    It is so good to have these wheels finally done! I did some research and found that they are actually factory wheels from a 70's era Jeep Wagoneer!

    Love the fact you used old slot mags, I finally found a set for my 78 620, wish I had a shop to work in, out in the street for me.

      Thanks! I want my 620 to have a somewhat period-correct feel to it. There will be some mods that are more modern, but I want it to be "vintage modern." If you like the wheels, wait until you see the interior I am designing!

    Wow they look great .the colour is amazing. You should do more powder coating videos. For someone like me who is new to powder coating. I like the way you went through each step at the end of the video .keep up the good work

      More to come! I try to do a video whenever I have something new on a project that will get coated, but I'm a little behind on work right now. I'm glad you appreciated the technique breakdown though. I see so many other TH-camrs giving terrible advice, so I started this series to hopefully get people quality results.

    Nice video man!! I am getting ready to do my motorcycle wheels fluorescent yellow. So i would pretty much do mine like this? White basecoat then bake until the wheel is to 400, let cool, apply fluorescent yellow then bake until the wheel gets to 400, let cool down then apply the clear and then do a final bake? All my powder is from Columbia Coatings, the clear is called Super Durable Wet Clear, i do not see any info however to bake the clear as you described.

    • @tinygaragefab
      @tinygaragefab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that would be the best way to go about it. I also don't have specifics on Columbia's powder, but I'm sure that the final cure would be 10-12 minutes at 400.

    What is your setup for providing dry air for powdercoating? Trying to set up my shop now

    • @tinygaragefab
      @tinygaragefab  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've had success with copper pipes mounted to the wall with three up and down loops and a drain at each low point.
      My setup now is an aftercooler from the compressor head before the tank, made from an F350 A/C condenser, then the copper tubes coming out of the compressor, followed by a refrigerated air dryer. It's so "extra" now because I need my air as dry as possible for my plasma table.

    What is the size of your oven?

    • @tinygaragefab
      @tinygaragefab  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is about 6' H x 4' W x 3' D. So yeah, its pretty big for a personal use oven.

    Why don’t you tape the back where the wheel goes so you don’t have to keep using towel

    • @tinygaragefab
      @tinygaragefab  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Proper high-temp tape isn't necessarily cheap, and the towel is free. I might have had to tape it twice as well, because sometimes it starts to peel and lose it's adhesion after a cycle in the oven. And for a large flat surface, this is just too easy. I'd tape a complicated piece.

      Came to ask the same question.
      I wasn't thinking about taping in the oven, but taping only during the spray, but that absolutely makes sense.
