I was going to do the exact same thing, and this video contained everything I needed. Thanks a lot! To avoid oil on your hands and tools when removing the lowers, just rotate them upwards, and when both sides are loose, rotate downward again and the oil will drain. Great vid!
Great video and a couple of tips. You can use a 12mm spanner to leverage the wiper seals out rather than risk a screwdriver. To release the lowers it’s worth buying a spare set of the aluminium nuts to screw on and then using a socket and mallet. They are cheap and can be used every time you service the forks. Saves the cost of the specialist tool.
@@AlanCross I failed on the damper side lol. I pulled out the leg far enough for the damper end to go back to plug, but upon turning it around and trying to separate the legs I let the fork compress and the damper shaft came back down and it popped out the plug and that 40cc of Teflon 5wt went on the garage floor lol. Lesson learned. I still used the method to save the air spring side and I got it swapped. Now it is half way together and waiting on delivery of damper side oil to refill and I’ll be good to go. My next time I do this it will be cleaner!
Hey, just want to know does the negative air piston that is made of metal goes all the way to the inside of the stanchion tube or does it gets stuck after slightly pushing it in? I want to know whether similar to the positive piston that is made of plastic that can move freely all the way in and out of the stanchion tube does the negative piston can move freely inside or it gets stuck after getting at a certain place?
I'd have to take mine apart to check, but as long as everything has proper grease/fluid, it should be able to move the same on both sides. When you put the fork back together add like 10 psi and push the fork down to make sure it can go through it's full length of travel
Sorry, can you help me, i don't understand on fox site how much cc should i put in dumper side for fox 34 Rhythm? All 34mm FIT4 Damper-Side Bath or 34mm non-SC Grip Damper-Side Bath or 34mm SC Grip Damper-Side Bath or All 34mm Grip2 Damper-Side Bath?
question.... I have a 34 rhythm 2017 of 100mm and I want to change it to how it was before (150mm) I want to buy the air shaft but I want to know if it would fit the air shaft of 2019 34 float of 150mm

Good video! I am considering changing my travel down for mullet action on my Fox 34 Rhythm. Air spring looks super easy..
Yep, it's just a simple swap of the air spring and then putting the oil back in and reassymbling!

What kind of syringe is needed for the fork?
I used an old one from a rockshox brake bleed kit, but pretty much anything will work. I think you can find generic ones on amazon

The Rhythm forks use the Grip damper so I would follow the amounts listed for the 34mm non-SC Grip Damper-Side Bath
@@AlanCross Ohh, thank you so much !!
140 mm to 160mm? :o
If you are wanting to make the switch, you would just need to buy a 160mm air spring for your fork model and the process will be the same
but for fox 34 can that change be made? sorry my english is not very good xd@@AlanCross
@@_quban No worries, just wasn't sure what you were asking. But yes the 34 can go to 160
@@AlanCross thanks bro, and by the way good video🏋🏼
