Many people and churches say that we are all sinners, this seems to underhandedly say that dont worry about trying not to sin. You cant help be what you are...a sinner. This way does not seem to be scriptual.
A dangerous thing is leaving one another alone as men. Woe to him who is alone. Many try to gat into the family god as a replacement for true brothers fellowship. Good luck with that
Most moral sin and financial impropriety in the church starts from a wrong understanding of doctrine. When we get our theology wrong .... we are open to moral failure. Steve Lawson promoted the unbiblical doctrine of Calvinism. Still, all you Calvinists out there, need not worry .... Steve will still make it to heaven ... because he believed in the unbiblical doctrine of The Perseverance of the Saints (or OSAS). Also, he could not really help from falling into sin .... because he had been predestined to do so by his sovereign God. That sounds harsh ... but heresy is harsh ... but I have still prayed for Steve to truly repent .... of his immorality and his heresy.
Thank you @Ancient-paths. I encourage you to read Romans 7 again and then to adjust your comment about sin and impropriety involving a wrong understanding of doctrine. And, also read John 6, 10 and Romans 8 and Ephesians 1. That will help you with reformed theology, if you commit those to memory.
@@reformationbiblepres [1] I was simply providing an answer for the reason so many pastors fall from grace. This can be seen across the board from Catholicism (completely unbiblical) to Pentecostalism and the rest of the isms. That is the problem .... they are following a man .... whether it be the pope or Calvin or some new charismatic guru... and not the Word of God. Then their false theology can often lead them into immorality. [2] I do not need any help to understand Calvinism .... the Doctrines of Grace clearly show the conflict between Calvin's doctrines and biblical theology. I was in a Reformed church for 20 years before I saw the light ... and then it only happened through much prayer. You mention the usual passages regarding, for instance, The Perseverance of the Saints .... but ignore our Lord's warning in John 15:1-10 (and it is easy to compare that with John 10). Why do I mention all these things? I am concerned for Calvinists who are complacent regarding their sin (maybe Steve falls into that category), and ignore all the passages in God's Word that clearly warn against falling from grace.
@@Ancient-Paths this video is about church discipline and how to avoid falling into sexual traps. Nobody in this video is complacent about sin. You're bringing your outside discussions into a distinctly Presbyterian perspective.
So, it is Gods fault for letting him sin? Listen to his sermon on purity, he has condemned himself by his own words. Where are you people when pastors of other denominations have done this, stop trying to make this man any better than any others. He came forward because he is on the verge of being told on, or because of his great character, or because of his guilt. I don't understand why you are doing this for him and no other pasters, like Jimmy Swagart, Jim Baker, whom I don't agree with any more than Lawson, but you are making excuses for Lawson. The bible says we are drawn away of our own lust, and enticed. Then when lust has conceived it brings forth sin, and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.
@@EugeneHolley-rc6ry did someone make an excuse? Not in this video. But, we do talk about how to avoid such situations and how church discipline could have helped here.
@@reformationbiblepres Go back to the 2:12 mark on this video, why would God let his ministers fall, he had nothing to do with Lawsons decisions, he made his own decisions to sin, that is why he is guilty.

All of a sudden Calvinists have discovered forgiveness and mercy.
@@christianuniversalist What makes you say this? There is no forgiveness without repentance, certainly. You agree with that...don't you?
Praise the Lord for the information.
I like the video.
9:06 pretty sure you are referring to the United Methodist Church, not Presbyterians.
I was not referring to Methodist. Our Church is Presbyterian. Please, let me know what caused you to think so.
Please get that pacifier out of Ezra’s mouth. You’re going rot his teeth. I saw it happen to my buddy’s kid. It was awful ❤
He's our first pacifier kid. Great topic, maybe we will do one on the taboos surrounding child rearing today.
