It's gonna be so pleasant seeing you tucked in down there in bad weather! Now, do you have a plan on how you're gonna get to & from the house in bad weather?!
This is really looking awesome Nathan, can't wait to see those vintage axe heads and hatchets on display on one of your timber frame shop walls in the very near future. Well done!
I just love the cedar. If you put the cedar on the door jams I think it would look just wonderful. A great build, I hope that you close it all up before winter.
Nice touch adding the cedar across the top. Your shop will look better than my home soon. You can become an interior designed if you ever decide to give up the wood gig. 😆
I simply love what you do. I worked for a manufacturer of fine wood office furniture for several years in Michigan. I miss those days and your channel brings back fond memories. Some of what I built has been useful to someone for over 3 decades now. I loved that work. Thank you for the content.
That red cedar is awesome, I made a handrail with it out my back door and it's still there. It hasn't rotted at all. It just weathered. Oh by the way, I'm in the Smoky mountains
That wall is looking really shape Nathan. The cedar across the top makes it stand out. What about using cedar for the casing as well? Think that would tie it all together.
Looks great ... like the Cedar accent. BTW, just know that Alexander the Great used "Olive Oil" on his Fleet of Ships ... waterproofs and also a natural insect repellent.
Shop is looking great sir, idea, how about using the cedar for the top of the inside of the door casing, especially if you were going to do the same board on the opposite side of the door it would look as if it were a beautiful cedar beam that carried through the wall. Great video as always sir.
Only thing id add to that transition piece. Counter sink the holes and drive the screws in a bit more. then cover the hole with either a button plug or a dowel plug. Not a fan of exposed screws but man do i love cedar.
Those slabs looked like they would make a great conference table. I was surprised that you didn’t blind nail the T&G. that is so cool that you made your own T&G. That cedar is awfully pretty. Just wow.
We call that wood "tongue and groove" in the UK and our "shiplap" is tapered and fixed over under fashion, its interesting how we have different terms for the same thing considering we speak the same language but then again variety is the spice of life!
Quick question: did you oil the back of that board? Many decades ago an old cabinet maker (and furniture) told me that sealing all sides is just good practice to keep wood from trying to cup. Don't have to be fancy but just seal the pores on all sides and pretty on anything that shows. Would hate to see that pretty cedar cupping later.
Should be beveling the ends of your T&G that stuff always shrinks on length. If you lap it at least you stay away from the black cracks. Good looking wood for sure.
Beautiful ! The woodworking is nice, but what I want to know is where do I get the same suspenders that you wear. They look to be more substantial than many others. Thanks.
I'd love to have a workshop like yours Nathan, all I have is a small shed (in American terms) and a small 9 foot x 21 foot back yard which is concreted. Can I swap you please, joking a side we didn't see what you did for doors. Or was your workshop open to the weather/hurricane? I certainly hope not, I wouldn't want to see the aftermath.
Nathan, if you have any of that red ceder or juniper you'd like to sale, let me know how much you'd charge for a 1/2" thick x 4" to 6" wide, x 6' to 8' long, per board. You don't have to worry about shipping. I just want enough to build a chest out of.
Finish used in video
I have you an 8-ft two-man buck saw that would look perfect arched over that doorway
I never heard of Odie's Oil so I checked it on Rockler's website. For a minute there I thought I typed in "Rockefeller" by mistake . . . .
Looks just like a hard wax oil, I use Osmo here in the UK. You don't need to be a millionare to use Osmo!!!
Love that touch of red!
Always busy with projects. Great.
Looks great
Thanks!
Your shop is lookin' so nice, you're gonna have to offer "tours".
It's gonna be so pleasant seeing you tucked in down there in bad weather! Now, do you have a plan on how you're gonna get to & from the house in bad weather?!
That Cedar is BEEEAUTIFUL.
Looking fantastic Nathan, loved the cedar addition, well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the smell of Cedar. Nice touch over the doorway 👍.
That cedar looks gorgeous with the oil on it!

Wow. I can't wait for the doors now
It must be very satisfying to take a log of timber and eventually turn it into that wonderful wall. Congratulations Nathan.

Beautiful cedar. You will enjoy that for years. Now get the door closed in before the rains.
That wall looks nice Nathan.
Wow 🤩 that looks right nice 👍, beautiful cedar wood 🪵 !!
I think you could Fram that doorway with some of the same woid from the top of the door. It would look so good.
Can’t wait to see how you build them doors!
You have really give me some good ideas I'm finishing out the inside of my garage. I really like that ship lap lumber
The new Milwaukee tape measures won't flop and bend like your Stanley.

Beautiful finish on the cedar… classy look!
The peace of cedar broke that wall up looks good
I just love the cedar. If you put the cedar on the door jams I think it would look just wonderful. A great build, I hope that you close it all up before winter.

I am also a fan of Odie's Oil. Reslly makes my Cedar projects pop!
Fantastic work as always, Nathan.
That cedar reminded me of purpleheart a little bit with how rich the color is.
Nice touch adding the cedar across the top. Your shop will look better than my home soon. You can become an interior designed if you ever decide to give up the wood gig. 😆
That cedar is a great statement piece!
I can just about smell that fresh cedar coming out of the machine
Nice contrast. Use the Cedar to finish the door jambs also. Where's Bruno miss the rides with him.
Wish I had your talent & gift
Nathan, what a great look on the Cedar.
I simply love what you do. I worked for a manufacturer of fine wood office furniture for several years in Michigan. I miss those days and your channel brings back fond memories. Some of what I built has been useful to someone for over 3 decades now. I loved that work. Thank you for the content.
Coming together great, it's looking amazing!
That's a great looking shop you have
Thanks 👍
Maybe it is just me; but, I really enjoy seeing things finished up. Also, Cedar is my favorite wood.
That red cedar is awesome, I made a handrail with it out my back door and it's still there. It hasn't rotted at all. It just weathered. Oh by the way, I'm in the Smoky mountains
Looks as if you are building a sawmill museum!!!!
That cedar was the reddest cedar I've seen. Makes a good break in the white of the wall. Well done
thats a cute little molder. that odies oil is so simple to make.
That cedar looks really good against that pine.
That wall is looking really shape Nathan. The cedar across the top makes it stand out. What about using cedar for the casing as well? Think that would tie it all together.
Nice pop with that cedar
Excellent good choice! ✅👍
Great content Nathan
That Red Cedar is beautiful Nathan 😍
That looks awesome Nathan
Looking good, Nathan. I kept reaching for the end of the tape to help you but you kept dropping it before I could grab it!
Bill
I put my finger on the screen, but it didn't work!
Absolutely beautiful. Love that cedar.
Looks great! A very nice feature!
Wow 1 of your videos yet !
My friend you have the best source of natural compost - tree leaves.
TY Nathan. 👍
I am building my shop and it will be nice but I do not have the material resourses that you have, your shop is fantastic, be proud of it.
Putting the cedar the whole length instead of just over the door sounded silly to me. Until I saw it done. Looks great.
Looks great ... like the Cedar accent. BTW, just know that Alexander the Great used "Olive Oil" on his Fleet of Ships ... waterproofs and also a natural insect repellent.
Great video: extremely informative. Thank you Sir.
Cinder block, the universal rural door stop.
Looks fantastic. Must be honest, never heard of Ode's Oil before !! Great finish, Nathan !!
Thanks 👍

Great video!
Thanks!
looking good!
Thanks!
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Only thing id add to that transition piece. Counter sink the holes and drive the screws in a bit more. then cover the hole with either a button plug or a dowel plug. Not a fan of exposed screws but man do i love cedar.
I love it!
That's nice; rustic, but not rough.
Those slabs looked like they would make a great conference table. I was surprised that you didn’t blind nail the T&G. that is so cool that you made your own T&G. That cedar is awfully pretty. Just wow.
Lol you really had me thinking apple sauce till you showed the oil. Made sense kinda because folks use coffee and tea lol
We call that wood "tongue and groove" in the UK and our "shiplap" is tapered and fixed over under fashion, its interesting how we have different terms for the same thing considering we speak the same language but then again variety is the spice of life!

Welcome!

I’ve made a $150 mistake by not covering the back of a 8’ 2x10 red oak that I’ve installed inside a yogurt shop in the 80’s.
You and me…old school education by the “old timers” . Finish all sides. Lap siding…Back prime. Table tops…bottom seal.
You got me! I thought, yes, he's finally flipped, he's putting ACTUAL apple sauce on his timber. This I have to see!!! ;-) Cheers
Damned nice board Sir!!😎👍
Should be beveling the ends of your T&G that stuff always shrinks on length. If you lap it at least you stay away from the black cracks. Good looking wood for sure.
Nice!! 🙂
Beautiful cedar! Why not wrap the doorway with some cedar also?
The finish on the cedar is beautiful where can you get the oddies oil
That's stunning iam making cedar shutters what would you recommend to put on them
Beautiful ! The woodworking is nice, but what I want to know is where do I get the same suspenders that you wear. They look to be more substantial than many others. Thanks.
Great job Nathan, did you bevel the ends, or just a but joint, don't matter to me cause it looks great
Does your planer and moulder put a snipe on the leading ends of your boards or have equipment manufacturers found a solution for that shortcoming?
Nice
The shop is really starting to look great. I have never seen a black nailer. What brand is that??
Nathan does oldies yellow the sapwood in red cedar?
