    It's funny how a group with origins in San Francisco became a wildly successful Southern rock band. And so many hits from a relatively short-lived band. I think you'll enjoy Green River. I don't think you've reacted to Lookin' Out My Back Door, Proud Mary, or Suzie Q. All worthy for reactions.

      I've never heard them called a Southern Rock band. They were one of a kind that sounded like no other band. CCR songs are great to cover if you are in a band because they are so much fun to play.

    • @cherylbourgerie8868
      @cherylbourgerie8868 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@nyobunknown6983 I say Southern Rock because Fogerty had that distinct Southern twang to his voice and the majority of their songs are set in the South and have Southern themes. They did definitely have a unique sound that is hard to classify in one genre.

Their version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" is very good, definitely worth hearing, but the other 3 songs I mentioned are 3 of their very best songs, songs that anyone that loves CCR has got to hear, and all 3 are John Fogerty compositions.

    They definitely tapped into a winning formula. This is a band where you can just put on the whole album and use it as cheerful background music. You'll be humming and tapping your feet whether driving, mowing the grass, doing dishes - whatever. Also, they are apparently great for playing during Vietnam movie scenes. I think you would love their cover of Heard it Through the Grapevine.

    Great job as always A+A. This time your poll missed the mark by the omission of 2 needed swamp songs. The Talking Heads Swamp and Polk Salad Annie by Tony Joe White. I fell in love with Annie after hearing it in The Umbrella Academy. I also fell in love with Mel Torme's Comin Home Baby while watching TUA. You should check out the Velvet Fog as well- Torme's nickname

    "Green River" and "Willy and the Poor Boys" are their two most consistent albums if you ever go for a full ride. "Lodi" is the key single you have not covered. Tons of bar bands did it back in the day...

    Hey guys. Two songs from CCR that must be heard are Ramble Tamble and Effigy. These aren't popular songs, and not many people know them, but for real, 100%, no BS, those two are the best CCR songs. Guaranteed.

    Memories, I remember being 15/16 era. Coming within half block away from the High School or local dancehall and hearing some very good local band cranking out this song! Today a 15 year old would have a good day if the karaoke in the next room played it!!
