    Have the very best Christmas Stuart, and everyone else who comes to this channel. If you can enjoy it wonderful, if not as I was for a few years it’s only one day then it over. Best Christmas I had in those days was staying in bed with a book and coming down stairs for tea and a round of toast. Thanks Stuart for all your videos throughout the year. Your a star and I love the hat.

    10.1% in April 2023,if inflation is higher than this in April 2023 then its a reduction in living standards compared to the previous year. Why wait until April 2023 people needed the 10.1% like yesterday! Remember Liz Truss was going to give the rich tax cuts via state borrowing.
    Happy Christmas everyone and thank you Stu.

    My mate was seriously struggling with Universal credit and she had several medical problems which was blatantly being ignored by UC. I got involved and started researching what she was entitled too. I then got her extra element of UC which was backdated, PIP (higher rate and higher mobility rate) DLA for her autistic son which has helped her so much and stopped the stupid, unrealistic demands set by UC. I was absolutely amazed at how she was never told she was entitled to it by any one.

    thank for the vid mate. I just wanted to share something that has happened in my situ. my 14 year old son has come to live with me full time as he and his mum are having to many issues so he wanted to live with me. Im am on UC and pip, because of this change UC have decided that i am no longer legible for the traditional payment so that has now been cut from my UC which is now £165 a month less. so heads up if you find yourself in this position and your expecting money to be able to take care of your children, remember this will not be the case, we are now struggling and will be until he is old enough to leave home or find a job so he can take care of himself. This makes me feel like a bad parent now. happy Christmas everyone x

    Just being reassessed and worried even tho I have multiple life limiting illnesses! I’m on the traditional benefits and so is my son as my full time carer so we both lost out on that £20 a week universal credit people got through lockdown… even though I’m considered as high risk as it can get. We are both about £1200 in debt now with bills and shopping going up! Went into heart failure two weeks ago been in and out of hospital with pneumonia and picked up norovirus. Would love to not have to worry about it all for a little while but cos I’m young they choose to reassess regularly. Nothing is unlikely to change as my lungs and heart are permanently damaged and my mobility hindered fully by rheumatoid arthritis. It’s exhausting. Thanks for your info x

      I am lucky to have 1 meal a day even a tin of beans. BUT really no one cares that much
      There will be no way to pay back money if they refuse to give you it to start with.
      I have lost 7 weeks of money going from WTC to UC. now WTC want back almost £500 for a further back date.
      this would mean losing more like 11 weeks of money.. Yet still bills wanting to be paid

      Once your granted pip go to your gp get a fitnote and add it to your UC journal ask to be assessed for Limited capability for work and work related activity they will send you a form to complete and you I’ll be assessed after 3 month waiting period if successful you won’t need to go the job centre anymore and it’s and extra £354 on top of your UC ward also you will need to keep giving fitnote from your GP during the assessment and submit them
      them Untill they say you don’t have to
      It’s similar to the pip assessment
      Good luck

    • @jimwest7107
      @jimwest7107 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct. PIP does not instantly correlate to UC. Different things. I sicknoted from the jobcentre for 6 months as they were slow to do my Work Capability Assessment. I received standard PIP non-mobility and about a month later DWP wrote to say I was on LCWRA. I never took part in anything, all done from GP notes and then had PIP and LCWRA backdated the next week.

    I got my 1st UC payment 30 Dec. to cover till 30 Jan which is 31 days.
    since WTC stopped 7 Nov. so NO income between 7 Nov to 30 Dec.
    Now I got a letter from WTC (DWP) demanding payment back for almost £500. saying over payment yet I have had no other Income from UC or any were else for this time period. which means over £1,500 stolen benefits by the government for this time period.
    They also refused to pay my Rent so that now has to come from my UC. Even though been getting Housing Benefit for years.
    All i see is demands for money back which is not valid since had no other payment to cover this time period. and I see we are a caring society right now I am £1'000's a year worse off. to a point were I have next to no money left to buy food after paying all the house hold bills

    Just found your channel and i`ll be watching more. I recently went on ESA after losing a job (i`d only been there 8 weeks) due to health issues that stopped me doing the job at the required pace. I`m suffering with Cervical Radiculopathy with severe left side impingement thats making my left arm very painful and have left side numbness in my face along with neck pain. I`m 51 and only ever been on (the sick) once when i had covid in 2021. I`ve now been on ESA for close on 2 months and awaiting to see a spine specialist at Salford Hospital. Will i be made to look for work that i can do that doesnt effect me with my current status? I`ve only ever done quite physical jobs warehouse work and Car bodywork/Valeting etc. My current sick note runs out 27th Jan and uncertain how to go about getting another.

      @peterclarke7240 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi buddy, I'm relatively knew to ESA, been on it for about 6 months due to heart condition, so I'll try to help, but please don't take my answers as gold standard!
      If you're on ESA, you cannot be asked to seek work. You are signed off irrespective of the type of work you could theoretically do.
      New sick notes can be got from your gp or therapist (OT, physio). They no longer need to sign it (thank god!), so it should be a straightforward case of asking for one and them issuing it to you.
      Once you've had your formal esa assessment (if possible, I would request a phone assessment if you're immuno-compromised), you shouldn't need to provide sick notes once the system is updated.
      Hope that helps, and good luck!

I live with my partner who works so I didn't think I could claim any benefits. I was recently advised that I can put in a claim for pip and maybe universal credit. Hey @StuartMcGoo my PIP Award Renewal form came yesterday. Merry Christmas to me, huh. What's worse, I had to then spend an hour on hold to tell the DWP since it had arrived late by two weeks I was not going to be able to meet the deadline for returning it. Last time I did one of these forms they insisted on re-assessing me, even though I had developed more diagnosed illnesses. Then took away enough points that I lost my Daily Living. 🤣😡 The Assessor was a two faced little toad. I told him years ago I had a motorbike, so he wrote that I had a motorbike license. I had to sell my bike in 2003 because I was no longer strong enough or able to balance well enough to ride it. I sold it for half its price to a Polish fella. He didn't write that in.
    Anyway I have no idea what to write that will not trigger a re-assessment. Of course I am desperate to avoid that because I no full well it is just going to result in heaps of stress, arguing and sending the DWP my entire medical records, at least twice. Its a hassle nobody needs.

    My wife had her notice from the ESA appeal. Bearing in mind her mobility is so poor she receives PIP her appeal was awarded against her. So the fact that as part of her previous award she was entitled to do 15 hours work on a therapeutic basis, this was used against her. So my advice to anyone thinking about doing therapeutic work don't bother. Mind you it has no come to my attention that anyone between the age of 50 and 60 from next year anyone with a disability will allegedly have a job coach who's role will be to force you back into work irrespective of disability. Can someone confirm or refute this?

    Concerned with the comments of people being contacted for work search if they're LCWRA... How can this be right? It's down to a doctor/specialist to decide if you're ok to work not a jobcentre advisor. Just be typical bully boy tactics and tyrants getting people into things they aren't comfortable with. It's interesting to see the direction things are going in with UC. Having previously worked within ESA for a number of years it's baffling to me. Have a search of the cost of DWP clerical errors...... ;)

      I worked and paid my taxes and National Insurance until i could no longer and because it is 'Insurance' i made a claim and just like you if you needed to make a claim on your car/home insurance, i would obviously love to be healthy and working again but life can be cruel and your comment doesn't help people who are suffering.
