This couple is absolutely amazing and seem like they have a solid relationship. Which is so refreshing nowadays with our society. I wish them continued health, happiness and prosperity ❤️❤️
Eric & Arielle, you have so much to be proud of. It really must be an amazing feeling to stand out on your porch, look around & say," look what we did." Great job & thanks for letting us come along to enjoy it with you! 💜
I am really proud of you two. You are amazing with what you have accomplished over the years. I am 70 and my wife and I have been married over 50 years, and I understand what it takes to work in harmony. I wish you two the best of life for ever.
@fairhwalker. I noticed the hand hold too. Lovely to see how much appreciation they show toward each other. They are exceptional as individuals and stellar as a couple.
Eric for President! Dude, You get things done with the help and support of your 1st lady. You are both are the definition of take action and make it happen. Please never stop sharing.
Wow! This was once a field of weeds and rocks. Now there's a building with heat and electricity, on a concrete pad, with soon to be radiant floor heating. You did every single thing yourselves! Give yourselves big hugs!
I say this every time! I’m blown away by the extensive knowledge you both have in order to accomplish all the projects you tackle. Imagine how much money you are saving by not having to hire people. Eric you often say you are not an electrician or a builder, etc., however you research every project and make it happen with Ariel’s help! I’m so impressed with both of you and love that you are sharing this beautiful life adventure with all of us. It is such a gift. Thank you. 🥰
Although I've been watching for years, I still can't wait to see what you guys do next! You two are amazing at what you have accomplished. Looking forward to the next episode already!!!
Electric isnt that hard. People get intimidated cuz it can absolutely be dangerous. However if you have a lil geometry sense and research the proper gauge wire to use it’s actually very doable for an average homeowner. Very similar to plumbing when it comes to running ur conduit and wires.
WOW, it's as bright as Florida in there. You guys will be able to do lots of stuff this winter. Arielle, I wanted to give you a big hug when I saw you resting on the boys beds. I'm glad you kept them! It felt like a little bit of them are still with us. 🥰🥰
You two are amazing. I was a lineman ,electrician for over 50 yrs 71 yrs old now. Real top shelf job, that’s code all the way!! Love your channel!! Mike from Peabody,Massachusetts
Stick to the pole my brother... None of that is to code... None of his junction boxes are supported and you can't hang lights off there junction boxes.. the box is not supported.. boxes need to be mounted on unistrut.. pipe needs supported ever 8 foot..
@@timstull1355I was about to make the same comment. I’m not trying to criticize at all as he does a great job but when it comes to electrical work it has to be done right or you can seriously hurt yourself and your property…
I started watching this awesome channel back when they had about 60K subs. There were tons of comments like, "Why don't they have more subs?" "These guys should be more popular!", etc. That has resolved itself wonderfully.
Proud of your accomplishments. This winter is a game changer having this functional heated building. The video is always a pleasure to watch from the scenery, still shots, to the music. Thank you for sharing.
I truly enjoy watching you guys at work like this. I had an older brother who also was very handy at just about anything!! He would turn his hand to plumbing, electrical, building, gardening, you name it. I never knew how he knew to do all that he did but I was in awe of him. Also anything he undertook was done neatly & precisely. We lost him to a heart attack when he was only 53 & I miss him every day. Now watching Eric do so much around the homestead reminds me of him and I watch on with fond memories of him. ❤
My dad was just like Eric and your brother. He could do anything from building to welding to plumbing. I miss him every single day and can’t wait until I join him and my mom in Heaven.
I think what is great, apart from the amazing lights and electrical outlets of course, is seeing you being able to work in an outside building, in freezing temperatures, in short sleeves. Having heat and light will make things like working on vehicles and machinery so much more pleasant.
As an electrician, there’s a few things I noticed, but first let’s talk about that genie lift and it’s annoying beeper. You can disable it temporarily by holding down the horn button as you pull out the red e-stop until a U017 code appears on screen and it will stay off until you press the stop button again. That’s probably the preferred method since it still allows emergency beeps to work such as the pothole sensor or the overload sensor. BUT on most models, you can also disable the beeper semi-permanently by just unplugging it, normally located near the lower control board. Also, fun fact on the Genies is that the model number tells you the size, so this gs 3232 will reach 32’ tall and is 32” wide; whereas the gs 1930 will reach 19’ tall and is 30” wide. Now, onto the electrical: First emt conduit should be supported every 10’, so you did good on that at every 8 or 6’. BUT it also needs supported within 3’ of every box or conduit body (per NEC 358.30). In addition, surface mount boxes need to be rigidly and securely fastened in place (per 214.23 (A)), OR it can be supported off a raceway if you use hubs for the connectors AND have at least two conduits entering it AND support those conduits within 18” of the box (per 214.23 (F)). Next, flex conduit (fmc) should be supported within 12” of the box (per 348.30). Next, receptacles in a garage should be GFCI protected (per 210.8 (B) 8). Just put one at the beginning of the circuit and feed the rest through it, or get a gfci breaker. Last, emt should not be used as your support for the lights (per 358.12). That’s the code stuff, but I also noticed a couple other things that I would change or check up on. It looked like not all your strut straps were squeezed together near the base, if you take some channel locks and squeeze them, then tighten the screw, that’ll be more secure. On your strut, it looks like you only used flange nuts; you should add a fender washer on each side of the strut as well and turn the flange towards the strut as it looks like the insulation side ones were turned away. Also on the strut, it doesn’t look like you filed the cut edges; particularly on those wall ones, it’s a good idea to get rid of those sharp bits where you might graze your arm against. On the receptacles, I would pigtail them into a wire nut with the other conductors so that you’re not relying on the receptacle tabs to carry the full amperage of everything downstream (it also helps isolate any issue to just that device). Still, looks pretty good overall, and much better than many installs I’ve seen, including some so-called electricians. Keep it up.
Great Job Eric. it's so exciting to see the outlets working after all the thinking and planning and all the work you two put into this. and they all work... I would leave those switches side ways. I can't explain why, but seeing your shop come together really makes me happy. It's like you've clawed back a space from the winter so that instead of "hunkering-down" and just trying to survive, you can work on whatever you want. So it is spruce slabs, but I believe they finished it with a natural finish from Cabot timber oils. It does a great job. It's one of those products you need to apply a few years in a row as the sun exposes more pores on the wood, but after 3-4 it'll hold as long as the building is up. Beautiful product
Like many other subscribers, it is so good to escape to Alaska and hang out with you both! The building has come so far! Can’t believe that snow! Beautiful drone footage. Never tire of watching you fulfill your dreams!

I appreciate you “can do” determination! You don’t really learn how to do something until you do it.
Thanks for showing up this evening.
BRAVO!!! Yet another stunning accomplishment for you two!!!
@ 37:48 what ever finish or not finish on the wood on the front of the Q hut sure looks good, the color is perfect
So it is spruce slabs, but I believe they finished it with a natural finish from Cabot timber oils. It does a great job. It's one of those products you need to apply a few years in a row as the sun exposes more pores on the wood, but after 3-4 it'll hold as long as the building is up. Beautiful product
Wow! The amount of successful forward planning in this project is next level. Amazing job.
Longing of the beauty of Alaska! Thank You for taking us along!
Ya'll have done such an incredible job with everything. The garden, the seed room, shop and the lighting are all beautiful!
