  • @hammeredtravis
    @hammeredtravis 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    I think it's important to note that the gap you mention between the PC and your sternum is likely due to the plates rather than the PC itself. Multi-curve plates conform to the shape of your body much better than single-curve plates do. For those that don't know, multi-curve plates have a bend in the plate in both the vertical and horizontal axis, while single-curve plates have a bend only in the vertical axis. The added bend in the horizontal axis brings the top of the plate much closer to the upper sternum area.

    • @seandlax9
      @seandlax9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those type of videos are terrible for showing the difference between quality of firearms. The difference between an Anderson and say a Radian isn't necessarily features (which a Radian clearly blows an Anderson out of the water), but in the quality of machining and QC. Sure, YOU might get an Anderson that runs great, but the risk of getting one that's out of spec is significantly higher than your more expensive brands. You only get that by looking at sample sizes in the thousands. It's the same for all firearms. You always get that guy who claims that his singular Taurus G2 or Canik runs great, but that doesn't dismiss the overall numbers of failures in comparison to better brands. Firearms are like computers or cars. You get what you pay for.

    I have a jpc 1.0. Great carrier! Light weight, allows for great mobility, and forces you to really only add essential pouches for gear. But as a 11b it’s sucks for load bearing and doesn’t allow space for all the things infantry makes you carry. I’ve made it work to carry 7 mags, ifak, 1 gp pouch one Nvg pouch for pvs 14’s and a radio pouch. If you like crye, the Cage PLate carrier and Avs are more suitable for load Bearing. Excited to get the k19 Agilite!

    One of the most durable plate carriers that I own is a fitness carrier made by Wolf Tactical that I use for workouts and as an actual vest.. It is designed for Crossfit and strength training so, and. It can handle 20 lb. fitness plates. This said, it is very well made and the stitching has held up well. It can be loaded with ar500/550 plates and trauma pads which eliminate plate slop/play. You can also swap out the cumberbund for a model that holds side plates and it will give you an all around good rig.

      come to the US. You can enlist up to the age of 35 or something like that in the US Army. Enlist on a six-year 11X contract, and make sure to get an Option 40 if you can. With that setup you’ll be able to go to RASP and hopefully get assigned to a Ranger regiment. Being in special operations will definitely give you the weapons training and experience you’re looking for.

    • @DaveSmith-cp5kj
      @DaveSmith-cp5kj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what your education is in college, but as far as being within the EU, you aren't going to have much of any options unless you get hired in one of the few military contracting companies or you join LE. I went into contracting and then worked for the US gov and then later got an American citizenship, but again, I don't know what your skillsets are, so that may not be an option. I will say that if you become an American, you probably will get access to better weapons training as a civilian than what the military or LE (even SWAT here) provides. Our company gave our senior most members money to go take classes in America and then teach the lessons to guys back home, and that's where most of our training came from. Anything involving heavy ordinance or tracking and stuff we trained in Southern Asia.
      The only thing is that the time to immigrate to America was during Trump when they were looking for guys with skills (any skill, not just military oriented). Right now as a European you are going to have a lot of trouble immigrating here as they are specifically discriminating against white people coming in since we don't "vote the right way". Your only real hope at this point is get a tan and convert to islam or learn spanish. You think I'm joking, I'm not. I did intel dissemination side with the feds and that stuff actually works during the democrat administrations. As Enzo said the military is one way to get citizenship especially since everyone is leaving the military. You will only have issues joining if you were an expat before since that's a red flag unless you have clear proof of employment throughout your time out of country. Don't expect to do gun stuff in the military though, you can push for what you want but ultimately you don't really get to choose what you want to do. For one they want younger guys to get a return on their investment since training is expensive, and also you simply need to be super fit in order to be competitive in the first place. They really don't want you to be leaving after six years, they will only push you up if they think they will get at least 15 years or so out of you, so keep that in mind when you talk to them. This applies to contracting as well (again unless you have some kind of really obscure expertise such as aircraft mechanics, etc.)
      Or you can join the RIRA. lol

    There are two markets for plate carriers: military/ LE and civilian. The civilian is for WROL events like Portland and Seattle a few summers ago. During civil unrest, something is better than nothing and Condor fills the value market well. Stepping up toward the professional level, the higher performing carriers fit the role. For myself, I run the Cree JPC 2.0. A great video showing the comparisons

      Spartan does lots of sales, and they have other plates besides steel, but that's what I prefer.

      Definitely not comparable to similar PCs in the same price range. I’m returning my K19, because it’s too “One Size Fits All” which is never a true one size fits all since that’s impossible. Too much material and too bulky for what it’s trying to achieve. Everything else is great in the modern approach they’re taking, but execution is poor. They need to narrow down the market they’re targeting or offer more options for more body types.

Do this in a POG camp to make them look bad for extra cool points with the boys. And you have 10,000 USD worth of free shit. Works every time.

    Love my Thorax PC. I have the thicker cummerbund with their side release. I definitely like it, but I'm gonna grab the Axl equinox cummerbund. Also added the Axl structural shoulder pads to the Haley. Helped distribute the weight well when running DfNDR level 4 plates with a fairly full carrier. Also really like the the piggyback system for self accessing the flatpack. Very well thought out and way better for civilians over zip on panels that require a team mate or time and space to doff and don the plate carrier

    I was torn between this and the Agilite K19, which most people are not familiar with Agilite (Israel Defense Force gear). I went with the Agilite K19. It's just as modular as the Crye Precision AVS, and with the same(similar) gear, plates etc., I'm at $1,700. I saved some money for a just about equally kitted platform.

  • @AlphaMachina

    That DFNDR QRC 2.0 is a slick carrier, especially for the price. But you can't ignore the price to performance of the Crye JPC, 1.0 or 2.0 (though, you can get the 2.0 for the same price nowadays.)

    If you're not using professionally, and buying Condor, go with the Vanquish. Vest is like $70. Has velcro and near universal swiftclips, which I've connected multiple rigs including Haley, etc up front. It's pretty cusomizeable, you can make any plates fit well, straps are decent for sub $100, you can run slick, add cumbers, add rigs, etc.

    I bought the condor mopc for that exact reason. It was cheap and i needed something asap. I'm 5'7" 190 pounds and it's definitely made for larger ppl. I can't tighten it enough. I also have the steel plates and this carrier makes them feel 10 pounds heavier. It's very loose. If you're not a large guy you'll hate this thing. You guys rock, keep the Shift Fire up! Love you both (no homo), you guys really know how to make someone smile whenever they’re having a bad day!
    Say, aren’t you guys also gonna try out the Crye Structural Plate Carrier (SPC)? That one is like $170 or $180, which is pretty inexpensive compared with the JPC, however, there are couple of things that make this plate carrier a whole lot better than the ordinary JPC.
    - Is as slick as the JPC
    - Has waterproof laminated fabric which gives it overall durability without compromise of it tearing itself apart somewhat like the stretchy part of the JPC
    - Has zip-on panels at the rear plate bag, along with laser-cut MOLLE
    - It’s skeletal cummerbund being lined with rigid plastic inserts is what gives it the best load bearing capability derived from the AVS and CPC

    • @Fluffyxx
      @Fluffyxx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The SPC price is in line with the JPC 2.0. The SPC does not come with a cummerbund, once you add it the prices are essentially the same. Other than the really crappy cummerbund mounting method the SPC feels superior in every way I feel like.
