In an article a couple of years ago, Plant and Page were asked if Stairway to Heaven was the quintessential Led Zeppelin song, to which Page said absolutely not, Kashmir is the greatest Led Zeppelin song. I couldn’t agree more!
How strange that both Plant and Page were wrong about their greatest song. Everybody knows Zep's greatest two songs are Tea For One and Since I've Been Loving You ;)
Kenny Johnson subjective as it may be, I beg to differ. In my time of dying and nobody’s fault but mine are for me the finest two pieces of Zep on the planet.
You guys remind me of how we used to listen to albums when we'd first get them in our youth. Just listening and looking at each each other now and then when these was something we liked or there was an unexpected wow in the melody or lyrics. You guys make me hear music with new ears again. Thank you.
I absolutely love that you guys were able to get around getting this blocked and how you went about it! Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time. They're so eclectic. Thank you so much for this!
I am a big time Led Zeppelin fan. I really enjoy watching Kel's reactions to the songs of Led Zep. It makes me really listen to the music and appreciate it even more. Greatest band ever! Thank you Kel and Rich!
The absolute touchstone of Led Zeppelin tracks. A masterpiece. I instantly think of high school and my 1967 GTO convertible 1n 1975. A defining year in my life. I love your reactions. Thank you both for sampling this epic of a generation.
His timing seemed many times to be at odds with JPJ and Jimmy's rhythms, but the guy just monstered the beat and basically drove most songs LZ produced. What resulted was as close to sheer perfection as there has ever been in rock music. If ever a man was in total control of his chosen instrument it was Bonzo, a pioneer and a legend.
I used to play drums in the 80's. The best way to learn to play drums is to listen to Zeppelin with headphones on, sitting at your kit trying to match that RHYTHM!!!🤘🤘
I'm 54 and always a Zeppelin fan.. Always my #1.. I'm the youngest of five and I can't remember ever not hearing them in my life. All four of my siblings had their albums.. the same ones LOL. My oldest brother was going to take me to see Zeppelin In 9th grade, but John Bonham died. It would have been my first concert. It's like going to church when I listen to Led Zeppelin.
The Bonzo thunderous drum beat, Plants controlled vocal rasp, Paige's guitar layers and J P Jones eastern key chords... What a masterpiece 😎👌 'Since I Been Loving You' is a necessary Led Zep follow on for you couple of romantics.
The purest example of why I watch and like your reactions above all others: 1) Kel's facial and physical emotional reaction, 2) Rich's music selections. 3) Both your sincerity. 4) The way you look/love each other :-). Room for improvement? When you stop the music as necessary for copyright reasons, make it as short as possible, but let Rich put up the signs, so Kel can stay in the mood :-).
Happy belated birthday! I have really enjoyed watching you all get into the music I’ve listened to for decades now. Also, watching mature reactions to these songs is more enjoyable than watch the youngsters. Thanks for a good time.
You guys are great. NYC is my fave city in the U.S. Broadway shows: (Crazy for You, Guys and Dolls, Phantom of the Opera, restaurants: (NoodleTown in Chinatown, Carnegie Deli, Russian Tea Room, Scotty's Diner at Lexington and 38th). Anyway, my vote is for "I'm Gonna Crawl", the final song on their final album. Best Song on the album and one of the best of their career. "All My Love" is pretty damn good, too.
a few years ago we saw Tran Siberian Orchestra in Tampa. at the end of one their songs, they dropped right into Kashmir. it was SO good, so seamless, and with them having a string section it sounded great!
1975 10th grade art class making bongs during ceramics course and LED ZEPPELIN Physical Graffiti Playing in the back Ground. This is what this song reminds me of.
Written 1973. Recorded 1974. Released 1975. None of the band had been to Kashmir but they went to Mumbai earlier. Most of the song was created on a drive through the Moroccan desert.
Kashmir was such a unique sounding track. The great thing about Zeppelin is that they never copied it or went near it again as a song. They simply moved on. Wonderful.
I love the mixed meter Led Zeppelin used so effectively (Bonham and the band are playing in two different meters, that is what gives the song its groove IMO. Lost of very talented and experimental musicians in the early 70s. So glad I grew up in the late 60s and early 70s--best rock and roll ever. I remember partying with friends and we picked a new album to listen to for the party: Queen, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, so many others. Sometimes I feel sorry for younger people :) I taught at the University fo Delhi in 2010-2011and listened to Kashmir almost daily (especially when I spent time in Kashmir).BTW, any band that can put a G Dorian and a G Lydian scale in a classic rock song really ROCKS! Thanks for sharing.
The beauty of this song is you will be able to listen to it 100s, if not 1000s, of times for the next 45 years, as I have. and still be blown away by it's brillance! :-)
Such a great tune. When you mentioned '75, I had to check my iTunes for the date to confirm my old-timey-ness. This totally reminds me of me during High School years in late '70's. Thanks for triggering me to go back into my old Led Zep catalog of songs I hadn't listened to in years. Rock on!
Kashmir, if you had one song to chill to on a desert island. Oh you guys break my heart seeing she has never had the chance to spread her wings to Zeppelin. I first heard this in 1975 when I was a sophmore in high school in my friends car. We were wrecked by this song. One of the true musical masterpieces of the last 100 years. When we saw it live, a moment to never be forgotten.
I wouldn't say I'm a the biggest Led Zeppelin fan, though I certainly am a fan, but THIS SONG! Might be my favorite song of all time. The Drums just feed my soul!
We love that you check in on us @Mike Nestor. You are terrific and we appreciate you being here and sharing the fun. Talk soooooon!!!! More ZEP to come!!! Rich
I have spent MANY a day/night blazed up listening to this ...MANY times , and b4 My hands started failing due Arthritis I loved grooving along with JPJ and the general sound
I went threw all your videos. Where is all your Zeppelin? Good times bad times, Dazed and Confused, Thank You - I’m sure kel will love this song. Tangerine there’s so many more. Please do more ZEPPELIN I love kel’s reactions to Plants voice lol. Keep up the awesome work you both are doing.
Hi there and thank you for your comment and question. Unfortunately anything done by the glorious Led Zeppelin’s is seriously copyrighted and so TH-cam has a program that play matches, which means identifies that were using copyrighted material, and blocks are videos from being viewed by all of you. We have tried many times already to get some of our videos through. We keep trying though. A strategy that many reaction channels use is the one we are using here with the signs. We don’t do this for all videos only for certain artists or bands who have a reputation for not wanting their music to be aired without their permission, Even though this falls under what is called “the fair use clause”.We have is to pause the music during the middle and put up a sign so that the program cannot identify the song and block our video. Hopefully that helps you understand what’s going on, thanks for being here!
I was at my mom's house for Christmas in 2017 and I dug this record out to listen to and it took my mom and I down memory lane of when we were young. My mom is only 16 years older than I so we pretty much have the same music taste when it comes to the classics. I spent my youth hearing these songs growing up in Michigan in the mid 70's.
When I first heard them, I thought they were the coolest thing I ever heard in my life. It was my brother who was playing the music, 1969, I was six. We loved it.. Still do to this very day, have all of there music on CD, blast it in my car all the time. Even if I am older. I am the old chick with the loud music in her car driving everyone crazy. Yay me!!
The best singer of all time, the best drummer of all time, and a top 3 guitarist of all time. Never was there a better collaboration of musical genius in one band.
Many hours spent on couches in the garage listening to Zeppelin with my friends in the 70's. We're in our late 50's and 60's now and still meet up weekly to party and listen to the music of the 60's, 70's and some 80's. Thanks for the samples!
I heard this when it first came out on the radio. I was riding in the car with my dad. I was 5 or 6 at the time, I think it was 1975. My dad didn't know who the band was, but that song got stuck in my head. It was years later that I found out who that was. Been a Zeppelin fan ever since.
Happy Birthday Kel, this would have been my fathers 90th Bday also. May each year for you and your husband be rewarded with more love and tenderness. I really appreciate your heartfelt reactions and especially your kind words to those of us veterans. I have had the honor to serve in three tours in Iraq, a tour in the Balkans and having lived almost my entire adult life over sears. My Fathers Brother was a Combat Engineer in WWII, my Father was a Combat Engineer in the Korean War (100% disabled), and I served also as a Combat Engineer (80% disabled), blowing shit up runs in my family's blood . the song that you are showcasing now is my lifetimes all very favorite. I find it very easy to just relax and let the music massage my emotions and as my anger and depression eb away i finally feel at ease for a few minutes. I am thankful that the good Lord led me to your channel and to your true humanity. This link will take you to what i believe is the best live version that I have found yet. I would be happy if you two would a few minutes to just enjoy it for yourselves. th-cam.com/video/9vbeilE0UrQ/w-d-xo.html This live version is over twelve minutes but it is absolutely well worth it. Happy Birthday again, and may each be better than the last.
🌀😷Absolutely the best Led Zep song of their entire catalogue! I first saw them play it live at the Knebworth Festival in 1979,when I was 21 and could tuck my hair into my jeans, and every time I hear Kashmir now that I’m 62 it takes me right back to sitting in that huge field with a soaking wet arse, desperately searching for a couple of dry Rizlas so I could get my buzz on! Kashmir started up and the search was called off as I was spun out by the pile driver drums of the master John Bonham and the song seemed to go on forever. I was totally mesmerised and I get the same shiver up my back nowadays as I did then. And I guess that my expression was, and is, the exact same expression that the pair of you have on your faces in this video. The way music can take you back to your past and remind of a place and a time is what makes it great, and the way that it makes you feel an experience all over again is what makes it truly awesome! Anyway, on to your next video........
Brings back so many memories from being a teenager in the 70's!!! sure do miss those days!! but at least i can still listen to the greatest music EVER!!!!!!!
that was an awesome video at the Kennedy Center, extremely well recorded.. And put on TH-cam... I play that all the time. I'm surprised they allow such a good recording for our enjoyment....
This is the track I always recommend to people when Led Zep comes up, the very best. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and I can't just listen once. Incredible.
My recollection is that my first time hearing this was in a log cabin in Juneau, Alaska... A sauna inside discharged naked hippies with regularity... Smoke drifted from a hookah... But that was two years before it came out... Memories are scrambled after my stroke... At 66, I am fortunate to be alive....
Ahhh Led Zeppelin! I've got the entire album collection and a huge framed print of them in concert on my wall. Together with the entire album collection of my Canadian Brothers RUSH and a huge framed print of them in concert on my wall as well. Life is goood! Thanks you two! You Rock!😎🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thank you. This is the best couple reaction channel iv found. I love how you guys did the pauses.. it also bothers me to my core when people talk and talk then resume. Subbed!
In an article a couple of years ago, Plant and Page were asked if Stairway to Heaven was the quintessential Led Zeppelin song, to which Page said absolutely not, Kashmir is the greatest Led Zeppelin song. I couldn’t agree more!
Kenny Johnson Robert Plant said the same thing. It looks like Robert is on the same page as Page.
How strange that both Plant and Page were wrong about their greatest song. Everybody knows Zep's greatest two songs are Tea For One and Since I've Been Loving You ;)
Page said that his favorite is Achilles last stand
Kashmir ia plants favorite
Kenny Johnson subjective as it may be, I beg to differ. In my time of dying and nobody’s fault but mine are for me the finest two pieces of Zep on the planet.

WELL PUT.
Nobody better than Zeppelin! I grew up listening to them as I was a teen in the 70s! Best time of my life!
You look in your 20's now
I'm with you Julie. When Led Zeppelin I dropped in 1969, I was 15. I instantly fell in love with the band and have been a fan ever since.
Mine too girl!
It sort of makes you feel sorry for younger generations. They will never have anybody that they can appreciate from their youth like we can.
I was born in 71 - I do feel like I've missed out ...
This is a one of the lump in the throat, goosebump songs...... truly majestic.
I absolutely love that you guys were able to get around getting this blocked and how you went about it! Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time. They're so eclectic. Thank you so much for this!
The entire Physical Graffiti Album is AWESOME.
Another epic song that never gets old. So glad both of you provided the listen and enjoyed it. Many thanks!!!!
Gotta do When the Levee Breaks.
Then after that tune follow up with misty mountain hop..
I always thought that song got too far overlooked. It was as great as all the others in my listening library.
When the Levee Breaks is such a good song that I even love the original blues recording from almost 100 years ago.
I am a big time Led Zeppelin fan. I really enjoy watching Kel's reactions to the songs of Led Zep. It makes me really listen to the music and appreciate it even more. Greatest band ever! Thank you Kel and Rich!

Just listen to John Bonham's drumming, there are good drummers but Bonham was in a league of his own a true genius.
John Bonham was the perfect drummer for Led Zeppelin. The songs were written with him in mind and he was magical on stage.
Andrew Streeter Amen to that!!

He was pretty good.

'Since I Been Loving You' is a necessary Led Zep follow on for you couple of romantics.
Love your reactions! And thank you for listening all the way through! The mighty Zep!❤️ Hope you had a great birthday Kel!

Happy belated birthday! I have really enjoyed watching you all get into the music I’ve listened to for decades now. Also, watching mature reactions to these songs is more enjoyable than watch the youngsters. Thanks for a good time.
Zeppelin's greatness is something to behold...just the best and heaviest band ever. No one touches them. Hammer of the gods, indeed.
Happy Birthday Kel.... Have a happy, healthy, wealthy year to come!
Absolute rock and roll canon! This is like plucking one of the great jewels out of the crown of Rock and Roll and giving it as a birthday gift.
Mid 70's a dime bag , bottle of wine and zeppelin, No cell phones, text's, selfies , Good ole days......
Happy Birthday Kel! Love Kashmir! Another awesome Led Zeppelin song is The Rain Song!
You guys are great. The love between you guys are just out of this world. It's radiating all the way to Sweden. Thank you ❤
I love you Sweden. Most of my short stories for my grands take place in Sweden. One is about a dragon named Dagmar.
Two great people playing great music deserve all good things. God bless your son brother, he is in my prayers....
a few years ago we saw Tran Siberian Orchestra in Tampa. at the end of one their songs, they dropped right into Kashmir. it was SO good, so seamless, and with them having a string section it sounded great!
Woulda loved to have seen that!
It was incredible to see them do that one LIVE. They put on a dazzling show!

lol,,, Nope!!!

Kashmir is the quintessential, epic jam...it is Led Zeppelins 'sound' banner jam!!

Happy belated Birthday, Kel!!! I always find myself with my eyes closed, bouncing my head the same way you do when I open them!
It is incredible to realize what geniuses led Zeppelin really were. Not even one song sounds like another. How many bands can say that?
With the music of Led Zeppelin and watching Kel,s sweet reaction made this awesome !
What a way to celebrate your Birthday Kel. The gift of ROCK!!! :-)
Happy Birthday, Kel! Great reaction, as usual, of an awesome song!
Kashmir was such a unique sounding track. The great thing about Zeppelin is that they never copied it or went near it again as a song. They simply moved on. Wonderful.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEL.
Tony Iommi has named this the song he most wished he had wrote.
I think almost everybody would! LOL! Plant has said it's his far and away favorite Zeppelin track.
Is there video?
I read it. I get news sent to me daily about led Zep and black Sabbath.
@@stevedrums1675 I agree with Robert. I also think Kashmir is Zeppelin's greatest.
Who the fuck is Tony Lommi???????????????
I love the mixed meter Led Zeppelin used so effectively (Bonham and the band are playing in two different meters, that is what gives the song its groove IMO. Happy bday ma'am . Awesome music.
Achilles Last Stand is a must.
th-cam.com/video/SNP0xu0rMw4/w-d-xo.html
The best version of Achilles Last Stand is a video of Tyrion (from GoT) slapping Joffrey over and over and over again. For the entirety of the song.
Aye.
Achillies last stand is a must ... no quarter ...in the light ...immigrant song.. must do must must must
Same album, Nobody's Fault but Mine is awesome.
I know the disk has been out of print for a while, but I hope Kel got the chance to see the live version of this from the "NO QUARTER" concert...
The Rain Song is the most romantic - beautiful song
As is Ten Years Gone which is about one’s first love
For a song you can't play thru without a break . . . which is how we all want to hear a song . . . you did it quite well! Well done!!!
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ZEPPELIN SONG ...SO MANY MEMORIES SURROUNDING IT
What a great birthday present, hearing Kashmir through start to finish for the first time. Happy belated Birthday!
"Kashmir". . . It's *HYPNOTIC!*
Really enjoy you two. Keep up the great work. Glad I found you!
Hammer of the Gods. Happy Birthday!
Such a great tune. When you mentioned '75, I had to check my iTunes for the date to confirm my old-timey-ness. This totally reminds me of me during High School years in late '70's. Thanks for triggering me to go back into my old Led Zep catalog of songs I hadn't listened to in years. Rock on!

Both my children were in orchestra in junior and high school and learned this song . They had such a blast with it and we parents enjoyed listening.
Since I've been living you - Led Zeppelin
When I first heard them, I thought they were the coolest thing I ever heard in my life. It was my brother who was playing the music, 1969, I was six. We loved it.. Thank you Rich & Kel I love Zep 💘 Happy Birthday Kel may you have a Beautiful Day
"Achilles Last Stand". Bonzo's drumming at its best.
Many hours spent on couches in the garage listening to Zeppelin with my friends in the 70's. We're in our late 50's and 60's now and still meet up weekly to party and listen to the music of the 60's, 70's and some 80's. Thanks for the samples!

Traveling Riverside Blues is a Zep must.
The Wanton Song the Bomb
Love the live versions from physical from 75 performances. Better than studio
In the Light is absolutely fantastic! My favourite Zeppelin song! I've heard the early version but prefer the Physical Graffiti version. :)
In my time of dying, houses of the holy, trampled under foot, etc.
fab stuff
Check out Hearts, version of Stairway to Heaven for the Led Zep Kennedy center honors, a Great Version!
that was an awesome video at the Kennedy Center, extremely well recorded.. And put on TH-cam... I play that all the time. I'm surprised they allow such a good recording for our enjoyment....

The page and plant unplugged version of this is just fantastic !!
This is the track I always recommend to people when Led Zep comes up, the very best. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and I can't just listen once. Incredible.
I like in My Time of dying won't nobody to move
@@mikekeeler6362 that's some good stuff, but I'll raise you by suggesting my 2nd favourite, Ramble On.
Your vids make me so happy and excited for moooore music!
I think the arrangement by John Paul Jones for Kashmir is what brings this masterpiece to life !
Those short pauses are not a problem... keeps from getting blocked.. small sacrifice...
Other reviewers have managed to play it through. Seems disrespectful to this classic. There has to be a better way.
wow you 2 are as great as ever Thank You!!!
#LedZeppelin Immigrant song
The vocals at the beginning just wow.
Read the lyrics while listening, simply a beautiful piece of work.
Yes! Robert's lyrics at their best, so poetic and mystical...
Robert Plants voice is, excuse my French, orgasmic!
