    I want to thank you - I'm a bodybuilder that had a umbilical hernia and after doing this video just 3 times I have noticed it is smaller and easier to stay in. God bless!

    I loved this video, love your approach! I'm currently going to physical therapy for my umbilical hernia and every time i go they dont seem to explain any breathing or really show me the proper way of doing each exercise. They show me once and tell me to do 20 of each and just walk in and out of the room. I actually think it may be getting worse because they're having me do planks which i think should be done later on. Anyway your video has made me realize im in the wrong place. Thank you for these videos.

      If the Plank is creating more pressure Ron your hernia then stop and let your therapist know that it is hurting you . Yes there are a lot gentler and beginner Friendly exercises before any planking exercises which can cause more harm as you explain to this comment section . Usually i progress my patients with more core engaging Pilates and i utilize my Pilates Ring and elastic bands for a gentler progression .     I also wanted to mention, i had been wearing a girdle to protect my hernia but the therapist said to stop wearing it and now im unsure of how to bend over and pick up things or if i should pick up my 2 yr old? Should i hold my belly button when bending over? So frustrating! Any advice will be much appreciated!

      My suggestion as a therapist is to continue with the girdle everytime you have to lift anything more than 10 lbs . If you are working out then it is Best to engage your core with abdominal bracing and vacuumming your abs in if feasible. Try no to bend forward whenever uou have to pick or lift anything from the Floor , but instead do a deep squat and proper body mechanics . However if you have weak knees then i recommend you need to learn proper squatting techniques in order to fully heal your hernia . There are so many factors why people cant heal their hernia due to poor lifestyle choices . If you can stop lifting your 2 year old , and instead modify the pattern by maybe asking your Child to get UP by themselves or if They need to climb UP to their high Chair , make a small step for them to get in to the high Chair or bed . Modifications around the home is Best to fully recover . Diet is key as well , less salty food Will Help less bloating that can create pressure On your hernia . However if your therapist trust that you can start weaning off the girdle , then trust your therapist but make sure you Will apply these lifestyle modifications i suggested for you .

      Thank you so much for the advice! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my comments. Sometimes it's hard to figure out if a healthcare professional is in it to actually help people or just for the money. My family doctor and my obgyn have suggested that i get it fixed through surgery but it's not too bad and it only bothers me when i get very bloated since I'm lactose intolerant but i honestly did not know salt caused it too so I'll be cutting back on that. I was considering surgery when i started searching the web and multiple people regret getting it so I want to try other things first and have that as my last resort. I'll be signing up to receive more info on your class, thanks again!

    Got this from bodybuilding. Did this actually work for anybody and ale to go back working out after it healed ? I am not thinking it will work. As everything I read says that the stomach lining cannot repair itself once it has a tear from a hernia.

    hello i was diagnosed with a small supra ubilical hernia. you not see it only feel it a little bit, there is fat protuding out the wall.
    The visual don't bother me but the annoying aching pain every day is bothering me. its like constant pressure.. will these exercises daily will fix the annoying pain?

    I am diagnosed with umbilical hernia.... In a CT scan.... But was not there in the ultrasound scan....i am scared of doing any kind of core exercises after knowing this.... Will i be able to fix it...

      I do intermittent fasting and I exercise while in a fasted state usually in the morning and I exercise again during my lunch break for another half an hour then I will break my fast around d 1 pm

    How long it generally take to cure umbilical hernia.....based on your patience.....if your exxercise done regularly...asking in general.....not specific....so i can have that much patience

      Amruta Shrigondekar depending on how much is your hernia the size , your lifestyle if you exert a lot of lifting at work or at home , if you don’t wear your abdominal brace carrying heavy stuff or if yo I have a child that needs to be carried . It is also induced by asthma coughing and proper diet is key as well . High sodium diet causes bloating and more pressure on the hernia as well . If all of these factors are removed , you will see result in 3 months or less , doing the exercises daily .

    Thank you for this video . . I have very weak abdominal muscles due to many surgeries . I had 3 c sections 1 old fashion diagonal gallbladder surgery . Then I had a tumor removed and was cut horizontally for a partial hysterectomy .You can imagine what my stomach looked like . I managed to lose 50 pounds and then I had a tummy tuck . That was my last surgery . I am having many issues now. My surgeon from the tummy tuck repaired my muscles and removed 8 pounds of hanging skin from my stomach area. Now the gynecologist wants to remove fluid that I have in my fallopian tube that is now spreading into the pelvic area. And I also have cyst on ovaries that are 6 cm large . The gynecologist is going to remove cyst and fluid . And to make it worst I have 3 hernias . 1 umbilical , 2 inguinial . Help !!!! I am scheduled for my 8 th surgery on Dec 1 . I feel that I may heal my hernias with your videos . Although I may have to have surgery to repair those because I get Charlie horses in my stomach. They are very painful . I’ve been doing beginner to intermediate Matt Pilates along with spinning about 5 time a week . Any advice for my hernias . ? Thank you .🥲

      Caloric deficit is one of the tools for fat loss . I do intermittent fasting 16/8 window 5 days a week plus exercise exercises during the fasted state . Hope this helps
