QGIS Layer Extent tool for Raster and Vector layers

This video demonstrates the Layer Extent tool in QGIS. The tool generates a polygon showing how far a raster or vector layer extends.
The tool also creates min/max/area/... et al attributes in the new extent polygon feature.
