    I just got a mavic air combo on saturday & finally took it for maiden flight the next day after waiting for rainy weather to end.
    It’s my first ever drone and it’s amazing. Thanks for all your videos & the information you provide.
    I’m learning more with each flight & really can’t wait to ride to upstate ny , especially in the fall and film some awesome autumn scenery .

    Hi, thank you for the great information video on the drone. I just bought a used one in very good condition. When I follow the process of registering the drone to my account, DJI is asking for Visa/Debit/Credit Card details. Is this the correct procedure for the registration to my name? Thank you in advance. Tom in Ireland.

      It was designed that way on purpose. There is only so much current running through the charger so instead of splitting that electrical current between 4 batteries and charging them all slowly it focuses on charging one battery as fast as possible so you can get back in the air.

  • @mgr5550

    If its a brand new mavic air battery, should the battery be allowed to stand in the charger overnight even after the charge blinking has stopped ? Like a battery break in or something. Some people suggest doing this for phone batteries etc which are new. DOes the same hold good for these ?

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not heard of that. I think once the lights stop blinking, I the battery is at 100% and can be taken off the charger. I've actually heard that it's not good to leave the batteries on the charger too long once they are charged. But, these are "smart" chargers, so I think that it's not a problem either way.

    • @mgr5550
      @mgr5550 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My new MAVIC AIR is a regrettable experience. Havent even flown it yet. The remote controller once fully charged lasts only 30 minutes that too when not even flying. Just idling and checking the remote functions thru the android app to get a feel for them and it last me 30 minutes. How the hell will i fly with my flymore combo which has 3 batteries which will outlast the remote. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a flymore combo when your remote will last only 30 minutes on a full charge. And charging the remote from say 20% to full TAKES 3 HOURS.

    • @whatsup7202
      @whatsup7202 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mgr5550 that's not normal. You have a defective controller or doing something wrong.

      Maybe they do it to make sure your phone doesn’t die mid flight and loses signal. Then the drone might rth and crash on the way.

    Can the FAA sticker be underneath the battery? If I have my drone replaced by DJI Care, can I use the same number of the downed aircraft?

    • @readysetdrone

    4:00 The batteries charge in sequence?? Disappointed it works that way. Approximately how long does it take to charge a battery from near-empty? So after having fun for about an hour in the air using three fresh batteries, you go back to a power source to charge them and have to wait for them to replenish 1 then 2 then 3 before heading back out again for another hour? I guess that's OK if you're flying in your backyard, but out in the field where you have to return to a power source (coffee shop, hotel room, etc.), having to wait sequentially seems not good.

    • @RapidFireRetro
      @RapidFireRetro 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      From my experience it takes at least an hour at minimum to recharge one of the batteries. So I can get one back from ~30% to 100% on a portable 110v charger while I use up the other two from the Fly More Combo. I'm definitely going to be getting a 4th battery down the line.

    • @Zico20
      @Zico20 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      nothing's stopping you from buying 200 batteries. By the way, the charger is smart enough to start charging the battery with the most juice in it first, which I think is cool. If it chargers all batteries at the same time, now that would be more disappointing.

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great observation. The picture in the app shows it with the camera facing sideways. My suspicion is that either will work, as long as one is horizontal (drone in normal flat position) and vertical (either nose facing down, up or sideways). I've flown several times since this video was made and had no issues with it the compass or GPS, so it seems to have worked.

    Also turning the drone on u need to press the button once then let it go and then press it for 3 seconds

    2 MORE TIPS FOR NEWBIES:
    1. If you have problems linking, check the USB settings on your phone. My phone was being charged by my controller so it wouldn't link.
    2. If you use a Meizu phone like me (Chinese Android), you won't be able to fly without a REVERSE USB cable - this is because the long side of the Micro-USB port on the phone faces you, this cable does NOT come in the pack. Happy flying everyone!

      Hey Dallas, thanks for the tip. Can you give more detail about what you did to solve this issue? I think I'm having the same problem.

      @@oscee19 As soon as you connect the phone to the controller and turn the phone on, search in settings for USB. If its incorrect, the controller will be charging the phone. I changed mine to MTP. Then I open the DJI App, then turn on the drone.Sometimes, it works first time. If I try restarting my phone , I still have to go to USB settings, as it resets itself! Also, make sure drone is on when you can hear it beep, and see the props wiggle. I also try hotswapping batteries where I dont turn the drone off, just swap the batteries, sometimes it reconnects straightaway. Keep drone and controller right next to each other too. The other day I couldn't connect but I hadnt fully pushed the controller cable into the phone, even though it felt inserted!

    Appreciate the time you put in making this helpful vid, but I’m going to go ahead and give you some advice.
    When someone says “go ahead” 36 times in 15 minutes it is annoying. So, go ahead and keep making these videos and I’m gonna go ahead and keep watching them but dude... try to go ahead and find a new phrase now and then. Now I’m going to go ahead and watch Office Space.
