Love the videos man you’re living my dream job I weld in a fab shop 10 hr a day here in south east Alabama I learn the hard way with the torch lighter great idea just put something with it if you hang it on something it will break easy and not hurt your self 👍👍
Up here in Alaska this boat shop I worked at had these cool but expensive folding mobile tents that take up a medium sized duffel bag so he could weld outside, because the boat is too tall to get in the shop and it always rains hard up here. It would be a wise choice for your arsenal in the future😜
Tip.. I keep my striker on a retractable chain key ring. Works like yours keeping it on your waist but you can light your torch away from your body aka: private parts.
something that can help with those long straight cuts is something called a whiskey hand. essentially a piece of angle, who ever long you need it clamped inline with what you want to cut. simply cut and go, makes it look like a machine did it.
Bro get some dual shield flux core for your suitcase run it with co2 it's ductile material just like 7018 but with about 4 Times the deposition rates alot better than running that t11 self shielded flux core co2 shields really well in breezy conditions and it last forever
HiHi, you have very good equipment on the crane truck and you are equipped with CO2 welding, I liked the air cutting you did with the speed of operation, good luck
Wow I only hand tighten my torch heads. I Like the videos ! I've been trying to start a channel with my setup . I've been running my own truck for 3 1/2 years it's been a tuff nut to crack. But I have fun.
I keep kinda hearing you putting yourself down in your videos. No need too. You know what you can and cannot and you are you own boss. So pat yourself on the back brother!
Pick yourself up a magnetic burning square. (looks like a big brass tri square) I dunno what I did without one! Mine is made by Cruise Industrial. Money well spent!!
Nice video thanks for your time. Please help me on this. How much is good price per hour for a depende welder when you supply your consumables except material. Thanks.

guy near here wanted me to weld something similar, to make reproduction looking railroad poles, to sell at his antique shop, for RR signs & lights, however he wanted to pay a flat rate of $100 per pole, with him supplying metal. me suppling all the labor, and my welder? guess no one took him up on cheap wage, as I pass by several times a month, and he doesnt have any outside for sale.
where did you get the lincoln wire feeder?it looks good.i watched this video before i think it was one of the first i ever seen way back.I thought I'd give it another watch today as I enjoy a cup of tea here in Ireland this morning.top job as always on the work.
Hey Anthony I’m looking to get started on something similar to what you do. I’m having a dilemma with picking a work truck. The options are either a 3500 dually and custom building a welding bed the other option is going all out and picking up a a Cummins 5500 with a crane on the side….. I feel I’d regret not getting the crane but I’m wondering about the legality’s. Do you have to have the crane inspected every year? Does insurance charge much more for that? Please let me know thanks
It really depends what you want to gear your business for. I own and operate a mobile welding business and I only need a 1 ton (3500) truck. Ive never needed a crane. I would suggest you save the money and buy you a skidsteer. Also a dually already isn't fun to drive around. I couldn't imagine a bigger truck with a crane lol
Yes it’s flux core and for this application I’ll be alright. I got close to a full penetration weld. I welded the critical part with 6010 root and 7018 cap with pre heat on 2” . I did some cheating but I know it will work cause it worked on the last one I did
@Meltin Metal Anthony Flux core is not mig. Mig is GMAW hard wire.Flux core is FCAW. 6010 is not a pre approved electrode for structural. Pick up a copy of the AWS D1.1 . I'm done watching your videos, so many things wrong. NR 211 is not a structural wire either. It's for making go carts.
I’ve been welding in a shop for 20+ years mostly TIG . I’m now getting into working for myself doing mobile welding.Your videos are a huge help and I’m a big fan but I feel like you dropped the ball on this one . Prepping your metal before welding is crucial. Welding down hill is not recommended specially if you are able to weld in the flat . Again I’m a Big fan but wtf …
@@MeltinMetalAnthony not if you practice. used it for years filling and capping pipe welds for various contractors that had certs for the process. westinghouse,GE ,CBI to name a few
U need a partner with fan exp i got 20 years exp i can weld grind use common sense. Never wenr to school but got the exp from working. I can weld thick girl shit or alum cans lol be coop to here back from u. Roll one up then weld lol
Pro tip: After you torch your holes, drive a bull pin in there while the steel is still soft.
Cool I'm a welder also . Started out years ago as an ironworker, now days I'm an independent welder .
im planning on doing iron work as a welder is it good pay? and how long did you work till you become an independent welder?
That's some hefty base plate ! Surprised it never just ate up all the heat.
That's why he pre heated it

Hey man nice video, looks like a fun job, welds look good.
HI Anthony. I just came across your channel. Thank you for speaking using "non PC" language.

Thank you very much!
A tip for you, You can volume down when you weld with those generator because it very loud for youtube video.
Very nice job! 👌
Wire feeder definitely a good choice for this job 👍💯
You never tighten up a rose bud with a crescent
Great video and thanks for sharing! Stay Safe!
Beautiful welds.
NICE WELD & NO UNDER CUT TWO REEL NICE
Awesome, a 2 stroke engine driven welder!😂
invest in some pipe stands with rollers lol, can easily roll it wherever and not work on your damn knees all day lol
Getting it done 💪🏾
please do something about the welder noise in fast motion

Time for a plasma cutter.
Straight edge corner to corner to find center super fast.
I second that on Walter flap disks. They just don’t load.
Definitely not supposed to push with flux core.. if it’s got slag you drag.....
Question: Is it better to push/pull in certain situations or can I pull all the time? I mostly weld with MIG on super thin pipe.
I push on 5/6g pipe. That's just me tho.
Not true 😂
In welding school aren't you

nice!
Good job 😃😃😃 Thanks
Thank you too
So I noticed you used stick welding to weld the base plate to the tube, but then used wire fed for the angle plates. Why is that?
Why not position it flat?

i will check that out ! thank you sir!
They went out of business, no longer available.
Isnt a piece of angelbar as handy with small clamp, anything magnetic will be filthy of metal dust
Im new to welding can someone explain what 6010 is and why he would choose to use that over another rod?
Is the suitcase wire a gasless flux core?

no nozzle is that inner shield

remove mill scale before cutting and it will give an even better cut....great tip on the scoring, had never thought of that....cheeers

All kinds! Mostly harbor freight
A Columbia shirt for welding ? 🤔 All that buzzing was annoying , but it was a good video.
Looks like self shielded flux core. What type of wire? Any concerns with it cracking on the thick steel?

Does the baseplate need to be that thick ?

Well I hate to tell you that ain’t gonna work it will never hold

when straight cutting use a straight edge its common sense
