Just an update on this - I used this rifle + scope setup in a 22lr practical competition over the weekend - my first time ever shooting in such an event... anyway I placed 2nd. I was the only one to hit all 6 targets in the 'Test Your Limits' decreasing gong round (targets at 100yd, down a 12 deg slope). The last gong was under 1inch across. Having this scope really was an advantage especially with stages that had targets spread across multiple distances - it meant I didn't have to calculate clicks etc. One downside I did think about though is the lack of wind holdovers. Fortunatley there was very little breeze, but if it was blowing I would have had some issues here. i was shooting Hornady Varmint Express 22lr 1070 lead round nose ammo. I'm nearly out of this stuff, but I'm told that it's the same ammo as CCI std. But I seem to group better with the Hornady.
What an absolutely stunning place for shooting. Nice distance. Great backdrop. And not another living human soul within km, I'd wager. Shooters paradise. Excellent video, too, mate.
Thanks, yeah it's a neat spot. The funny thing is there are a few properties around - but we're all seperated by hills. So it creates this nice feeling of being 'in the middle of nowhere' but if you need something you can always pop over to one of the neigbbours for a helping hand! I hope to do more shooting videos in the future as well :)
I have the 4-12 HV model on a CZ American for several years now and it works great I hunt squirrels and rabbits with it out to 150 yards. Also one on my 17hmr and have also hit out to 150 yards. I haven’t tried further because the opportunity hasn’t arose. Then I have the endurance model with 223 caliber markings on a 556 for a couple of years now. I have taken coyotes out from 30 to 300 yards on many occasions with it. That has also worked great for me. So I have no complaints and I am not planning on changing any of them out.
Ahh nice. Great to hear their other scopes work well! I was looking at the 223 scopes, I may have to grab one for those longer distance shots on slightly larger critters
75 yards is ok for longer distances. If it's set to say 20 yards then it's a problem. I recently did a competition with this rifle and we weren't allowed to change parallax - so i would leave it around 50 yards (targets were as close as 15 and as far as 150). It would be a blur for the close targets but you could make do.
I ordered this scope last night. The subsonic version in 4-16. I was looking for a scope for my kid’s 22 and didn’t like most of the reticles. My favorite scope maker only had simple crosshairs. Seems a waste to not have any holdovers even if fixed mils/moas on capped turrets.
Yeah I did, I actually went out to pick off a Rabbit a few nights ago. I spotted it out the window, I don't recall the time but the sun had gone down, so light was poor. I grabbed my Guide thermal, a spotlight and my 22 and crept out side, I hid under our trampoline and found a prone spot by the fence. I identified the rabbit with my thermal, then had a look through my scope... I couldn't see ANYTHING. Meanwhile I could still make out rushes, the fence wire, and the blackberry bush with my naked eye. So it was getting dark but there was still enough light. I know if I had my Leupold VX5 at that point in time I would have been able to make out the rabbit with ease (it's a great scope for twilight shooting). Anyway, I was a bit surprised, and also disappointed. I flicked on the illuminated reticule, went back to my thermal, took some reference points from the hill and figured out roughly where the rabbit was. Then using my naked eye I aimed the rifle in that rough direction, got everything ready, settled in behind the scope for a shot, flicked on the spotlight and half a second later identified the rabbit in the scope and crack, job done. A bit of a story there, but it's a long way to say it's not very good for low light shooting!
I have no idea was this a good buy for my Smith&Wesson M&P 15-22 22LR 😅This was on sale so price was cheap. I have no experience on Scopes other that pistol Holos so no point buy something too expensive for first scope on my .22 LR.

Oh and I'm looking at using this setup in an upcoming 22lr practical competition (hunter class)

Good review Alex, lovely set up, greetings from Ireland.
Hey, thanks!
Hello, where did you get the black grip insert on that magpul stock? Thanks.
Hi thanks for video. If parallax is fixed at 75yard, is it quite blurry distance pass that?

I have mine on my 223. And i also use a range finder
hi alex i have a kawke vantage the same and i'm using winchester hollow point copper plated
Oh nice. I know a lot of people use this ammo. This is supersonic ammo though right? It would be no good with my sub-sonic reticl.
Good review - I suggest using a bipod that isn't on the table next time to hopefully reduce the spotting camera shake.
Good tip
Hey looks great for the money. Where can you buy them in nz?
Hey i got mine from here - airgunsnz.co.nz/scopes/

Hey neat. Who is your fav scope maker if you don't mind me asking?
@@LightTherapyInsiders Vortex.
Did you try in the night time? If so, how far you were able to see the varmints?

Спасибо за обзор. Прицел хорош, однозначно стоит купить. Но, для эффективного использования - дальномер обязателен.
Can i use this on a rifle chambered in 6.5x55? 🤔
It's designed for rimfire
I just got one
