My Review for Pip was sent back to the DWP, in July. Still waiting for a response. Although i was told my Pip was granted up until May 2023. I won on appeal. No DWP rep was present at my appeal. I think it's about time that people who's condition will not improve should not have to go through these Dreaded assessments with these liars. This PIP needs a complete overhaul. I got 4 points at my assement, but got 10 points at appeal. I use the independent advice service in my area. My appeal was done by the Law Centre. I'm on ESA Support Group. I wish they would stop all this change. They bring out these benefits, then years down the line it all changes. It's very annoying. Your not boring to me Stuart. Thank you for advice. Can i just say, what is the point of going to an assessment, being told by them your not fit for work, then the DWP can change it. I also don't think it's fair that when you transition over to UC, your money can decrease. I despair.

They gave me 0 points both times on all my appeals because they don't care about you if its mental health related.

@@papichuckle the same thing happened to me, I got zero points from my assessment and was so disheartened I didn't go for an appeal, I have psychosis and I've got musculoskeletal problems and I had meningitis that causes problems for me too and in the reply letter to say that I had not got p.i.p the letter said that they recognised my mental health issues and my musculoskeletal problems BUT I DID NOT FIT THE CRITERIA, wtf do I have to do to convince them. I was actually advised by a DWP advisor to go for p.i.p as I get the disability income guarantee payment as part of my ESA and I'm in the full support group.

Hello Stuart. Thank you for uploading these important videos about ESA and PIP. In March 2023 I have my PIP review and I can’t help ruminating about when it happens. I’m due to have an allocated therapist, after being accessed sometime ago. I’ve been waiting for therapy again for a long time, due to their lack of available therapists, but they keep phoning me regularly to reassure me as soon as one becomes available I will be seen, making me a priority. But when I was awarded PIP earlier in the year, mental health services notified PIP I would be seen for therapy in the next month, but I’m still waiting because that therapist had left, and I was back on the waiting list again.

Mr Stuart if you have any spare time, please do live streams whenever possible. That way people can ask questions, and you'll be able to give possible answers on the spot, and you'll be engaging directly with your viewers. Also, you have enough subscribers to post 1/2 days in advance of your live stream, so people can be prepared and you won't be on the stream alone! By the way, congratulations on the way your channel is growing, and thank you for all your help and support!.👍👍👍💯

When I applied for PIP a I wrote a diary of my day for two weeks, I wrote down everything. If I slept how many hours how much pain was in if managed to wash and dress that day, if I was able to get food and drinks. What my pain level was like whether my medication was working that day. Basically everything. I submitted this with my application and to the person that came to my home to assess me. The lady said she found that extremely helpful.
Also the ME association have an extensive range of leaflets on applying and appealing benefits. Even if you don’t have ME/CFS the leaflets can still be used to help you complete the forms some are free downloadable or can be posted, some are about £2. Again available as a download or can be sent out in the post.

Stu, you are a star. DWP staff are the worst kind of people. They won't guide you or tell you anything. If you make a genuine error they'll chop your head off...literally! Should anyone in such a position of power be allowed to do that to people that are already down??

There is a bit of misconception that having an illness or disability diagnosis means you're automatically eligible for pip.
That isnt how it works, to break it down to its most simplist form, there are 12 activities that pip list, it will ask you can you do said activity without any help, yes or no.
That means you could have two people with the same condition, one can wash without help, but the other can't. So one would get points but the other would not.
It is a good idea to get the descriptors for each activity, that way you can kind of assess yourself and how many points you think you could get but obviously that might not happen.
In any case though, it's always worth just applying even if you're not totally sure if you would be eligible, if the answer is no and you're okay with that, then you can come back if things gets worse, or take it further if you feel you should be getting pip. It's the hardest benefit to get, and to stay on. I've had to battle myself, I'm happy to give some advice to anyone who asks, I've helped many people get to grips with the system because it takes almost a degree to understand it, and what your rights are. Going to court isn't that scary, it's just a long wait time

@@amylewis2362 Fight Amy, like i did. I put in a late appeal, well over the month. Waited 12 long months. No DWP Representative was present at the tribunal, what do's that tell you. I was awarded the points i should have got. 8000 pound in back pay. On my award letter from the tribunal, the Judge said i was substantially limited. As well. As physical ailments, i have diagnosed depressive illness and anxiety. I cried throughout the whole process. I was wearing a thick scarf up to my neck as i have Arthritis in my neck, and it was a bit stiff that day. The rep, who was with me, had to pull my chair out from underneath the table as my arm was weak from the neck problem. It's called Cervical Radicalopathy. I had problems sitting comfortably as i have bilateral sacroiliac joint Arthritis in lower back. They had to speak up, as I have Tinnitus in both ears, and stress makes the sounds worse. So they had to repeat some of the questions. When i got home i was such a bag of nerves and tired from the experience , that i had to go and have a lye down. My Review Form was sent in in July. Still waiting for a bloody response. The worry is killing me. I also have Celiac disease, and the Pip money helps with the cost of the gluten free food i have to buy. It's way more expensive then normal food. Try and get help if you can. I think the DWP, think many people won't have it in them or will get to stressed to appeal, but i was angry, with some of the liars the assessor had put on my report. She did say at the end, that my condition is going to worsen, and she recommends a light Touch review. The DWP still ignored it. Got 4 points. Got 10 on appeal. Get standard for daily living and Mobility. Fight for your rights. Good luck. Don't give up. Get help. Don't do it on your own. ❤️

I'm not entitled to free treatment dental, eye, prescriptions and now the cost of living payments
Then last week I received a dwp letter stating my money has been reduced by £20 a fortnight
I do feel I'm being penalised for working

Try looking for support groups in your local area as most doctors and mental health professionals don't know what is available in the local community ,there is groups for cancer patients ,mental health problems and dementia groups that support patients and carers and these are the ones I know of but there is many more types of support groups out there to get help from and some are even run by the NHS and they could also advise you on what you are legally entitled to from the benefits system .

I have phoned PIP on numerous times, a friend helped me fill in the form and my health is worse now than it was when I was put on DLA indefinitely. I have been told that I must now wait for a face 2 face review because my health has worsened. I was due to change my Motability car last month. We applied for DLA for him in October and have had a letter saying 'sorry we haven't assessed him yet we'll get in touch again at some point'. We are having to borrow money from family just to eat and keep the car on the road so we can get to my son's medical appointments. We simply can't afford to pay energy bills. They say don't worry because you will get it back-dated but we have been living in poverty for months and months while we wait and are getting into increasing levels of debt. The fact that my son is still waiting means we can't apply for Carers Allowance so we are actually losing money. My disability is MH based and this is not helping at all.

I had to fight pip, i was in court less than 5 mins and was asked one question, the judge and the three other people were so nice and the judge even made a bit of a remark asking why this case was even there as it was so cut and dry.
We who are disabled are very good at trying to be positive and we push ourselves to do things that ultimately make us regret it but we always try to be more on the positive side, when filling out the form do not do that, if you have to physically hurt youself to do something, then when it asks if you can do it, the answer is no.. the issue is we are seen for maybe 45 mins and judged in that time by the assessor but they don't make the decision, another person we never met does based on the paperwork but if they have a bit that states that you can do something, they will latch onto that and base the claim solely on that one of two times you pushed yourself to do something or will assume that your good day is all the time, its ridiculous but this is how they can score you so low.
Mine was even more stupid, I ticked the wrong box, crossed it out and then ticked the right one.. the decision maker decided to go with the wrong one even though I wrote under it that I ticked the wrong box and that's why it's all crossed out and then circled the right one.. they didnt care. Mandatory reconsideration, I sent in 90 pages of evidence, all genuine medical evidence, they ignored everything and stuck to their guns. That's why the judge was so quick. If you know that you're supposed to get pip go to court if you have to, you can get help either from citizen advice or go to your council and ask for a welfare rights person, they can help with the forms, you send everything you have to the court and then wait. Even if you're not sure, going to tribunal is still worth it because the four people in there have no agenda, and will explore everything they are sent, and they are fair. The fact 76% win, shows that actually they don't side with the government that much and a lot of the one who lose are bumped down a level, so they still get pip just not at the level they wanted. And if the court says no, then at least you know that right now, you arent eligible but that doesn't mean you won't be forever.

Being made unemployed some time ago she wanted to return to work but was worried her mobility may constrain her hours.
She was advised to apply for contribution base ESA which she was awarded.
She then found employment and started working 15 hours per week as she was advised that doing so would protect her ESA as a safety net.
However she was called for a assessment and the assessor made inaccurate statements and my wife lost the benefit protection which she appealed.
She has just had the appeal where she felt they had already decided against her.
She has worked all her life and has been a mental health nurse for over 14 years. The job she took is now office based with restrictions in her workplace as its a hostel based job.
She gets no payment from ESA anyway as her wage put her over that however she is allowed to work 15 hours and retain ESA which is what she did. She is now very angry with a system as she feels has discriminated against for keeping within the rules.
Just waiting for the result to come back from the appeal.

In my experience with representing people on PIP claims/appeals I have found two things to be pretty much universal. 1 The medical report can be just made up. EG I had a client I attended with, and the report said they (my client) attended alone, and did not need prompting. My letter back to the DWP stated that I can be heard on the recording prompting my client. This was far from being the only error. 2 The DWP never applies Statutory Instrument 2013-377 Part 2.4.4 (page 3 in PDF format). IE the criteria for "reasonable time period" etc.

My pip claim was horrendus and continues to be , every time i get a full review and they mark up how many points i have received , its different by 10+ points everytime , even though i send in the same information everytime. This means that the help received is both unreliable and totally down to the reviewers discretion of how much points you receive , one time you might not qaulify , one time you might , but only just (therefore receiving a small amount) and other times you might get max points and full money. Aside from this it took me 2 years and having to hire an expert in my area of disability (autism) to get anywhere in the pip system despite having a full report from several doctors and specialists on how it was and is continuing to affect my day to day living and mobility.

I was assesed for partial capable for work .six months later was re assesed and was taken off the sick which I appealed and rejected?after reading the documents from the appeal I found that it said that mr nixon has no problem with his asma mr name is west?. After a suicide attemp I was re assesed and kept on the sick,I applied for pip and was rejected. Concquently I found out I have COPD ,arivmia, and a few other ailments .was asked to see my work coach on universal credit asking me to look for work, unless I am unable to or unwilling .so I needed a sick note from my gp which I did then they said that they wernt try to force me into work? I am only able to use a quarter of my lung compacerty. I dont trust them as they have lied and faulcified documents on sickness and pip assesments.

@@andycarter3460. 12 months is quite a bit, but there is a backlog and the waiting time depends on the area where you live. However, for them not to give you a decision yet doesn't mean it's bad news. Just call them every 2/3 weeks until you get something through the post.

I find the comment of calling people scroungers on UC very derogatory. I am not on UC by choice, until recently I was employed full time but due to my husband of 25 years passing away suddenly last year, my mental health took a huge hit and I have been suicidal and suffering with depression, consequently I am genuinely unable to work. To be called a scrounger makes me feel even more worthless. I agree there are people who abuse the benefit system but to label all UC claimants this way is disgraceful.

I was wondering about the light touch element to Uc. If a couple applies with no children. Will they have to be earning more than the threshold of circa 764 pounds. To qualify for light touch. What if one half of the couple gets wages of 550 pounds and the other doesn’t work. Will both have to go to a work coach? Or just the one who doesn’t work at all.
Or will both have to attend meetings with a work coach. If they get less than the circa 763 pounds per month.
