Kashtira is the perfect summary of modern Yugioh card design. Don't make cards with cool and interesting effects. Make cards that don't let the opponent play the game.
Tear had interesting mechanics, cool effects, cute graphics and interactions with retrained cards from an old anime character, not to mention they weren't just full of negates and their format required actual skill in playing the game
@Zeneck that would be a problem if it warped the format in an unfun way. Like we had many other tier 0 formats in the past but honestly how many of them were as fun, skillful and NOT just "throw out 7 negates and pass"?

My problem isn't so much fighting them during ranked matchups or tournaments, its that people who choose this deck have the bad tendency to unleash their frustrations with their miserable, pathetic, waste of air lifes, aka they use it *EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. GAME.* including casual plays...

I hate kashtira untill I saw runick ,then I started to see it's not that bad if they ban kashtira rebirth. it's summons a monster from the grave whenever I beat him up.that's insanely powerful.Or they give Zombie deck the same effect.After all they are Zombie and they can come back from the grave .

depends on how the kashtira player plays. if he makes the standard lock 3 with mind hacker, ariseheart, shang, fenrir, his ariseheart has only 1-2 materials. so concealed swords would be very effective against that board. and if he iblee locks you, he usually cannot extend further and you can just concealed swords, normal summon, make dagger, pop birth, then play.

@@Aaron0000014 eclipse loses to ash which is a big deal because they have around 45% prob of opening ash if they even prosp for it after the combo. eclipse also loses to turn skip floods. e.g. you play an xyz or fusion deck, you eclipse them, you try to play, then they dbarrier you, you pass, so eclipse makes them go +4. with concealed, it stays face down, they cannot flip it, you get another turn even after getting turn skip floodgated.
OMG thank you! Tearlaments was in my opinion one of the fairest and coolest tier 0 decks ever, I lost a lot to Branded Despia and Scrap Dino and Zombies, there where way more ridiculous FTK and shutdown decks like the perfect Mystic Mine deck back then, I run a Tearlament Ishizu Lightsworn deck now
@@RedEyeKing313X yeah people were so ungrateful to the single best deck in ygo history, just because it felt a bit monotonous since everyone was playing it at higher tables, but guess what? it was the most consistent, not necessarily the strongest, now we get Kashtira which is extremely unfair and requires you to deck build a lot of hand traps again. Right when we finally got rid of those... sometimes I don't get the ygo community: they hate on something for months, and when it finally gets replaced they're angry again

Marincess is lucky to be a decent rogue, the fisherman deck is ok, Phantasm Spiral and Ice Barrier are underrated, Mermeil's and Atlanteans are ancient history. Let me ask you, did Tearlaments guarantee make 3+ Omni negates consistently, or do a Mystic Mine shutdown or do a 90%/100% FTK burn? Or was it all random milling and heavy dependency on graveyard monster effects and skill?

The thing I hate about Kashtira is that they get 2 continuous special summon used cards but Spright couldn't keep their 1.

Lance only makes it immune to spells & traps, so everything but eclipse works.

The best Thing about Kashtira is that it Bannishes FACE DOWN, Banishing is not powerful enough I guess
They can banish, special summon, search, remove from play, lock zones and recover, not mention plus in every stand by phase.
