It’s been named “Swamp Rock” as genre in recent years but there was no such thing back in the day. It was simply a style they conjured themselves. Many more of the same flavor from these guys. A great, great band. Go deeper.
I grew up on the great music of the 60's-70's. CCR has always been one of my favorites. John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. They don't have a bad song! Huge list of hits! "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Proud Mary", "I Put A Spell On You", "Fortunate Son", "Down On The Corner", "Feelin' Blue", "Cotton Fields", "The Midnight Special", "Susie Q", "Born On The Bayou", "Travelin' Band", "Run Through The Jungle", "Long As I Can See the Light", "Sweet Hitchhiker", "Bad Moon Rising" etc.
This song has a special place with me. My best friend and I used to do karaoke on the weekends, and this was one of his favorite songs to sing - I think just because he liked to sing the 'Weeeelll....' part. Miss you every day, bud. He died two years ago, and this is one of the songs that reminds me of him. In fact I think I mentioned him in the Comments section for another of our old karaoke favorites. Miss you every day, my friend.
Yeah, like swamp rock. Every time I hear this song my foot starts to tap. I like John's singing voice too. And, this song takes everybody back to their own memories. Thanks!
Yes, this is considered 'swamp rock'. Maybe a name some fans came up with and pushed online. I don't know. I think it's more of a general consensus name.
Look you apologize to your husband about Kansas I do think you have a chance to be great. But what you said and did was rude lady. Rewatching your self. Writers always make rough drafts

I heard this called "Swamp Rock" back in the 70s.

Some of CCR's best were their three minute numbers...with, all of the songs you mentioned pounded out in a relatively short period of time...🤔
i like creedence clearwater revival👍
i listen since 70s
good band.
🇨🇵
Swamp Rock! Love the term.
They rock it!

Love CCR ❤
One of the greatest bands of the 60s you don’t even get
I see both of you dancing.
Swamp Rock has been a thing for a long time.
Not only my fave CCR song, but one of my fave songs ever! dbl ♥
"Barefoot girls dancin' in the moonlight." One of the most evocative lyrics ever written.
CCR had that distinctive sound like they were from the deep south but they were a California band! 😅
Yes, CCR was swamp rock. Others are Joe Aouth, Tony Joe White, Waylon Jennings

Classic 🤘🔥🤘
Swampy!! I can feel the mosquito bites just listening to this song 😂
Love John fogerty! Still touring 😅
LMAO...Swamp Thing meets The Munsters...so off the wall...but that's our T!
I have always thought "Swamp Rock" was the perfect definition for CCR
❤❤❤❤❤
Swamp rock is indeed a genre
The wierd thing is people keep saying there have this and that vibe, when they are from just outside the bay area in northern cal.
Has a Southern Rock vibe to me.
♥
Put me on a boat with a cold beer and some CCR and life if good
Not bad guys. 😎👍
Love CCR Please do SWEET HITCH HIKER also for another swamp song please do JERRY REED AMOS MOSES !
👍👍
Bullfrogs are a great audience on the Green River
Til someone catches them & eats their legs...poor things!
If you tried to get a band together back in the 70s-80s then you'd better have mastered this song because the crowd would demand to hear it.
People thought they were from the south but Northern California 😂
Yeah...this song has always given me the feeling of an unfinished song !.
Connie got great taste or an open pocket book? LOLOL Great song!
1969. Fogerty and the boys should sue every songwriter in Nashville for ripping them off in all their formulaic "country kids down by the river" song.
lawsuits are most of what they did after dropping their instruments
and I believe they stole more than ,,,,,
All his friends left to Vietnam war...
