The diaphragms found in the Keihin CV (Constant Velocity) carburetors used on the Honda CB350 and CB360 family of motorcycles are often found torn, melted or with pin holes in them. Lucky replacement diaphragms are available and we show you how to install the new diaphragms on the original carburetor slides. While similar in design, the diameter of the slides is different between the CB350 and CB360 families of bikes. The installation process is easy and takes only a few minutes with basic hand tools.

Thanks Brendan. Just started this part of my rebuild last night and how convenient to have this waiting in my inbox this morning! Will be installing new diaphragms tonight!

To get the old bellows and phenolic ring off, rip the bellows away, then just heat the ring on a gas stove. Just a few moments will heat it up, soften it, and it will just pull away and off. East with just a pliars.....No damage to the slide!!!

Hey Brendan, great video and great that you guys have an option to replace these diaphragms 👍 I have found the rubber in these (JBM) diaphragms to be quite a bit stiffer than the OEM ones, and the carbs don't respond very well to them without some mods (particularly if running pod filters). Seems the stiffer rubber causes the slide to rise much later. I found opening up the two slide lift holes by about 1-1.5mm (3.5mm stock to about 4.5 to 5mm from memory) helps considerably and gets the slides operating much closer to how they do with the stock diaphragms. Of course there are so many variables at play from bike to bike, but info that may be of use if you have any customers running into the same trouble. Cheers👍

Hi David, I think I’m having the same problem. I replaced the diaphragms and it runs great at full throttle but sputters like crazy otherwise. Do you think enlarging the slide holes could help? Thanks!!

I have a 1969 Honda CL 350. Same carb but an earlier model. Can't seem to get my slides out. Any ideas?

Thanks, is this also the same for a cb250g?

Yes, but the 250's were either built on a 350 or 360 platform. Need to know what version of the bike you have to order the correct diaphragm.

Bad way for replace the membrane, you don't need to cut the plastic holder, just use soapy water and install the new one
