As much as I love all of Vulf records' original work, this is honestly up there with the best that's ever come out of them. It is beyond genius to create such a perfect mashup, and Jack deserves major credit for this most epic DBZ-esque fusion of legends that is so jaw-droppingly perfect. it's because purdie is like a metronome, his time is incredible. So is Henry's, he's jazz trained, rhythm is a massive part of the curriculum especially with a percussive instrument like keys.

I've heard midi clocks that drift more than Bernard or Cory.
Cory's organ playing is very sensitive to Purdie's style. It's almost as if the organ was accompanying the drums. I think it's amazing. It really pays homage to the talent of Purdie.

The most interesting thing about Purdie’s setup is the toms. Having them set up with high on the right, and mid on the left makes it so much easier to move between them. It’s set up like marching tenor drums. Absolutely fascinating

Yup: there's a track like this (two different performances mixed together into one track - I think it was the drums from one performance and guitar from another one) on Zappa's Sheik Yerbouti double album (need to check which one). Zappa was about 30 years ahead of his time....
The whole Joe's Garage album is full of xenochrony . All his live guitar solos were saved. They did some pretty crazy stuff. Check it out w headphones 🎧.
