  • In this second video of our three-part series, I'll demonstrate how to paint a kitchen using Farrow and Ball paints. We'll be using Estate Emulsion for the ceiling, Modern Emulsion for the walls, and Modern Eggshell for the woodwork. Proper preparation, including cleaning and sanding, is crucial for a smooth finish. Apply a suitable primer before the topcoats. With Farrow and Ball's rich pigments, choose your desired shades and apply multiple thin coats for best results. Allow ample drying time between coats. Protect floors and furniture during painting. This video complements our previous tutorial on kitchen unit painting, forming a comprehensive guide to using Farrow and Ball paints in your kitchen. Let's continue our journey to a beautifully painted kitchen!

Hi Phil, before I set up an account to order some two fussy blokes rollers (at a sensible non-Amazon price), I remember in a video you showed other rollers you use which you rated for day to day use. I’m after 5mm and 10mm microfibre 4 inch and 10mm microfibre 9 inch but can’t find the video and wondered if you can help me out? If the fussy’s are the best then I’m happy to go down that route.

Nice colour scheme Phil, liked the floor covering… did you use any tape for joining?
I like the idea of the silo boys covers but they have a heavy price tag. I like to loosen then cut in but appreciate in a clients home you become liable if they have issues after your done.

Hi Phil, where should i start to paint a ceiling,? should i start by a window and work away from it or should i work towards the window from the opposing wall to the window, also should i paint parallel to the window or on the ceiling at 90 degrees from the ceiling, ? Away from the light or work towards the light?
    Thanks this always confuses me.

.... a video coming on this in august lol
use a roller, you can go in any direction.
Cut in, then work from the light (window).. it mainly so you you can see where the wet edge of the paint is, so move around so you can see where you're going the easiest

How soon after painting do you take your tape off please Phil. I left some on the floor edge for several hours to two coat skirting with eggshell and when I removed it a small section of paint came away like a piece of white cling film. Thanks 👍🏻

use a very sharp stanley knife and lightly go over the edge. you won't pull off any paint. Or re-apply the tape after each coat.

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator thanks Phil. On my latest project I can’t decide whether to paint the ceiling, then walls, then woodwork, or ceiling, woodwork, tape up as you did then do the walls. What do you think is the better approach for a non-professional for the best result (other than trial and error). I’m looking forward to trying the Arroworthy brushes.

@@Liverpool1ne ciling, wall and woodwork. use the arroworthy slash cut for cuutiging the woodwork to the walls.. and let me know how you get on.
If you sue tape, it may be the wrong one, pull off what you've done and make more work.
