I was about to throw the brand new Mavic air out of the window. DJI support and forums were no help. Thanks so much for this video. Solved the problem 100%. Just used the a cable that I had at home.

you're so right Jay, I got my air and spent two day's trying to connect. I finally decided to try a different cable and bingo..connected right up. For fun I contacted DJI and they send a flood of emails requesting invoice numbers serial numbers case numbers and finally they called me on the phone a requested a picture of the cord within a time limit. Great product and the support is fast but unbelievably well unbelievable..lol

Sometimes I fly with Air Plane Mode On. But if I'm flying Far Range I'll fly with airplane mode on!

Is there a reason you don't use the cable that comes with the air and plugs into the charging port? Is there a better connection plugging in from the bottom of controller?
Yes! I Believe There Is A Much Better Connection Via Usb On The Controller Straight Into Your Phone/Tablet! Also I Use A Galaxy Note 8 So My Phone Wont Fit.
they sell those at shorter length.The extra length may put extra stress on the remote port,causing the cable to fit loosely

This wouldn't have anything to do with the distance from the drone would it? I flew my Mavic Air many times just in the back yard on beginner mode with zero disconnects. First time out in a field when I ventured out 1000+ ft I had a disconnect on the second flight.
Correct. Its basically the faulty cable that comes with your drone. I hope you was able to get your drone back!

There are short connectors that you are meant to use between your phone ad the controller. Micro USB . Why are you using the charging cable?

Doesn’t the cable that your phone come with work? Or that just for the drone.
It glitches just like the USB dji cable. If not now eventually.

In the back of the controller is a USB port! Run the USB cable from the remote to your phone Jack! The Dcs will stop

For Iphone I just use the usb on the bottom of the remote and the Lighting into phone. Way too scared to fly wifi, and even more scary to use the original usbc to lightning jumk

thanks ill try it, my controller disconnected all data went to zero i call it home but not even the voice work. so i was just praying that somehow the drone would make it home and 4 minutes later it did. but it was a very bad experience not knowing the status of the bird.
Already change my cable but still the problem exists. After I get "Aircraft Disconnected" on my DJI APP, then the RC led turns RED and I loss any control of my drone.
Seems more like a Dji Drone Internal Error Try Hard Resetting Your Drone.

I use my samsung tab a 8" with my air...and the tab does not even detect the dji wire...its shit...i can use any of the other 3 wires i have and works just fine
