  • The Big 12 football media poll came out this week. We agree on some of the picks and strongly disagree on others, so we rank every Big 12 team from 1 to 16. Plus, thoughts on our excitement level for Arizona officially joining the Big 12, which teams are likely to become rivals for the Wildcats, and which Arizona head coaches are most likely to leave the soonest.

Big 12 football is going to be awesome. Their fans are awesome I remember the OKSt game their fans were fun and expect the other fans of big 12 to be same. Tired of Oregon Oregon st Stanford ext. Don’t even mention cal. I am a UA alum local tucson born and raised the PAC 12 games only brought one good game a year to tucson. Season ticket holder since 1972

Exactly. You got better teams coming to Tucson. You’ll
Surely have more than one good game
      A year
      From
      Now on.

You want to pack the stadium, give free ticket to each of your season ticket holders if they can bring someone. I used ours for friends

If one plays high school (american) football for 4 years at least, their opinion can be respected. Back living in Tucson, was at AZ 2002-2006, fans got better last season. Went to Las Vegas bowl too for the W over BYU, was really cold in Vegas. Never smart to try to give bulletin board material to other teams. Haven’t researched any teams yet, but would think BYU & Utah would be strong. Also, went to the recent Alamo Bowl. Used to rock an Oklahoma cap back in late 1990s-early 2000s, respect to them. A lot of strong programs in this new league, might be more changes in later years, but here we go.

As not a Arizona fan, i feel arizona depth will cause a problem forthem this year. Utah tcu wv tech will be tuff.

Very good review by both of you. Shane is obviously wise; Arizona 3rd.
Yes, UcF will be a challenging environment. Every Big12 away game will be. UcF offense troublesome. I trust Akina pass defense and Noah/Dino to put up enough point.
Other than UcF there’s no opponent on AZ schedule (away) that’s concerning but for @Utah and @KState is non-con. AZ doesn’t play ISU, OSU, KS.
Utah #1, until Cam gets injured. The guy has history.
KState, OSU, and KS all 2-4 interchangeable. AZ doesn’t play OSU, KS.
So, with Shane’s excellent research, BiG12 Media’s knowledge of their mature Big12 member teams, and Eric’s contributions here’s my Top All State Good Hands Conference Teams, based on AZ schedule Home/Away vs teams 5-16, playing @ UU and @KState non-con ~
#1 is UU, #2 AZ, then KState, KU, OSU and everyone else below.
asU is bottom 1/2 with other Arizona opponents Houston, BYU, Colorado, TCU. WVU is borderline bottom 1/2 but plays @ Arizona.
Per Dino and Brennen: Dino’s offense is 75% last years playbook. 25% adding strategic plays from Brennen/Carter playbook. Play call language same as last year. Arizona added #1 RB in the portal. Oline returns with 1 need. Portal Oline adds seem adequate.
We all know Arizona Strengths/Weakness after Friday night on FOX, Sept 14. Wow!
Dino will remember Penn St National TV failure and should be prepared better. Also, Chuck is look’n at KState defense film for tendencies.
With a bye, AZ gets a battle @ UU.
Arizona has an OC 24/7 all season. No more HC/OC. Noah starts game 1 with backup getting significant time vs NAU and NM. Jedd.
Arizona record 10-2. Worst case, 9-3 based on schedule, O talent, OC prep, Akina Defense.
UU vs Arizona in BiG12 Title Game. Just an educated guess.

Im osu fan. I like your picks. You guys went with experience. Ksu defense might have depth but lost a lot of good players. Oline will be good but not as good. Ollie will miss 1 game. We have had it happen again 10 years ago.
The 2 tie breaker is wins against highest team played. So a poor schedule does hurt with weak schedule

BYU in Tucson will draw a lot of Saints. Up there, it's cold and the tailgating is bad. Arizona should now have a definitive recruiting angle for LDS players, accommodating their missions. That's a good way to obtain functional offensive linemen with old man strength, as well as a few Polynesians. Nothing will replace the Arizona relationship to California schools. That was tradition. Plus, demographers consider Arizona a west coast state, and not a mountain state.

Eric’s whack, us season ticket holders have plenty to look for. It’ll be nice to actually have opposing fans who care. We can’t average 85% full anymore, only sell outs from here on out

You guys will find out when KSU comes to town how hard life in the big12 will be. They’ll def be ranked when they come to town. And don’t overlook BYU at Provo. It’s a raucous atmosphere at LES. Seems most AZ fans think they’re going to walk all over this conference. I think AZ will be good but not top tier good. Maybe 8-4 or 7-5 and a bowl game. The big 12
Is the superior conference v the PAC. Utah just dodged a huge bullet w the Ollie Gordon incident. Lucky ba$tard$! I’m
Not handing the trophy to them they’ll have to prove it. It was getting predictable for them
In the PAC. I wouldn’t be surprised if they finish only 8-4 or 7-5. If Rising can avoid the MASH tent they have a shot but the man has a history. Texas Tech, overlooked badly. I’m shocked most only have them 9th or so. UCF being overlooked too. And who in the hell knows what Colorado is about 😂. I think they’re hype but if they start winning I won’t be surprised. You guys besides the 2 drab non conference games
There have much to look forward to. As a BYU fan we found out how rough life is over here. I thought they would win 8 games
Easy last year. Not so fast! And that’s the fun of it all. It will be un predictable. Go BYU and we look forward to seeing you guys up
Here in Provo. Get ready for a dogfight

Similar to Eric, as a football season ticket holder I'm not too excited about the home games on UA's schedule. However, it balances out with the home schedule for basketball as a season ticket holder. Excluding Duke, 3 preseason top 10 teams at home for conference play. The big thing about joining the B12 is this is going to look like what P10 basketball looked like 15-20 years ago. We're no longer hoping a UCLA and then one of Oregon, Washington, or Stanford has a good year. You have established programs with established coaches that won't look to be fading anytime soon. You can pretty much pencil in Kansas, Baylor, and Houston (while Sampson is there) as preseason top 15 programs.

I’d like to see some sort of original thought from you guys, there should not be a consensus on Utah winning in a conference where the margins are so thin. Seems like very little research or critical thinking went into this.

    • @EarlyEdgeEC
      @EarlyEdgeEC 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

First of all, I repeatedly said these aren't well-researched rankings as it's early-July. With that said, on paper, Utah is the best team in the conference. Should I lie and pick another team I don't believe in?

    • @FFdopester
      @FFdopester 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@EarlyEdgeEC No, but you already said these aren’t well researched rankings, so that explains why there very little variation from the consensus. Things very rarely work out as the preseason mainstream consensus thinks, so it would have made a midsummer rankings show actually entertaining to have some original thoughts. Instead this was show was just… vanilla.
