Words of wisdom …….I love it . and ditto on “Yellowstone” ……while Kevin Costner has done some great movies , this show is Hollywood’s typical use of excessive violence and vulgarity (and I’m no saint by any standard). Slow down…..we should all heed this advice.
Same here, I envy this man's commitment to enjoying the simpler things in life. My wife and I as well as our two small children are seriously considering leaving the city life for a more simple way of life. God bless and best of luck.
@@mike.p.1400 Try sitting in L.A. traffic since you have the right mindset. My mindset is getting to work on time because my family depends on me to do it. I left the news and negativity behind years ago, and my life hasn't been better than it is right now. I don't have a TV and I camp often. Slowing down has had the best impact on my health than seeing a team of doctors.
It's to the point where artificial has even become artificial. I lived lies for so long but it was a mistake. I feel much better now having accepted that I don't need the acceptance of the fake masses because God and family come first.
Wife and I started out together very poor. One of the first things we bought was a percolating coffee pot. Made the best coffee and we still have it after 28 yrs.

Someone gifted my grandfather (WWII vet a mr coffee in the 70s or 80s when they first came out and he did the same thing, used it maybe once then put it away. When my mom asked him why he didn’t use it he said it didn’t get the coffee hot enough because he liked it “piping hot.” He used a percolator on the stove.
Dwayne is a modern day prophet. I could listen to him for hours. He has a fabulous voice and his philosophy on life is compelling. Bet his coffee is damned good, too!

Best coffee experience for me was my percolator over a fire in the Wasatch Mtns with plain old Folgers in the 1960s. Now I am a geezer and we grind our coffee fresh every morning from fresh roasted beans from Bisbee AZ's Old Bisbee roasters, delivered by mail weekly. No better coffee, but the experience is not so magical as that old campfire coffee. When we go up the mountain and combine the two, heaven is close at hand. I am greatful for Dewayne's simple approach to life.
Finally! A simple man with simple yet powerful message more folks need to hear. I've been of this mindset all my 65 years. And thanks for showing folks denim ain't dead. Plus, good coffee and a fine cigar in the Hill Country! "It don't get no better!"
My friends and I go camping about 4 times a year, usually on a friends land sometimes at a hunting lodge (yeah, not really "camping" but no cell or wifi or stoves). First one up is responsible to get coffee going (usually me). Nice sitting by a creek, perc in the coals, peace and quiet. Once everyone is up, we all get breakfast going (about 6 or 8 of us), more coffee made, games (and liquor) come out, then dinner. Life is simple, when you decide it should be!
Hearing a TH-camr talk negatively about people needing to be entertained by people on screens is always a treat. You're literally a part of the problem lecturing others for being a part of the problem. I know you mean well, but if you're so against screens... why are you on one?
You’re my kind of people. The world would definitely benefit from slowing down and doing things in a more collected and wholesome manner. There’s no substitute for a good pipe/cigar and a hot cup of coffee in the morning. Life is yours. Good stuff, brother!
Sir, you are as much a philosopher as a cowboy. Thank you for all your insights and wisdom as well as the instructive tutorials. Blessings to you and your family.
I rose before the sun, watched this as I was cooking my coffee, and went outside to see the sun rise. I cherish my peaceful mornings. Bless you and yours. 😃☕️
You are so wise. I appreciate your perspective of life. Been percolating my grounds on the stove every morning for at least 30 years. And yes, the Texas Hill country is beautiful. Blessings.
I have that same coffee pot in my camper I have had for over 25 years. Guy I used to Elk Hunt with got it for me. Ed passed awhile back. While at his elk camp, he had some rules. You leave your problems at the gate to get up here. You dont badmouth or bitch at his camp about people. Coffee is made in a peculator, not a machine. And most of all, you leave his camp a better person. Watching these videos remind me of Ed
I have consumed a lot of coffee in my life but the one most memorable was with my mom in 1983. We had just purchased some acreage near Chevron Canyon, Az and took a ride to check out the area. At midday I built a small fire and brewed some coffee similar to what you did in a pot like yours. While sitting in the shade we ate and drank coffee on our property for the first time. I have never had a better cup of coffee. Along with the aroma of the coffee there was the smell of the pinion pines, crows making noise and a nice breeze. Mom and I shared a lot of coffee and whiskey over the years but that day remains a treasured memory.
I remember way back when everyone had a percolator. When that thing got cranking, it would fill up the entire house with that angelic coffee smell. At my Grandpa's house I noticed that he would pour some of the steaming hot coffee in the saucer, blow on it for a second and either drink it right from the saucer or dump it back into the cup. At my tender age, I didn't realize that after the percolator is done, that's some scalding hot coffee. To this day, I want my coffee sipping hot, not luke warm that you get in a restaurant. Nice job on the video!
I roast my own beans and brew in a French press. I’m used to my coffee taking time. It’s worth it. It’s my time to slow down and relax. Same with how I shave. I use a straight razor. The extra few minutes it takes to make a lather and strop the razor is quiet time for me. A great way to start the day off right. Thanks for the wisdom, Sir.
🙌🏻 Finally someone else who doesn’t like Yellowstone. I made the mistake of buying it. Didn’t even unwrap the second dvd. Great talk. So glad we found your channel tonight. God bless!
Ukrainian folk here, and that's waht I was hoping but wasn't expecting to find. Each video is honest, real and down to earth. You are talking to us, you are not recording a video. Just you and us, viewers.
Forget Yellowstone, YOU need your own TV show. So much sage wisdom in these videos. Hope you get that land in TN, that's where I live. I'd love to have a cup of coffee around a campfire with you cowboy
I've got a college degree in the area of psychology and I have to admit to you are a natural human psychologist. SLOW DOWN is the best advice in this modern world.
Customize Our Coffee and Our Lives ! What a great Video and Once again a great message. It is our life and I believe God wants Us to find the Joy in it . You are right about a hurried life . Keep this message going 😇
I stumbled across your channel and so glad i did. It so nice to find someone who thinks like you! I like how you view life and your wisdom and willingness to teach what you know. I don’t watch TV any more I usually just watch down to earth people on TH-cam. I also use a percolator. I get my coffee ready the night before and than just plug it in in the morning. I also have a percolator that you can use on the stove or camp fire. There is nothing like percolator coffee!
That was some fine looking coffee. I could almost taste it. And thank you for preaching the slow down. The folks I know are so busy we don’t have time to enjoy each other anymore.
I like your way of thinking i am 65 retired commercial construction supt. Now that i am retired i had a hard time slowing down till i screwed up my back just had surgery now i have to slow down. thanks for your videos the world needs to listen
I watch your videos and you take me back to reality and slowing down. Everyone is in too much of a hurry. I'm old school and I like your way of explaining stuff. You make me relax. Thanks for your attitude
Well sir you have a new subscriber. Just found you this morning. This is the 2nd one this morning. My wife and I have slowed down a lot. In the last few yrs. Especially me. But enjoyed your vids.
Thank you so much for reminding me to.slow.down. That is exactly what I have needed to hear. Calm. Breathing. Take the time to enjoy the process. Bless you.
Dwayne speaks a lot of truth,, fortunate I feel like I’ve got a good amount of my life ahead of me and I realized to slow down early on, life is more enjoyable when you stop to appreciate it
Without evening knowing it I bought that same percolator last week (Coletti Bozeman). Man oh man does that thing make a fine cup of coffee! Been a while since I’ve used one, but 4 minutes was the trick, Thanks!
Thank you Sir! I have enjoyed each and every one of your videos. Not only do I enjoy the topic but I also enjoy the message you have to go with it. Thanks again!
I went in to get tips on making coffee. I walked away with so much more. “Slow down” is resonating with me right now. This was a beautiful video. Thank you.
I Know how to bushcraft, Camp and cook in the wilderness, and of course make coffe. But I really enjoy watching you do it in a great place when I'm stuck in the city and can't. Thank you. It's a calming thing that brings me back to where I need to be.
I like you. I'm buying myself a camping coffee percolator. I love the message too. Slow, quiet mornings with a delicious cup of coffee are my favorite.
Watching from the UK. This guy is great, we don't get to have this way of living I'm so jealous. Thank you so much for these videos and how free and relaxed you are.
You can begin to integrate these ideas into your life, if you choose to. Even though you may be limited by where you live, there must be places where you can do things your own way.
Great video . I have the same coffee pot and the aroma that comes out of that coffee pot is awesome! You’re absolutely right we all need to slow down. Thanks
I just stumbled onto your channel here and I must say that I have found a kindred spirit here. We both have been hit with the same club, if you will! I love what you're doing and I love this channel that I just found. I totally agree with you about "Slowing Down"! I'm 75 years young and have been down the road a bit. I'm fed up with the rat race, dog eat dog life and people and I have slowed down ON PURPOSE I live in Kingman Arizona and love the pace here. You do have some Commifornia transplants that seem to bring their crazy ways with them. I'm a transplant myself from there but have slowed down on purpose. I think that's why I identify with you so much. Do keep up the good work that you're doing.. And know that there is someone out here that is rooting you on! Keep the faith my brother!
This is exactly how we learned, and make our coffee. Enjoying the process and the fruits of our labor. We’re living our lives too fast. Thank you for the “facts” of a healthy lifestyle.
I love your good old fashioned common sense. I took a couple of old friends out back, made a simple camp fire and coffee. Took out my barlow jackknife and started whittling. My friends said, It's been over 40yrs. since we did this. I made a gift of the extra old school barlows I got for each of them. We all hade the best time (remember whening) and catching up on everything else. The simple thing fall by the wayside fare to often. Thank you for all the work it take to make your videos. God bless.
These videos are so nice! I percolated coffee over a fire for the first time with my friends on a trip recently, I did it completely wrong, but it was still cool to do it in a more involved way!
I came across your channel and it is like sitting by the fire with my late father. The two of you are from a time that we have set aside and forgotten about! We move so fast and are so consumed by convenience.... Love your videos as they speak a truth that unfortunately has been set aside. Why are we all rushing to the end of the trip when the journey is the most important part? Slow and easy! God bless and stay safe.
I really appreciated when Dewayne talked about checking out 'Yellowstone' from the library, hearing it'd mirror his way of life and appeal to him, only to find it's just Hollywood's glitzy take with no resemblance. It's a cool reminder of how real life, with its genuine, custom-made moments, often beats those scripted versions we see on screen. It's neat how he encourages us to seek out the authentic stuff over the flashy but fake. Thank you for the reminder to slow down. Keep the gold coming, Dewayne
Greetings from busy uk.loved your video. You are so wise and your voice is so calming that I feel relaxed right now. I need to learn how to slow down and drink coffee! ☺️
Hope your trip to Big Bend goes great. Was hoping to get out there this fall, did make it camping in upper hill country region on Blanco, Colorado rivers & McCullough Co Brady creek. Safe travels.
Slow down wait a minute is the best damn advise in life. Patience is the key to a happy relaxed life.
Every time I listen to Dwayne my stress level goes down and I'm cool the rest of day keep up the good works
Yes he has one of the most calming voice.
Ditto.
Agreed!
Yep ..But then I realise they're coming for our children
Words of wisdom …….I love it .
and ditto on “Yellowstone” ……while Kevin Costner has done some great movies , this show is Hollywood’s typical use of excessive violence and vulgarity (and I’m no saint by any standard). Slow down…..we should all heed this advice.
Came here for the coffee, ended up with a whole new look at life that is now making me re-think my entire life. Definitely subscribing.
I was just about to comment this and it’s my feelings exactly

It works wonders. The Dude abides.
😂💯💯💯
I'm 65. I slowed down 15 year ago. Slowing down and a few blessings is how I've made it to 65.....happier than ever.
Slowed down considerable after leavin the service ... slowed down so much I sometimes sense that I might be goin backwards ... which is fine by me.
Two cups of good coffee served in mismatched mugs off a cinder block. Perfect! Keep up the good work. 👍
It's a beautiful thing.

Yessir, great video. I hardly any TV other then old westerns on GRIT. I enjoy a good cigar and camp fire or cowboy coffee and relaxing.
Glad to see another good ol Southern boy bringing back the old days. Enjoy your videos brother.

My brother uses a percolator when we go camping, and it's so good. Thanks for the talk, Dwayne.
You are so right about slowing down. God bless you for this insight. We’re all in too big a hurry.
Completely correct about slowing down; we all have become a sheep. Thanks for your videos sir, Texan here myself. God bless

Thanks for the videos!
I've got a coffee pot just like yours, and make my coffee just like you do when camping. Great message too--I'm sold. Love it.
@AmericanPatriot14 To be honest, I've had it so long I don't remember who the manufacturer is. Sorry!
Forget Yellowstone, YOU need your own TV show. So much sage wisdom in these videos. Hope you get that land in TN, that's where I live. I'd love to have a cup of coffee around a campfire with you cowboy

Some of the best advice i have heard in a long time. Thank you Dwayne
What I wouldn't give to bail on school and come hang out with this guy. The wisdom is always appreciated.
Very Wise words my New Friend!
I watch your videos and you take me back to reality and slowing down. Everyone is in too much of a hurry. I'm old school and I like your way of explaining stuff. You make me relax. Thanks for your attitude

Your right on target. I know I fall in the category of needing to slow down. I also need to camp more and just relax with nature.
Thank you Sir! I have enjoyed each and every one of your videos. Not only do I enjoy the topic but I also enjoy the message you have to go with it. Thanks again!
I love that big red coffee container, looks very charming.
As the wind blows, the grass grows and the sky is blue. Slow down and notice. Good advice Dwayne, I'm with ya on this one.

Thank you for those encouraging words of wisdom. God bless you and your wife...
I am a new listener and I sure enjoy your life lessons. Thank you!
Great video .
I have the same coffee pot and the aroma that comes out of that coffee pot is awesome!
You’re absolutely right we all need to slow down.
Thanks
That was a refreshing talk on life and making the best life, as we want it. Not as everyone else, but as We want it.
Thank you and have a great day.
I'm glad this showed up in my recommendations. Subscribed
This is how I make coffee at Hunting camp so good so started making it this way at home. Great reminder to slow down. Enjoyed this video
Great relaxing video. Thanks for slowing me down and taking a few minutes to listen to reason.
God bless.
Sounds good. Thank you for sharing. God bless!
These videos are so nice! I percolated coffee over a fire for the first time with my friends on a trip recently, I did it completely wrong, but it was still cool to do it in a more involved way!
"Customize your life" I love it.Thank you Sir. 🖐🤠☕
You are so right. So very right. Thanks
Greetings from busy uk.loved your video. You are so wise and your voice is so calming that I feel relaxed right now. I need to learn how to slow down and drink coffee! ☺️
Love this we are camping in big bend for a week in November trying to get some ideas for early morning hunts
Hope your trip to Big Bend goes great. Was hoping to get out there this fall, did make it camping in upper hill country region on Blanco, Colorado rivers & McCullough Co Brady creek. Safe travels.
Tips and tricks to make better coffee and some good life advice 👍🏼
Good video my brother, life is to short, so slow down and smell the coffee. God bless 🙌.
