@@stevenroberts7508 strongmen lifts are way heavier than anything there. There was only one exercise that required some strength. None of them were well known strongmen. A non strong man can have better grip strength if using grip strength is part of their routine that isn't surprising for someone who lifts weights. Grip strength is well known to be weakness for those who lift weights which they need to work. It is virtually unheard of anyone training grip strength daily. Average person who lifts weights doesn't train grip. This isn't as shocking as people are making out. Those really know about grip strength should expect a serious climber to have some advantages
@@Shia.Ahlulbayttotally agree, almost everyone in the gym my age and 5 years older, small and big don’t have any good grip strength cuz some of them train like pussies and don’t do some pull ups they rather go do some stupid machines and use gloves and straps to help their already weak ass grip. But the truth of the matter is an average small normal non lifter 50 years old would literally break my fingers in a handshake and I have a grip of 90kg on the dynamometer and I’m 16 and very strong. It’s really surprising to me how weak my generation is especially in the US.
Grips strength is so important, whether you are a grandma like me, or a pro climber. I’m inspired to keep my hands strong. They have served me so well, even with my arthritis.
I’m glad they acknowledged your “pound for pound” achievement, because it really shouldn’t go unmentioned that your lifting just as much as these guys while weighing half as much. If there was a dead hang test you would without a doubt get first.
While I don't want to take anything away from him, he did an awesome job, there's a reason why most strength sports don't use pound for pound metrics - because strength doesn't scale with size.
This just got me thinking, it's funny how as kids would could spend hours swinging and hanging on monkey bars and not get sore. It seemed like no big deal at all. Now as adults we set goals for ourselves like 1-2 minute dead hang and it's very hard.
@@MattMaxwell The value of strength depends on what you are doing, so I think you are diminishing his achievement with this qualification. Who would I want to save me from rapids? One of the strong men. Who would I want to be if I had to save myself? Him, unquestionably.
It's always cool when athletes from other sports can kick butt in specialist competitions like this. Weight adjusted you were doing incredible. Impressive in its own right, this also gives me extra appreciation for climbers at the top levels. Strong is strong. Inspiring!
I remember watching a thing called Rexona men of sport. They had pros from a variety of sports competing against each other in heaps of different challenges. Surprisingly, the race car driver won the most points overall, absolutely dominating in the challenges that required stamina.

When Theo said "You won the strongman competition dude." I think he meant that shit genuinely, at least in his mind. He seemed super stoked for you and with good reason. What a showing man. Takes guts to go up there with dudes twice and three times your size and genuinely compete. You fuckin killed it dude.
@@JonaxII Oh I know, I'm just saying that Theo made the acknowledgement. Lets be honest, a lot of people who compete don't see that necessarily as 'winning the competition'. Yes, it's an achievement for sure but most people are primarily concerned with their own weight-class and how much they can lift vs someone in said class. Theo truly sounded like he legitimately believed the dude won the competition and was obviously incredibly impressed.
It was probably intimidating to see a bunch of hulking dudes when he walked in. But it was a grip strength competition and he already knows he has insane grip strength. And while there were a couple of events where not having ungodly strength was clearly going to be a disadvantage, in most of them it boiled down to grip strength. Guys were failing not because they couldn't lift the amount of weight they were attempting but because they just couldn't hold it.
Reason why these big men are so chill and friendly is because they don't have anyone to prove anything to apart from themselves. Such a wholesome bunch. Theodor Mar is a super fun cuddly polar bear.
Just like most trained fighters that I jave met. There are outliers (Matt Hughes for example), but most good wrestlers, boxers, and BJJ guys are really chill. Some of my best friends growing up and in college were fighters. They never started anything and walked away from most altercations because they had nothing to prove.

As a strongman fan, it's really interesting to see how your approach varies from theirs? In a lot of contexts (particularly with big lifts) if a strongman fails the first attempt they've spent so much energy that they rarely succeed on the second or third attempt. But there are a lot of instances here where you tried something, failed, adjusted, tried again, and succeeded, which was nice to see
Strongmen use their strong muscles to force big things to move. This legend is using the tension in his body to allow the weight to move. A smooth transfer of energies. Fundamentally, he is rock, rock is he; if only for an instant. Just takes a sec to math it out at first. Muscles are for support to hold the tension, not for forcing things to move. You just have to ask kindly, so to speak 🥰😜 Sure seems to be a very painfully common misconception with gym folk at large 😅 Give Tai Chi a go !! 🤩✨🌈❤️
@@asellandrofacchio7263 difference in expectations and interpretation. As somebody who knows nothing about rock climbing and a lot about watching Arnold Schwarzenegger body train it's impressive. Rock climbers train for endurance body builders trained to gain muscle and strength so that this guy having both I think it's impressive he kept up with the body builders.

So him being able to pick them up and placing that high in the midst of people who train specifically for it is more than impressive.
I have such a deep respect for the dudes who know their limits and don't push themselves for certain lifts if they try it and can't do it, because that mindset can get you permanently injured if you're not careful.

The farmers lift is such a cool name. Every other week or so i walk home from the grocery store, carrying two six-packs of of 1,5L (so 2 times 9Kg). Here youre standing still but just the thought of a farmer carrying home an insane amount of equipment is awe-inspiring.
Him even lifting that at all is absurd, people who don’t lift might not get that’s more than double what would be considered a strong male deadlift (315 lbs, ~142kg)

@mattwinstanley1980 That's exactly what I came to say. I lifted at a strongman gym for a couple years and my max dl was less than 300lbs. The owner had this exact farmers carry set up with 500lbs and I picked and held it for a while, and definitely could have put more weight on.
What I appreciate is that even though this competition is heavily biased towards maximum strength, all the guys there are totally respectful and cheering you on to push records. I’d love to see them extend to add a few things that do not favor bruit force (like a hanging endurance, where higher weight and size works against the individual)
i think it's not about "oh, he can not lift weight that i can" is more about "well that last one was hard for him. No way he is already doing next one? He spent like 15 seconds preparing and lifted it with the help of god this is definitely his limit! Omg he's doing another one?! HOW IS HE STILL GOING?! THIS IS MINDBLOWING 🤯"
As a 6'5" 290lb aspiring strongman myself, I just want to speak a bit about the extremely positive reception and experience you had.. in my personal experience, the strongman community really is one of the most welcoming and kind fraternities on this entire planet. The support and appreciation that everyone shows each other honestly brings me to tears sometimes.. I often think about the way people treat other in the real world, and I wonder why so many people are so rude and uncaring towards each other. I think about all of the people that are rude and condescending towards each other without a second thought. I don't know what it is with some people.. I always come back to the same old expression that "hurt people hurt people". I'm a big, strong, scary looking guy and even I am not exempt from it.. Out on the street, nobody dares to disrespect me, but in my professional life even I deal with it all the time. People think they can treat you any type of way when they realize you have built a life that you're proud of, they know you wouldn't dare to blow it all up over something so stupid. When you're big, some people just can't help themselves from sizing you up and trying to get a rise out of you. I try to remind myself that the only reason people do this is because they're hurting too. They don't know what to do with all of that pain they carry around and it literally becomes toxic inside of them. Eventually it just spills out. I just wish people could be as a kind and supportive towards each other like the strongmen. Sorry for the rant.
I am a small women with a tiny dog amd i get harassed a lot. I always wonder how life must be if you’re a scary looking dude, i wish people would leave me alone when i am outside. I used to have a big, scary looking dog and he scared away a lot of men. Since he is not around anymore i feel very exposed. I totally understand what you mean by „hurt people hurt people“. Most of the time i try to ignore it and just be on my way. Sometimes it gets quite obscene because my silence is being interpreted in a certain way and provokes quite extreme reactions.
Its interesting, I used to be deep into the parkour/tricking community and its the same thing. I think any community of people who are focused on feats of physical ability at the highest level are like this

To determine your strength "pound for pound", multiply your coefficient (to the right of bodyweight listed) by the weight that you lifted to determine the Formula Total (FT). The lifter with the highest FT is the strongest person "pound for pound". Lbs. Men.

Climbing is about grip strength to body weight ratio. I used to climb and work at a climbing gym. It was fun watching big muscular guys come in thinking that they would crush it only to flail miserably on fairly easy bouldering problems or top rope routes. This video is a testament to the strength and efficiency that rock climbing develops.
I love bouldering so much but there's only been like a total of 2 years of my life where my body fat % has been low enough to not die from embarrassment doing it.

If you like strongwoman content definitely check out Big Loz Official-- he's a (mostly) retired strongman who is a big proponent of the sport and he and his wive have done a great job bringing the female competitors to the forefront.
I've often wondered for every specialized athlete out there if there is just some guy who can outdo them because it's what he does for a living kind of thing. Like the Ninja Warrior guy who was just a fisherman and regularly won over people who trained specifically for the event. I know he trained too to some degree, but I've always thought of it as "practical" strength vs "ideal" strength. Like, lifting things in very prescribed ways vs situations you'd actually encounter in real life. I get that you should lift stuff in the most ideal way possible to protect your body, but some things are just hard to do the "right" way, like leaning over a fender to pull a head off an engine.
Haha that was so fun to watch. Normally these "climber vs. strength dude" videos are a bit forced and awkward but this was so wholesome, entertaining and exciting. Thanks for the great content.

It is a thing for sports where the real competition is really with themselves and their personal best. Yes, there are "winners" but really everyone is trying to beat their own benchmarks and improve. It changes how people approach the other competitors.
It so cool that you go into something like this and blow everyone's minds but remain so humble about it and respectful to the guys who train strongman and grip strength exclusively. Props
Pound for pound best lifter is first place of the whole thing in my opinion. He not only doesnt have the muscle mass of these other guys but his hands are like half the size. Imagine if you scaled him up proportionally? He would break serious records. Incredible
He doesn't have the muscle mass, but he also doesn't have the dead weight that the strongmen do. Pound for pound obviously favors a climber, whose main sport is about maximizing his strength-to-weight ratio aka "pound for pound" in the first place.
I think there's some diminishing returns here, and it would take quite some time to put on comparable muscle mass, very impressive but he probably wouldn't maintain that ratio all the way up to strongman weights.

Many do. When I used to do amateur lifting way back in the days they had this award and its all I cared about since I was only 152lbs. They called me Antman though because I could lift pretty good. Just sucked so bad at squats.

I spend entirely too much time watching TH-cam videos and don’t even know what rabbit hole I went through to get to this video but without a doubt this is the best video I’ve watched in quite a while. Good job matching up with the big boys in this competition. You certainly earned their respect and my admiration.
I actually figured that the rocks would be your worst, given how it was a "how many" not "how heavy" since rock climbing is like 90% choosing the correct holds once youre strong enough to hold your weight and a lot of those rocks looked like pretty bad holds for me, you did amazing on that in comparison to what i would do.
The other guys absolute strength puts them above his "ratio lifts". Absolute strength is king. The only people who think about bodyweight are the skinny guys.
@@Johhny_BRespectfully disagree. Absolute strength is, of course, a valid metric of strength, but relative strength denotes a measure of technique, or skill. That is to say, it is not just the size of one's muscles but how they are best utilized. Some people are genetically going to be smaller than others, and that will affect how much muscle they can produce and how well those muscles grow, so a competition of skill helps to negate that genetic bias.
That is really cool how your targeted grip training beat all these goliaths who presumably train it a little but likely prioritise more standard lifting exercises to build huge muscles. It's also really cool how it demonstrates that a good climber can support more than their whole bodyweight in just their fingers on either hand which sounds obvious when you see a climber in action but I never really thought about how crazy that is.
And wearing what look like blue jeans*. Not very athletic gear. *i know there are some jeans out there made to move like athletic clothing so maybe wearing those.
Many climbers do well in Grip Sport. Carter Colleaux of Canada came 3rd overall in the King Kong Grip Challenge (probably the biggest grip competition) and he's in the 83kg class. Yves Gravelle is another stand-out. You should enter King Kong in 2024, if there are no venues in Sweden there definitely will be in Finland. 110% BW Inch lift is outstanding.
Being leaner actually helps grip strength so it's not that suprizing smaller guys do well, especially if they had the time and recovery ability to develop grip over everything else, but still mind blowing to see
As a fellow climber I'm loving the increasing frequencies of this type of cross over event/training. I am excited to try some myself and this video also provided some basis as to what a good pinch lift is.

Trying to hold 80-100 LB , not kilo, dumbbells to do shrugs with kills my hands so bad. I can’t imagine the calluses you have being able to literally double that in your grip strength. Insane .

Honestly, I don't care much about this type of stuff and have no idea why this popped into my recommended, but damn dude, you and all of the other people in this competition are awesome. I recently bought one ten kilogram dumbbell (hope that's the term for the small one hand one) (it was used and the person offered it to me for 1€, so I couldn't refuse) and struggled to carry my package up the stairs, so huge respect to everyone who can do more, especially since I've been exercising a lot and definitely wouldn't have been able to lift those 10kg without said exercise over the last month. I can't even begin to imagine doing stuff like this, so yeah, you and everyone else there are just awesome and truly show the limits of humanity.

The fact that you were able to lift the proper Thomas inch and beyond is super impressive. It's worth noting that the actual 78kg/172 lbs Thomas Inch Dumbbell has been a bit of a sacred cow for lifters for ages, and the clean and press that Theodor Mar mentions early in the video has a bit of a storied history. Thomas Inch, the man the dumbbell is named after, was an old timey strongman performer who dared people to merely lift the bell, and then did the full clean and press, but was rumored to have gimmicked his lifts. The bell was only confirmed to have been properly cleaned and pressed for nearly a century was Mark Henry a pro wrestler and power lifter in his own right. And while strength sports have advanced plenty since then the original Inch dumbbell remains a benchmark.
@@EmilAbrahamssonThat's because Climbing is more a Solo thing. Strongman, unless Half Thor is there, it's scored and such but everyone still wants to see their competition succeed. Strong Men don't want to Win because their Competition couldn't do the Farmer's Carry, they want an epic hold off for as long as possible and win that way.
You are an absolute beast. To do these events with zero training and to excel is just incredible. It shows how world-class climbing is as a fitness category. The problem with these events is that the bigger and stronger you are, the better you will do because the weights are relative to your body size. To finished ninth against guys who are twice your size is off the charts incredible. They should have weight classes and then you will walk out with many gold medals. Well done! (Frankly, winning best pound for pound lifter means you are truly the strongest at the entire event!)

I used to weigh 145 lbs. I was in the moving and storage business. Moving safes, pianos and other heavy stuff. Now I am 123 and weaker. Grip strength fail. If you are keeping strong safely folks, do not stop like I did. At 69, I know I can do better. Thanks for the video!

It's always cool when athletes from other sports can kick butt in specialist competitions like this. Weight adjusted you were doing incredible. Impressive in its own right, this also gives me extra appreciation for climbers at the top levels. Strong is strong. Inspiring!
I remember watching a thing called Rexona men of sport. They had pros from a variety of sports competing against each other in heaps of different challenges.
Surprisingly, the race car driver won the most points overall, absolutely dominating in the challenges that required stamina.

@@JonaxII Oh I know, I'm just saying that Theo made the acknowledgement. Lets be honest, a lot of people who compete don't see that necessarily as 'winning the competition'. Yes, it's an achievement for sure but most people are primarily concerned with their own weight-class and how much they can lift vs someone in said class. Theo truly sounded like he legitimately believed the dude won the competition and was obviously incredibly impressed.
It was probably intimidating to see a bunch of hulking dudes when he walked in. But it was a grip strength competition and he already knows he has insane grip strength. And while there were a couple of events where not having ungodly strength was clearly going to be a disadvantage, in most of them it boiled down to grip strength. Guys were failing not because they couldn't lift the amount of weight they were attempting but because they just couldn't hold it.
The sandals amidst the multiple heavy objects is shooting that anxiety through the roof. 😂 Congrats on your first go! Did spectacular!
Reason why these big men are so chill and friendly is because they don't have anyone to prove anything to apart from themselves. Such a wholesome bunch. Theodor Mar is a super fun cuddly polar bear.
Just like most trained fighters that I jave met. There are outliers (Matt Hughes for example), but most good wrestlers, boxers, and BJJ guys are really chill.
Some of my best friends growing up and in college were fighters. They never started anything and walked away from most altercations because they had nothing to prove.
Well, they are probably the strongest dudes in their circle so nothing left to prove.

As a strongman fan, it's really interesting to see how your approach varies from theirs? In a lot of contexts (particularly with big lifts) if a strongman fails the first attempt they've spent so much energy that they rarely succeed on the second or third attempt. But there are a lot of instances here where you tried something, failed, adjusted, tried again, and succeeded, which was nice to see

@@WaterCheetah I think this is likely. The other guys all know they're using the correct technique, so if they can't do it, they can't do it.
Strongmen use their strong muscles to force big things to move. This legend is using the tension in his body to allow the weight to move. A smooth transfer of energies. Fundamentally, he is rock, rock is he; if only for an instant. Just takes a sec to math it out at first. Muscles are for support to hold the tension, not for forcing things to move. You just have to ask kindly, so to speak 🥰😜 Sure seems to be a very painfully common misconception with gym folk at large 😅 Give Tai Chi a go !! 🤩✨🌈❤️

Rock climbers train for endurance body builders trained to gain muscle and strength so that this guy having both I think it's impressive he kept up with the body builders.

I have such a deep respect for the dudes who know their limits and don't push themselves for certain lifts if they try it and can't do it, because that mindset can get you permanently injured if you're not careful.

The farmers lift is such a cool name. Every other week or so i walk home from the grocery store, carrying two six-packs of of 1,5L (so 2 times 9Kg). Here youre standing still but just the thought of a farmer carrying home an insane amount of equipment is awe-inspiring.
That is unbelievably impressive, man. You not just participating but actually competing with the giants is crazy good.

@mattwinstanley1980 That's exactly what I came to say. I lifted at a strongman gym for a couple years and my max dl was less than 300lbs. The owner had this exact farmers carry set up with 500lbs and I picked and held it for a while, and definitely could have put more weight on.
What I appreciate is that even though this competition is heavily biased towards maximum strength, all the guys there are totally respectful and cheering you on to push records.
I’d love to see them extend to add a few things that do not favor bruit force (like a hanging endurance, where higher weight and size works against the individual)

As a 6'5" 290lb aspiring strongman myself, I just want to speak a bit about the extremely positive reception and experience you had.. in my personal experience, the strongman community really is one of the most welcoming and kind fraternities on this entire planet. The support and appreciation that everyone shows each other honestly brings me to tears sometimes.. I often think about the way people treat other in the real world, and I wonder why so many people are so rude and uncaring towards each other. I think about all of the people that are rude and condescending towards each other without a second thought. I don't know what it is with some people..
I always come back to the same old expression that "hurt people hurt people". I'm a big, strong, scary looking guy and even I am not exempt from it.. Out on the street, nobody dares to disrespect me, but in my professional life even I deal with it all the time. People think they can treat you any type of way when they realize you have built a life that you're proud of, they know you wouldn't dare to blow it all up over something so stupid. When you're big, some people just can't help themselves from sizing you up and trying to get a rise out of you. I try to remind myself that the only reason people do this is because they're hurting too. They don't know what to do with all of that pain they carry around and it literally becomes toxic inside of them. Eventually it just spills out.
I just wish people could be as a kind and supportive towards each other like the strongmen. Sorry for the rant.
I am a small women with a tiny dog amd i get harassed a lot. I always wonder how life must be if you’re a scary looking dude, i wish people would leave me alone when i am outside. I used to have a big, scary looking dog and he scared away a lot of men. Since he is not around anymore i feel very exposed. I totally understand what you mean by „hurt people hurt people“. Most of the time i try to ignore it and just be on my way. Sometimes it gets quite obscene because my silence is being interpreted in a certain way and provokes quite extreme reactions.

Climbing is about grip strength to body weight ratio. I used to climb and work at a climbing gym. It was fun watching big muscular guys come in thinking that they would crush it only to flail miserably on fairly easy bouldering problems or top rope routes. This video is a testament to the strength and efficiency that rock climbing develops.
I love bouldering so much but there's only been like a total of 2 years of my life where my body fat % has been low enough to not die from embarrassment doing it.

If you like strongwoman content definitely check out Big Loz Official-- he's a (mostly) retired strongman who is a big proponent of the sport and he and his wive have done a great job bringing the female competitors to the forefront.
I've often wondered for every specialized athlete out there if there is just some guy who can outdo them because it's what he does for a living kind of thing. Like the Ninja Warrior guy who was just a fisherman and regularly won over people who trained specifically for the event. I know he trained too to some degree, but I've always thought of it as "practical" strength vs "ideal" strength. Like, lifting things in very prescribed ways vs situations you'd actually encounter in real life. I get that you should lift stuff in the most ideal way possible to protect your body, but some things are just hard to do the "right" way, like leaning over a fender to pull a head off an engine.
Haha that was so fun to watch. Normally these "climber vs. strength dude" videos are a bit forced and awkward but this was so wholesome, entertaining and exciting. Thanks for the great content.

Pound for pound best lifter is first place of the whole thing in my opinion. He not only doesnt have the muscle mass of these other guys but his hands are like half the size. Imagine if you scaled him up proportionally? He would break serious records. Incredible

He doesn't have the muscle mass, but he also doesn't have the dead weight that the strongmen do. Pound for pound obviously favors a climber, whose main sport is about maximizing his strength-to-weight ratio aka "pound for pound" in the first place.
I think there's some diminishing returns here, and it would take quite some time to put on comparable muscle mass, very impressive but he probably wouldn't maintain that ratio all the way up to strongman weights.

Many do. When I used to do amateur lifting way back in the days they had this award and its all I cared about since I was only 152lbs. They called me Antman though because I could lift pretty good. Just sucked so bad at squats.

I actually figured that the rocks would be your worst, given how it was a "how many" not "how heavy" since rock climbing is like 90% choosing the correct holds once youre strong enough to hold your weight and a lot of those rocks looked like pretty bad holds for me, you did amazing on that in comparison to what i would do.

The other guys absolute strength puts them above his "ratio lifts". Absolute strength is king. The only people who think about bodyweight are the skinny guys.
@@Johhny_BRespectfully disagree. Absolute strength is, of course, a valid metric of strength, but relative strength denotes a measure of technique, or skill. That is to say, it is not just the size of one's muscles but how they are best utilized. Some people are genetically going to be smaller than others, and that will affect how much muscle they can produce and how well those muscles grow, so a competition of skill helps to negate that genetic bias.

That is really cool how your targeted grip training beat all these goliaths who presumably train it a little but likely prioritise more standard lifting exercises to build huge muscles. It's also really cool how it demonstrates that a good climber can support more than their whole bodyweight in just their fingers on either hand which sounds obvious when you see a climber in action but I never really thought about how crazy that is.

Many climbers do well in Grip Sport. Carter Colleaux of Canada came 3rd overall in the King Kong Grip Challenge (probably the biggest grip competition) and he's in the 83kg class. Yves Gravelle is another stand-out. You should enter King Kong in 2024, if there are no venues in Sweden there definitely will be in Finland. 110% BW Inch lift is outstanding.
Being leaner actually helps grip strength so it's not that suprizing smaller guys do well, especially if they had the time and recovery ability to develop grip over everything else, but still mind blowing to see

@@up2me967 That's not true. You will always be lighter with less muscle. Being lighter doesn't mean being better. That is also true for climbing.

Trying to hold 80-100 LB , not kilo, dumbbells to do shrugs with kills my hands so bad. I can’t imagine the calluses you have being able to literally double that in your grip strength. Insane .
Your grip may help depending on the width. If you can wrap your fingers OVER your thumb

Not only are you a super impressive athlete, but the way you gave credit and publicity to your other competitors, the competition organisers and sponsors was really refreshing. Sure I won't be the only new subscriber you gain from this video, but just wanted to let you know that this was an excellent watch!
Honestly, I don't care much about this type of stuff and have no idea why this popped into my recommended, but damn dude, you and all of the other people in this competition are awesome. I recently bought one ten kilogram dumbbell (hope that's the term for the small one hand one) (it was used and the person offered it to me for 1€, so I couldn't refuse) and struggled to carry my package up the stairs, so huge respect to everyone who can do more, especially since I've been exercising a lot and definitely wouldn't have been able to lift those 10kg without said exercise over the last month. I can't even begin to imagine doing stuff like this, so yeah, you and everyone else there are just awesome and truly show the limits of humanity.

The fact that you were able to lift the proper Thomas inch and beyond is super impressive. It's worth noting that the actual 78kg/172 lbs Thomas Inch Dumbbell has been a bit of a sacred cow for lifters for ages, and the clean and press that Theodor Mar mentions early in the video has a bit of a storied history. Thomas Inch, the man the dumbbell is named after, was an old timey strongman performer who dared people to merely lift the bell, and then did the full clean and press, but was rumored to have gimmicked his lifts. The bell was only confirmed to have been properly cleaned and pressed for nearly a century was Mark Henry a pro wrestler and power lifter in his own right. And while strength sports have advanced plenty since then the original Inch dumbbell remains a benchmark.
@@EmilAbrahamssonThat's because Climbing is more a Solo thing. Strongman, unless Half Thor is there, it's scored and such but everyone still wants to see their competition succeed. Strong Men don't want to Win because their Competition couldn't do the Farmer's Carry, they want an epic hold off for as long as possible and win that way.

You are an absolute beast. To do these events with zero training and to excel is just incredible. It shows how world-class climbing is as a fitness category. The problem with these events is that the bigger and stronger you are, the better you will do because the weights are relative to your body size. To finished ninth against guys who are twice your size is off the charts incredible. They should have weight classes and then you will walk out with many gold medals. Well done! (Frankly, winning best pound for pound lifter means you are truly the strongest at the entire event!)

Deadlift need slight adjustment.. Bend your knees slightly more and dip your bottom lower to avoid damage to your back. Insane grip strength
I used to weigh 145 lbs. I was in the moving and storage business. Moving safes, pianos and other heavy stuff. Now I am 123 and weaker. Grip strength fail. If you are keeping strong safely folks, do not stop like I did. At 69, I know I can do better. Thanks for the video!
