This video is the second video in a new series I'm making on how to level an AOE mage fast in classic wow! With the transition to TBC coming up, a lot of people want mages for gold farming, tbc pvp, and to prep for tbc release. There's also a new server people are using as a "fresh classic" server, so I wanted to make this series to help you all with leveling your mages in the open world aoe farms as quickly as possible!

The spot I would recommend for horde is north west corner of the barrens there’s some fairy things. Not nearly as tight but with fireball you can pull.
Just a heads up, as far as spec goes, if you’re planning on respeccing at 22, might as well take talents that really help with arcane explosion. I’ve always taken 3/5 arcane hit and 2 points in the arcane resistance debuff for enemies. Really helps when arcane spamming early levels

As a horde player, the swim/run from grom'gol up to the farm spots in westfall is pretty taxing when you consider having to do it multiple times to train spells
Has there been any luck finding a better spot for the horde side in this level bracket? I'm currently looking around myself on beta but no luck finding anything yet.
side note, for the horde spot in silverpine u showed. Shadow priest-lock dots-warriors. u can speed lvl there nice, a warriors charge and heal, theirs no down time.
fastest way to lvl skinning too. group and set loot ffa. and ur skinner has no down time either.
Which area you prefer for horde players to aoe lvlng?
Great guide! I found the Sand Crawler location (16-18) to be more around 1 hour per level though.

Went to the location at level 14 this morning and I ended up hitting 15 pretty fast. I got over 40 cloth and 5 greens from it during that one level of grind. I was able to make some better cloth armor, now I need to find a nice spot to farm wool once I get a few levels higher
What was your talent build?
did the crawler aoe, damn 55g/h looting the crawler meat selling on AH 1g a piece and 55s for clam meat. gold mine.

Also, level up cooking up to 50 before coming here, you'll get easy 135-140 cooking while doing this.

Moved onto the crab spot and there was a 60 bot boosting his lock multibox
Any tips for the Westfall gnolls? Level 19 and having trouble taking a pack of 5 because they hit me for so much dmg after the 2nd flamestrike
is there tips to avoid them resisting your nova? ty for the video btw
Unfortunately they have a 1% chance to resist, even with the elemental precision. My recommendation would be to kite them using your frost armor if they resist, or potentially reset the pull

There will be horde specific for 22-36!
As horde I recommend aoe farming then prowlers in the barrens
Great video :) One question though: why not pull with a wand instead of rank 1 fireball? What am I missing? :p
Rank 1 fireball got faster cast time than the wand, I imagine
@@MrKemboo yea ofc, you are right. I had that 2 sec fireball cast, from the video, inprinted in my head. R.1 fireball is 1 sec. :)
Ya so R1 fireball is 1 second, R2 fireball allows you to get off extra damage pre-aoe :)

I had aoe leveled my mage during tbc and it was perfectly fine. I don't know how it stacks to classic but i remember enjoying it.

Thank you for the video! I am currently working through level 18-22, 19 now. The guide has been great. However I am getting pummelled by these Gnolls! How do you get them to group up so well? Looks like you barely take any damage before your Frost Nova them.

Don't move too much, and if you do make sure you're moving away from them so that leeway doesn't work against you!
For horde its the harpies in north barrens
I"ve tried this with basic gear and it is impossible. You run out of mana before you can kill the mobs.

Fireball does not go down to 1 sec with the talent, its down to 2 second.
.1 sec faster cast per talent point, max of 5. takes a 2.5 second cast of a rank 1 fireball down to 2 seconds.

Yes that's definitely a good option! Unfortunately I find that without gear they kind of wreck haha. There's also a stunner which can cause problems.
@@arlaeus9491 Nothing those world buffs cant fix ;). Getting warcheif in xroads was very handy. also recall a stealth pat which was annoying

Why not use your wand? You save mana and it's faster than a level 1 fireball..
The range is shorter on the wand. Other than that, yes it's a superior alternative pulling method.

This is outdated! Its impossible to kill the gnolls! Lvl 18, all green eq, but 5 gnolls is just too much. Not even close to killing them. 3 is totally fine, but its only one camp that has 3 in it. The rest are 5 and that is simply not doable

@@bennyhops7230 I tend to agree with shaxx in some ways. That might be because I just hate the pull though. I find it hard to kite some of the packs with single knolls walking around, and even then you end up close to dead drinking a gallon of conjured water. You might call it technique, but its hardly something you can turn your brain off for.
With engin and goggles its doable
Fireball is 1.5 second cast... no idea if that changed somewhere along the way....e

just do the crabs from 14-19. pull with wand. talent up arcane focus 3/3 and elemental precision 3/3
drag em close to the water so you never get a random add. did those 5 levels in a bit more than 2 hrs (skipped looting tho)
18-19 is debatable but 14-18 surely this is the best spot.
Nice job man! Ya I personally like the other spot when I don't have gear just since they run away and I find myself running out of mana at 14, but definitely a great option.
@@arlaeus9491 Mindtag here. heya Mr A. Nighthawk82 is 100% right. Go for the crabs, i personally take all my horde alts for crab xp, auto respawns, and that meat farm is Good ez Ah gold. In shadowlands with lvl scaling The crab farm never goes away hehe. cheat codes. run off your rested xp on crabs. its faster then even picking herbs/ores.
PLEASE NOTE, THE DEFIAS TRAPPERS USE BACKSTAB! If you jump away from them, face them, or you will regularely die until your noob ass checks the combat log and posts this comment.
