Exactly, and that's with street tires. Pretty damn capable. My old 98 XJ Cherokee wouldn't do that stock. Neither would my 02 Liberty. My 12 Liberty might have, but I doubt it. My 78 CJ7 Quadratrac definitely would, but that was a completely different beast.
This is one of those things where driver skill really comes into play. Probably most people would never be able to do this in the same trailhawk. Great job man!
Don't listen to the naysayers, it does take skill to get up an incline such as this especially considering the vehicle that's being driven if far from what most would deem appropriate for this type of terrain. Pretty sure LSD/VLSD Ect…. systems in newer cars are far harder to manipulate up the side of a hill versus something with straight lockers and huge tires which sums up most large crawler builds. Also the damage done to the bottom and where it was done in my opinion was minimal, you can purchase skid plates for the pans and drivetrain easy peasy, if your tub takes a wack then so be it nothing mechanical damaged, add rock sliders also cheap. I think what you've demonstrated here is awesome and reminds me of myself, take something that you are confident enough to drive up the problem and do just that. This vehicle is limited by what it boasts on paper, "find that problem its incapable of doing" however you'll never cap the limits unless there's a competent skilled driver. Took my stock which its nolonger 03 Subaru forester up some thing that had Toyota fj and jeep drivers scratching their heads my last achievement the Wall going over Poughkeepsie gulch. Im now 3.5in Lift custom jeep bumpers off a 2009 jk, some sweet general grabbers for shoes, next is adding diff lock ect….. blah blah. Good job buddy.

Just took my stock Cherokee Trailhawk I’ve had for three days on an off-road trail with numerous rock fields. It is an amazing vehicle and more than capable.
I took my 2019 jeep Cherokee TrailHawk elite out off roading with a 2012 dodge 4x4 pickup truck with a lift and 37s he broke a knuckle on the dodge my little trailhawk has just a few small scratches on the skid plates from the few places it didn’t have quite enough clearance they are extremely capable, my next upgrade will be a suspension lift and some off road tires great video thanks for sharing it!
Very few stock family SUV's can go from the showroom, to doing this. I know there's a lot of questions regarding the reliability of the Cherokee, such as transmission etc but damn. This was impressive.
I have a 2014 "TRAIL HAWK" V-6, and it does very well in the mountains, and surprizes many people! I love it, and it now has 45,000 PLUS miles........NO PROBLEMS!
I got a the V6 TH as well anything i should know about it. I took it in some some mud i got a lil stuck tried working out of it had the wheels turned all the way to the left started hears some clicking as i gave it gas is that normal has me worried. Beginner off-roader asking
Everyone I've ever known to have this model Cherokee, has had nothing but problems. A friend who bought a new one, had 4 trannys replaced in 18 months. Jeep bought it back. Sis in laws tranny went out at 40k miles. Several other people have similar issues plus electronic, brake, emission and cooling problems.

Wayne Owen - I have a 1998 Cherokee XJ that just turned over 400,000 km (that's almost 250,000 miles) I hope the newer ones run like the old ones. This thing will last you forever and take you just about anywhere (with the right tires)

Got the renegade trailhawk. Added a 2 inch lift and einach springs for a total of 3 inches. Threw some copper at3 4s on it. Quick disconnect sway links. Little offroad badass.

I have a 2019 Wrangler Sahara JLU. My wife a Cherokee 2019 Limited. I love them both too much to put either of them through it. I once did on my older Jeeps. I bought my 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk last week, and finally got to take it out with the wife and kids, to the Colorado Mountains today... “It’s a Jeep”, trust that. I drove custom rails through the most intense and crazy stuff motor vehicles can drive through for years, and yet I am damn proud of my Trailhawk tonight. She climbed to places today that I’d wager few if any have ever made it to and parked; we parked and had lunch. She got coated in dirt and dust, and after a good bath, can confirm she came home without a scratch. We have named her ‘Discovery’.
Ironically, a stock Cherokee XJ probably wouldn't make it up that hill with its lack of traction control, despite the necessary clearance. New cars are excellent at making the most of what they have.
Justin - LOL. Have you ever even driven an XJ? I have some videos on my channel (search my channel for, "Cherokee", or, "XJ", or, "Jeep", or, "Offroad". XJ would blow this newer cherokee out of the water! I went through some pretty gnarly stuff in my XJ! Things I KNOW this new cherokee wouldn't get through (mainly the deep mud and water). Also, I suggest you look up what 'traction control' does. You may mean something else. Traction control is something you want turned OFF when you go offroad. You probably mean some other systems, but, didn't know what you were talking about.
I have a 2019 kl trailhawk and love it. With jeeps discounts I was able to get mine with an 8 year warranty for less than the price of a mid level Ford escape. It looks better, tows trailers beautifully and has never given me a worry going down normal trails.

@@tylergibson6299 Agreed, I landed up buying a used 2016 TrailHawk with only 21,000 miles and it is everything it has been advertised as. Still has a bit of the new car smell. Feeling very confident offload and this winter will be easy to navigate on the snow packed roads.
He just needed a little more speed to bounce that backend up. Trail Hawks with a l.5-2 inch lift good tires and a little better suspension and they can do some stuff.
Nice job, took my wife’s off-road a month ago, wasn’t that bad but did have some nasty rocks and a massive climb, I was very surprised what it could do.

Anybody can take a Rubicon or a TRD up a hard obstacle. Thats old hat. It takes skill to do this stuff in a crossover.

Cherokee Trail Hawks are good off-road. Especially once you lift them.

33AndAThirdRPM yea neither of those vehicles come close to being an actual truly off-road capable vehicle the trailhawk is in a league of its own within its class
@@tylergibson6299 Agreed, I landed up buying a used 2016 TrailHawk with only 21,000 miles and it is everything it has been advertised as. Still has a bit of the new car smell. Feeling very confident offload and this winter will be easy to navigate on the snow packed roads.

He just needed a little more speed to bounce that backend up. Trail Hawks with a l.5-2 inch lift good tires and a little better suspension and they can do some stuff.
Gonna be some good dents in the undercarriage and skid plates. Oh well..can’t see them...it’s 4 wheeling at its best. Good job.

Nice job, took my wife’s off-road a month ago, wasn’t that bad but did have some nasty rocks and a massive climb, I was very surprised what it could do.

Weekend Warrior rock mode an nah I didn't hit anything. Think I cleared it by about a millimeter. It was close but didn't bang
