I'm so glad I found someone who got into one of my top schools without submitting their test scores. Like you said, I don't think they properly represent me as a student but all the college stats vids I found were all private schools who were good at the SAT. Thank you for being awesome :)))
5 months later and im here to announce I was rejected 🙈 however, I still learned a lot about myself during this college process, and I even found something to be proud of. Thanks for being a great resource nonetheless!!!
@@periwinkleadidas Hi Adia!! I know I am so late in responding, I apologize for the late response! I am sorry to hear that. I thank YOU for being an inspiration.
Hey girl! This video is wonderful! I applied to Wesleyan Early Decision without SAT/SATII/AP and the result will come out in two days!! Your vid really reassures my anxiety and encourage me. Thank you so much!!! Hope to see you next fall.
It looks that you are not active on youtube anymore mais je tenais à te remercier, l'énergie que tu dégage m'a revigoré pour mon processus d'application. Étant une étudiante étrangère, tout cela peut être très stressant voir même insurmontable. Donc un grand merci à toi ! Ce serait cool de découvrir de nouvelles vidéos. p.s.: your french is very good, toutes mes félicitations.
P.S. Thank you so much for your compliment on my French speaking, I love the language so much! Hehe
DUDEEE!! I'm applying early decision this year to Wes, and I'm completely in love with the school. I don't have my heart set on it in the way that if I get rejected I won't be too upset (because I know that there are a million applicants) but it really is the perfect fit for me, so fingers crossed. Anyway, this video really helped calm me down. I'll be applying without my SAT, too. Thanks for this information you shared!
I didn't get in, but it's ok! Someone from my grade also applied ED and he got in, and we had the same class rank LOL. My choices are Syracuse, Occidental, Oberlin, Kenyon, Fordham, Emerson, and Macalester. Waitlisted at UChicago, BU, and Carleton. I want to study film, so I think I'm going with Emerson. I didn't apply to any of the other big film programs (USC, NYU, UCLA, etc) cause I want a real education. Emerson will give me both a film education and a real liberal arts education, so I'm super excited. The best part is that I think Emerson is actually the best place for me and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. :D
@@ellirosenthal120 Hi Eliana! I am so sorry I am responding so late!! All of those great top schools!!! Yassss you go loveee!!! ❤️❤️ I am super excited and happy for you!! Emerson is blessed to have you!! I cannot wait to see what God has in store for you ❤️❤️
Awesome video! I'm a junior in high school right now, and Wesleyan is definitely my top choice. But I'm kinda worried my grades aren't good enough to get in... But anyway, I love your channel! I'm also studying French, so I like how you did the vid in French too!
Thank you sooo much, means the world! Welcome to the #MATEETSFAM! So glad my video was able to help!! Best of luck to you with your studies-YOU GOT THIS, BONNE CHANCE MON AMOUR❤️❤️!
Omggg heyyyy welcome to the #mateetsfam!!!! So, for my college application, I applied to 20+ schools and Wesleyan was one of the top schools I wanted to get into. I was rejected by like 87ish% of the 20+ schools and at the end of the college feedback process, when I received a yes from Wesleyan, I literally did not look back and made my decision. I'm a type of student who asks a lot of questions and who cherishes small faculty to student ratios which Wes has. There are some huge lecture courses that are popular on campus and being pre-med, the intro to bio, chemistry, stem courses, etc are pretty big but even in those huge lecture classes, the professors are always willing to meet with the students outside of class time which is nice. I also like the fact that Wesleyan is a small school. Everything is convenient to get to point A to point B. The open curriculum at Wesleyan is also why I said yes. I am a French language fanatic but I also have a passion for medicine. So, with Wes' open curriculum, I have the freedom to be a French major and a Chemistry minor while being pre-med. So far, my experience at Wes has been full of lessons and impactful experiences. My freshmen year fall semester was tough in a sense that it took me a while to realize that I had to change my study habits and learn how to balance my academic life with my social life while taking good care of myself. That's a mistake I made in my freshmen year of not having a balance and it landed me in the ER because I had a panic/anxiety attack. So, I made the decision to withdraw from one of my courses (Here is a video where I go into depth about my withdraw process and learning how to balance at Wes: th-cam.com/video/8_1Fgto_L1I/w-d-xo.html ). Second semester freshmen year and still right now, I feel soooo good and unstoppable! My experience at Wesleyan has also taught me to advocate for myself heavyyyyyy, especially being premed. Wesleyan is a liberal arts school and so, opportunities and information pertaining to being pre-med and medical school are not clear and requires the student to network with fellow premed students and to make appointments at Wes' Gordon Career Center so that that type of information can be known unto them. So my experience at Wes has taught me aspects about myself that I never realized I had in me and has made me not only a better student but also a more confident individual. (sorry, if you didn't realize, I do talk a lot haha. Thank you for reading until the end. Hope this was helpful!)
MATIZA it was extremely helpful. Wow. Wesleyan is definitely on my list of colleges that I’ll be applying to this fall! I’m interested in studying philosophy and chemistry, so Wesleyan’s open curriculum will definitely benefit my academic endeavors. What are your thoughts on the chemistry faculty at Wesleyan?

Thank you for the helpful info! I'm applying RD to Wesleyan this year! Did you have an interview with admission deans and/or seniors back when you applied?
Thank you for this video!! It's really so helpful :). How important would you say 4 years of a language in high school is? Obviously for you French was super important (it's also super impressive!!!) but for an incoming applicant, how important is having taken 4 years of a language in high school? The Wes website recommends 4 years but I want to apply ED and I've only taken 2. Do you think that will have an impact on acceptance?
Hi Jessica! You're so welcome, I am so glad my video could help❤️❤️ I am not sure I can answer your question just because I don't have experience working in admissions. However, just keep in mind that language experience is not the only aspect of your application that Wes will look at. There are other aspects of your application that would also play a part. By the way, 2 years of language experience is extremely valuable so be confident and proud of what you have to offer!! I wish you the best of luck !!
