Captain Marvel #82 was one of the first golden age books I bought when I was in junior high school. It was a comic show at the local mall. I got that and Jungle Comics #128.

Love the Paratrooper Santa! Great books! Those Sad Sack appearances are awesome. I’ve been wanting that Boy Commandos infinity cover (which is also a Buy War Bonds cover too). You have an amazing collection.

I’d bet that Planet cover is by Joe Doolin

I was thinking that Bill Ward did a comic strip for Yank mag but I might be mistaken. But I know he did do a strip for a military publication.

Can't get over the 5 cent price for those Yank magazines, even back then they must of cost more in paper and ink than 5 cents? Would be great to see the jokes on the back, to see if they laughed at then what we still find funny now! I caught a few by freezing the screen, they looked funny still!

I think they were designed to be moral boosters. Highly subsidized in order to help the servicemen.

if anyone collects WW2 era golden age, i have a Terry and the Pirates - Adventure of the Ruby of Genghis Khan - 1941 Libby's Juice Radio mail-in only. If anyone knows anyone interested in something like that. Super limited census. It came mailed to the kid folded in half horizontally (!!!) and taped together. Unique take on delivering comics :) it's a great book. Slabbed it , 5.0. Let me know if anyone knows someone that hunts that sort of thing/IP/era.

Those might be too big for CGC. I wonder if you can get top loaders big enough for those. That with the archive paper you have might work.

Yeah, I need to find a good way to store and protect them.

What was the date of the issue where Sad Sack appeared on the cover?
