After watching your video I ordered a kit. Have it half way installed. The truck is in the shop for repairs. I have a Fab Four front bumper that adds maybe another 5 to 10 inches so the camera will help me out a lot.
I can see the usage for parking and getting through cars and Off-roading but I probably wouldn’t have it on while driving so road hazards probably would never be seen. I do see the use for the other issues though.
LOVE my front camera when parking head first, stopping at intersections/crosswalks, tight drive thru’s at fast food joints... haven’t had a chance to go off road yet, but I’m sure I’m going to love it then, too! No more guessing! Perfect pull up every time! You forgot to mention that, with this mod you have control of your backup cam at all times as well...
Rob, i think you are spot on with this video in the options for the front view camera. I am currently working on installing mine on my 2019 off-road. Ive received by TRD grill and camera assy, and working on purchasing my Garnish plate. One thing i am wondering about is you have your camera above the garnish plate. Do you have the TSS sensor installed w/ the camera and does the camera interfere with the TSS operation or are you running your w/o the TSS?
I love that front facing camera. I can think of a 101 uses for it. The backup camera too. Tried to buy one, but they are currently out of stock. Can't wait to get one! Great video Rob, loved all the test cases!
Under the mirrors there are 1 camera on each side and the 3 one is when on the front camera when you get close to something it has a warning beeping sound
I back my truck in when I get home and with kids they are always leaving bikes and toys all over. Some day I’m going hit something. God forbid a child was sitting in front using sidewalk chalk or something. We are all in a rush and never check the front of our vehicles when we leave the house.This camera just might save a life.
Robb, Have you contacted the front cam people about adding record to the front cam? I really want one if they do. That would be the "icing". Seems like it would be easy with a video splitter??
Love Tacoma except seats and tech and by now should have an 8speed transmission for better fuel economy they make one and make front camera standard equipment and make hood scoop functional
I don't know if that is true. The new Ranger has a 8 speed and the rated MGP is overrated it doesn't get any better MGP than the 3rd Gen Tacoma in fact if you purchase the Orange Virus tune you might get better MGP than the Ranger
Hi Rob awesome video! I am way too late getting this camera, I knew you already had traded your 2018 Tacoma for the cool blue 2020 Tacoma. My question is, will the location of the front camera where it is mounted interfere with the TSS function? My 2019 have the TSS sensor. I wanted to make sure it won't affect the TSS sensor functionality before i buy the camera.
Rob was your car making a beeping sound when you put it in reverse? I heard it when you were doing the parking demonstration in front of the red pole barrier.

first mod im getting day of buying the vehicle at the dealer, unless of course, they have that option by the time i go buy it in a few years....

Try it at night sometime with the lights on and the lights off with the lights off you can see everything. Excellent Night vision.

I get kind of spoiled having 360 cameras on almost all the cars I drive at work, then I get in my old truck that has no features lol
