RickReviews, that's a valid point. But I still believe they should have chosen a different design queue instead of something that ostensibly mimics exhaust tips.
The area where you reviewed the SQ5, is absolutely beautiful. It’s nice and scenic, and makes the car look even better. Also, that cameraman was on point with the camerawork!
Lol, even though people go off of ~6’ as the American standard... the “majority” of the world’s pop is actually Asian so technically ~5’6 is about the average height for human males lol
My dream car, I think I'll get a used one soon, love the sporty look and powerful engine. How is the steering in Sport or Dynamic mode? Is it light or stiff? I really get used to my ES350 and RX350 which are super light.
my bro just bought one of these and put an ECU tune with the stage 2 supercharger pully upgrade and it's pulling sub 4 second 0-60's... that engine is pretty sweet
I remember when it was just Audi that had this uniquely shaped grill and now every damn car has it. It's annoying but Audi still pulls it off better than anyone else
Drives very truckish I’ve been an Audi owner since 2014 after driving my 2015 Audi A4 for a couple of years I decided to trade it in last month for a black 2018 sq5 I love it it’s s beast and gets so many looks!!
They removed tips for cleaner look and I think previous owners complained about exhaust marks on bumpers. I like this design, after all exhaust itself is not fake, just no tips, and no need to worry about cleaning them
AUDI products have the most lavish interiors in the luxury segment !!! Intuitively fluid mmi , opulent seats , advanced instrument cluster !!! The dynamic sequential turn signal indicators are AMAZINGLY SEXY. 🙌👌👌👌😍😍😍😍
Hi, thanks for the great video. I have a question - I test drove a new SQ5 a few days ago. When pressing the brakes, there was a grunting. The sales representative said that it was normal since it was a performance car. Is that correct?
Wait, Sofyan...wouldn't the INFINITI EX35 (EX37) be the first performance crossover, being based on the G platform? The EX35 debuted in 2007 and was the only vehicle in its class well before Audi's SQ5.
You are right, I also find that it is a little sleepy when it put at auto mode. Basically i need push a little hard on gas at auto or comfort mode for acceleration.
Does this or any of the Q5s or option packs give you that interior lighting or ambiant lighting I've seen in BMW? If so which models and what's it called as a feature so I can make sure I get it
Isn’t Audi supposed to be a luxury brand? No rear heated seats nor sunshades, hard plastic bits in the cabin and driver aids aren’t standard. It looks and seems very much like lower end crossovers. It doesn’t differentiate itself in the “luxury” department. Why pay the premium if you’re not getting a premium experience and luxury features lower end brands don’t include as standard? You are literally paying only for the four rings. That’s it. They’re are lower priced options that include more features as standard. There’s no “luxury” here. Rip off.
It’s incredibly disappointing that they put fake exhaust finishers on this, especially being a performance crossover. Watch Audi NOT get all the flack that Acura got for removing exposed exhaust pipes.
Nice to see Audi is still nickel and diming buyers with its overpriced options. They giveth and taketh away (you can have heated and cooled seats, just not with that fancy upscale quilted pattern) the most desirable options. They even force you into the Prestige only trim for the adaptive air suspension option, which isn't even standard at that price point. Same thing for the best driver safety technology features and premium Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system.
Not sure if Audi has updated since your comment, but I sat in an SQ5 yesterday which was a premium plus and had adaptive air suspension. I agree, though, that features like cooled seats should be standard on a $60k car, since you can walk right over to Porsche and get into a $60k Cayenne (in msrp theory...) which has these features as standard. It is slightly slower, though...so trade-offs? Also, for what it's worth, the SQ5 I sat in had the warm weather pack which had the cooled seats and they are wonderfully comfortable, just not as flashy as the quilted seats.
Soyfan, Another great review. In this case I happened to own a 2018 SQ5 so I can say your review is pretty much spot on. It's an incredible car (and I am coming out of a Merdeces AMG for the last 10 years). Quality is top notch and it's one FUN vehicle to drive. It continues to impress me even after 5 month of ownership. Only thing you mentioned which is not quite 100% accurate is the transmission. While it is an 8 speed trans (same as the outgoing model), it is not the same transmission. The current model has a conventional torque converter, while the outgoing model had a dual-clutch. My wife has a '14 S4 so I am familiar with that transmission as well. Both are excellent. Keep up the good work. You are my favorite auto reviewer.
We had to double check, but the previous generation DID in fact, have the same torque converter 8-speed automatic. The SQ5 had that transmission as opposed to the 7-DCT from the old S4 and S5. For 2018, Audi did replace the DCT in the S4 and S5 with this 8AT.
Redline Reviews My apologies. I had assumed (incorrectly it appears) that the prior gen SQ5 had the same transmission as the prior gen S4 (as they shared and continue to share the same engine).
Thank you! But we will mention how it is not a competition, we respect and value his work as well. It does feel good to see the channel growing so quickly :)
I'm going to drive one this week, but after few reviews, not sure I'm looking forward to it... even hyudai and mazda cx5 has more soft touch on all the upper areas of the cabin... hmm.. if went up a notch in price point, I'd want the soft touch and lux feel.. and not just the audi badge outside... cup holders look like they'll be blocked if slide the armrest forward, as it looks like it's set too rearward.... the rest looks like it'll be a cool smaller suv
Please review the all new 2018 BMW X3 M40i. I bet you'll have more positive things to say about it then on the SQ5. I know you mentioned you were in a X40i, but that's an old style with the older engine compared to the new X3.
Noooooooooooooooooooo, why do they rid of the fog light? I know many will say what is the use of fog light but, if nothing else, the fog lights make look sportier. Also the fake dual exhausts seems to be the trend lately, what is up with that?
More mainstream brands need to come up with fast suvs like this (srt grand Cherokee, for example).. Some people buy suvs out of necessity, and still may want a fast fun car but can't shell out 50k+ for a fast luxury suv like this SQ5. I know there's "sport" versions of suvs, like the edge sport, Santa fe sport, Tuscon sport, etc.. I'm talking about something like a Santa Fe N, Tuscon N, Tiguan R, etc. Something like that. 300 to 400hp with good handling, braking and acceleration. For under 40k with options
Haha...that bee tho! Also, the Euro-spec SQ5 has the Black Optics trim package that I think looks so much better; hopefully they bring it over the pond next M.Y.
Hyundai at this time is way better in reliability, and you get what you pay, not like Audi. This car sells for 65k, when it doesn't give you anything special. At 65k you don't get cooling seats, when 25k hyundai gives you that.
Neznakomsas they aren't that bad...Audi and Hyundai are great cars...Audi would still pick up on quality, but there is still much more in the car, also Audis are reliable as well as Hyundais
Joe, now is the time to compare since the competitors have all caught up. The interior doesn't really stand out anymore. Audi shot their load on the virtual cockpit gimmick
Potato ..actually, it's the other way around. Hyundai has all the resources to make it happen . Question is, can Audi do it with a more affordable price point that Hyundai can? Its something Audi can only dream of...
At the end 😂
Fake exhaust tips on a "performance" car is really fucking sad
Ervin0310 I
I agree...
RickReviews, that's a valid point. But I still believe they should have chosen a different design queue instead of something that ostensibly mimics exhaust tips.
then dont put fake ones...
The area where you reviewed the SQ5, is absolutely beautiful. It’s nice and scenic, and makes the car look even better. Also, that cameraman was on point with the camerawork!
Its the park we gather and smoke weed together at
I really like how indepth you have reviewed the interior, especially mention that you can't have ventilated seats with nappa leather.
Sofyan your videos are one of my favorites, keep up the excellent work.. love the ending lol
feels bad that u have to mention "I'm pretty short, I'm only 5'7" in every video, man I feel u brother 😂
since when was 5'7 considered short?
lol I get so tired of mentioning it but if I don't, someone will ALWAYS ask...
Lol, even though people go off of ~6’ as the American standard... the “majority” of the world’s pop is actually Asian so technically ~5’6 is about the average height for human males lol
@@findingnismoz thanks for making me feel better, 5'7 here.
I'm 5'5" so it gives a great perspective that I appreciate
I'm a mercedes fan and this is my favorite crossover SUV. Second would be XC40. Can't go wrong with the SQ5
Just bought a used 2018 with the sport package. Love it. This review helped me make the decision. Thanks for the content!
My dream car, I think I'll get a used one soon, love the sporty look and powerful engine.
How is the steering in Sport or Dynamic mode? Is it light or stiff? I really get used to my ES350 and RX350 which are super light.
@@khoiquach It's stiffer than if it was in comfort mode.
I am looking for a used one and how do you feel about the fake exhaust and touch pad? I really don't like that about this car but may over look it
Fog lights are actually built into the bottom of the headlamp clusters. They point slightly downward and off to the side. Does a good job
my bro just bought one of these and put an ECU tune with the stage 2 supercharger pully upgrade and it's pulling sub 4 second 0-60's... that engine is pretty sweet
Not the same motor.
Cameraman did a good job. They need a raise!
raise 😏
I remember when it was just Audi that had this uniquely shaped grill and now every damn car has it. It's annoying but Audi still pulls it off better than anyone else
Wtf they pulling an Acura move with no exhaust
Drives very truckish I’ve been an Audi owner since 2014 after driving my 2015 Audi A4 for a couple of years I decided to trade it in last month for a black 2018 sq5 I love it it’s s beast and gets so many looks!!
If you can stretch next time, get the SQ7 - prices will come down..... Lovely... I did
wow an S badge with FAKE tips, wtf?
it has fake quattro, which this guy seems to deliberately not conveyed, so I guess the fake tips can be excused.
They removed tips for cleaner look and I think previous owners complained about exhaust marks on bumpers. I like this design, after all exhaust itself is not fake, just no tips, and no need to worry about cleaning them
Ilya Elis lollolllolllllllll
Fake tips. what the fuck. ???? ???? ?
The hallmark of any S, AMG, M should be the annunciation of your prowess and power displayed by prominent exhaust tips (and sounds). WTF indeed.
In blue these things look pretty sharp. But then again, any Audi in blue looks pretty damn sharp.
The best review I’ve seen for this car thank you
I have one on order and can’t wait to get my hands on it
Your reviews are fantastic. But please, turn the volume way up when you talk and way down when you play the music to introduce the vehicle. Thanks.
Beautiful spec only missing the black optics package not a fan of chrome, glad to see the led headlights are standard
So, did you like the drive/ride better than the Jag? Have you driven the Velar or the Volvo XC60?
Honestly, I need this in my life.
Sofyan, how do you feel about the Q5 line being made in Mexico now?
AUDI products have the most lavish interiors in the luxury segment !!! Intuitively fluid mmi , opulent seats , advanced instrument cluster !!! The dynamic sequential turn signal indicators are AMAZINGLY SEXY. 🙌👌👌👌😍😍😍😍
Excellent Review. If a person were to buy this vehicle they should go for the fully loaded model. You only live once.
It does have fog lights. It's integrated with the headlight units
I don't think they "got rid" of the fog light. It's merely integrated in the LED headlight. At least it is that way in my S7.
186bingo it’s the same in my Q5 the fog light is in the headlight
What im always confused by is why do you need to get a sport package on a sports SUV? And i wonder why Audi puts the B&O tweeters so close together.
its not a fake exhaust tip, its part of the design. if it were a fake exhaust tip it would be an exhaust tip that didn't work like a lot of cars have
d Yes
I can’t wait till these are available as CPO for $40K instead of $60K.
They are now ⏰
I'm from the future, they're $27k
Hi, thanks for the great video. I have a question - I test drove a new SQ5 a few days ago. When pressing the brakes, there was a grunting. The sales representative said that it was normal since it was a performance car. Is that correct?
NO AMBIENT LIGHTING ?
How reliable are the air suspension? Can u really feel the difference and if needing to be replace is the air suspensions costly to replace or repair?
Why premium gas? What is the "premium" over normal gas?
Wait, Sofyan...wouldn't the INFINITI EX35 (EX37) be the first performance crossover, being based on the G platform?
The EX35 debuted in 2007 and was the only vehicle in its class well before Audi's SQ5.
Max Shadow yes but the SQ5 was the first dedicated performance luxury crossover. The EX35 was not dedicated as a performance luxury crossover.
Max Shadow Calling that thing a crossover is pushing it when it's really a hatchback.
MrCarGuy20 true... that vehicle didn’t really have the ground clearance to be a crossover.
The camera clarity is AMAZING!
You are right, I also find that it is a little sleepy when it put at auto mode. Basically i need push a little hard on gas at auto or comfort mode for acceleration.
camera seems like its pointed downwards more than your usual videos?
Really great in depth review! Thank you
Sofyan, you getting jacked bro!
Actually the brake hold is the parking brake. You can engage it when stopped in drive and as soon as you step on the gas it'll disengage.
Audi goes with an "injection molded piece here." How do you know some much about the materials used in car interiors and how they are made??
This or the GLC 43??
One thing I haven't figured out. Every review I've seen puts the 2019 model's hp rating at 354, but it's advertised by Audi at 349.
Are laser headlights an option for this car ?
Reviews tighter than those Baby Gap T-shirts...Keep up the good work!
What the price of the lexus rx 350 f sport with that lovely vs engine?
Will you be reviewing a Macan S to compare?
Does this or any of the Q5s or option packs give you that interior lighting or ambiant lighting I've seen in BMW? If so which models and what's it called as a feature so I can make sure I get it
Quick question, you used to work for car sales, right? How do I get started to join car sales?
How low will the airbags lower the suv?
60 FPS is

It’s the attention to detail which defines luxury, in my opinion.
Audi just Nickel and dime you.
The rear windows comes with privacy glass as standard so why need a shades?
Umm neither does bmw or Mercedes
Luke Dickson lls yes they do
Hi sofyan just a quickie can you launch control the new sq5 ? Please
Will you do the 2018 audi a7/s7/rs7 ? when it come out
are we going to get the sq7 tdi?
It’s incredibly disappointing that they put fake exhaust finishers on this, especially being a performance crossover. Watch Audi NOT get all the flack that Acura got for removing exposed exhaust pipes.
What happened to the trunk space review?
Fake a exhaust tips. That’s a big concern.
Do the steering wheel feel the same like the s5?
Now is it this, the GLC43 coupe, or the X4? That's the question.
You should of tried the launch control. It has a totally different feel to it from the get go
Does this compete vs GLE or GLC?
Audi makes nice driving, fast cars. However, this interior is not that fancy for the pricing.
Benz definitely looks more premium.
What is the point of fake exhaust?
Hi Sofyan, if you had to buy an SQ5, would you buy the 2018 or the previous generation (CPO)? Good review! Long time subscriber.
Sofyan awesome video as usual, could you kindly do one about the Kia Stinger Twin Turbo V6 please. Thanks!
That video is already done, we filmed and posted it almost a month ago.
Dang sorry man, I'm hecka far behind. I'll check it out. Thanks!
you should review a 2017 BMW x3 xdrive35i
I’m going from s5 as a man with no kids now I’m an uncle and a dad and sq5 is all I want
Especially since the most fun I’ve had racing in my s5 was against sq5s with an entire family on the highway 🤣
Stop saying "honestly". We believe you.
Honestly, actually, really, kinda...sentence fluff words drive me crazy.
Somehow I haven’t seen any Porsche reviewed on your channel, any reason why or I just didn’t look hard enough? 🙂
Great video! Do you think you'll be able to get your hands on a BMW X3 M40i soon?
Those tips are a deal breaker
Great Review! Love this car! Thanks for uploading!!!
is this in California?
Too bad it doesn’t have the dynamic turn signals in the front as well :(

Thank you! But we will mention how it is not a competition, we respect and value his work as well. It does feel good to see the channel growing so quickly :)
I know, it just suprised me because your channel was an ''underdog'' not so long ago

Used to love the Audi sq5 until the Mercedes Benz GLC couple AMG 😍
rmonroe135 the coupe has so little interior space tho
Derek Gaming this is true but the interior is way nicer than the new Audi. The virtual cockpit is the only thing it has over the Mercedes
Will you be doing a Honda Civic hatch 2018?
Tozik He did a Honda hatchback review. Look it up.
Very nice review as always! Thank you.
Noooooooooooooooooooo, why do they rid of the fog light? I know many will say what is the use of fog light but, if nothing else, the fog lights make look sportier. Also the fake dual exhausts seems to be the trend lately, what is up with that?
It looks much better without the fog light.
I wish you did initial accelerations with the car straight instead of taking a turn
X3 M40i or this?
I only want the track hawk after he made the video about it
This or Macan GTS?
is this daytona grey or monsoon grey?
Daytona Grey Pearl Effect :)
Gay Grey.

Dylan Wodrich stupidest comment ever. Do you know how expensive a regular car is? Dummy
In a perfect world yes but the markets to hot
How many cars have 300+hp under 40k with options?
BMW or Mercedes?
I love this suv
Thinking about getting one, but kinda stuck between the q5 and the Acura RDX.
Maticalise Music Master the RDX is kind of due for an upgrade, but if it Suits your needs, go for it.
can you do the 2018 S4 ? :D
You love Audi’s !!!
Great video. Sounds like you sick. If so get well buddy
Haha...that bee tho! Also, the Euro-spec SQ5 has the Black Optics trim package that I think looks so much better; hopefully they bring it over the pond next M.Y.
I love the scenery at the begining
review the x3 m40i next please!
I can watch Sofyan review a pencil and not get bored
The interior has too much hard plastic for the price point. Audi is just going by name interior quality has dropped.
Hyundai at this time is way better in reliability, and you get what you pay, not like Audi. This car sells for 65k, when it doesn't give you anything special. At 65k you don't get cooling seats, when 25k hyundai gives you that.

I much perfer high quality plastic interior than having a small piece of the dash with fake stitching that makes the interior uncohesive.
