"Behind the Scenes/A Day in The Life" at shops are always popular videos on youtube, so definitely continue, and hopefully get a little more in depth as you go along. Couple general comments from a Nobody (me): 1) Crazy that you just started and they let you do these videos lol- but hey, it's great marketing for the shop, and 2) 3:48 Can't believe he slid that Avengers 17 back into that old decrepid bad lol- You HAVE to use NEW bags, especially on older comics, espcially Silver Age Marvel!. That makes a HUGE difference in Sales. It's all about Optics, and even tho it's just psychological, but books sell much faster when in a crisp new bag/board!

Hmm I was always curious with how comic book shops operate. I’m the type of customer who digs in the $1 bins and I always question if the shop is actually making any money from me.

back issues on spinner racks....why? the customers leaf through those bending them up as they go. I wouldn't put anything but 25 cent books on those.
We don’t keep very many back issues on each spinner rack, so the issues aren’t at risk of being bent👍

Are you still working at the comic shop? I live in Alaska but go to the Bronze Age Batcave in Los Gatos when I visit the Bay Area. I'll have to make it my "mission" to stop by and get some comics at your shop.

I use comic hub thru my LCS 😊nice. Man I always wondered how it worked with new books coming out and no real guarantee on them selling

I’ve been out of the hobby more than 20 years since I was a kid. Now I have kids and they got me back into it. I hear and see this term several times, 1:50 chance to get variant. Obviously these are not sports cards enclosed in packs…what does it mean? Thanks
I had that same question before i worked at the shop! It’s actually referencing how many copies the shop orders of something. So a 1:10 variant cover means that the shop needs to order 10 copies of the comic before they unlock the ability to order that variant. Hope this was helpful.

Then now thinking about, 2 unknown things could happen if “customer” isn’t present (stopping myself mid sentence and this really makes you wonder what goes on behind the counter) 1 - you won’t know how many the store will order to unlock variant & 2, that Variant could be long gone before me or any other potential customer that is looking for said variant. Kinda like, what was there before the Universe 😫😆

Living the dream
Would love to see more behind the scenes stuff while you guys are pricing old books. Maybe do a run through of any collections that came in - key issues, big finds, hidden gems, favorite books. Maybe get a weekly update of what the owner recommends from the new books.
That would be really fun! I'll for sure look into filming some more content at the shop.
