Thanks Andy, I've had the porta-aim for a few months but had been unscrewing collar to adjust height, so glad i saw this as lifting collar is much quicker!
Really interesting review and that Vanguard gun tripod looks a brilliant bit of kit. The red plastic gun cleaning stand definitely isn’t ( in my opinion ). I’ve had one for years and the 2 black gun rest sections are a frustrating nightmare to use because as you lift the rifle up they stick to the for-end and stock only to fall away a moment later. It happens with rifles and shotguns and whether it’s touching wood or metal. Even the shop that sold it to me admitted later that it can be an irritating bit of kit to use. Otherwise a great review and the Ranger finder is for me an essential piece of equipment out hunting. As air gunners judging ranges is critical and my simple Hawke 600 takes all the guess work out of it.
Speaking of cleaning kit, have you ever thought of making an airgun maintenance video? Cleaning, general maintenance, etc? Would be very helpful for noobies like me
Thanks Andy! I didn't realize that anemometers were that inexpensive. I also like your 'shell' holder. I have a couple of them myself (for my revolvers). I chose different colours so that I can quickly know which goes with which gun.
Problem with these handheld tools is that they measure wind in one place, and more often than not, when its windy the wind gusts just blow from different angles and strengths.
A very nice once again Andy! Thank you very much! Good ideas in there. I did though get airgun paper targets and a 10pc box of Co2 - and those will never end up as just storage space fill. 😁 Would like that FX chrono .. but it still feels a bit expensive.
just ordered the vanguard gun rest yesterday :D ( I found my gun bags a little too low for comfort at the range or in the garden ) , I've had the pellet catcher for 7 months now and yep they are a great bit of kit ( no more ricochet's into the greenhouse :P )
So any camera can go on there, but also the top mount can go on taller camera tripods. :) For springers just put them ontop of the velcro, it slides perfectly. It's excellent kit, got mine for 1,5 years now. :)
Andy, The JSB Hades is now available in .25 cal. I have had my tin for about 2 weeks now. They are a 26.54gr pellet designed from the JSB 33.95gr MKII Heavy
Great video as normal. Thanks to your review, I just purchased the Vanguard Porta aim. I have been looking for something like this for a while now and managed to get one online for £37. Bargain..
Enjoy the video and don’t forget to visit www.vector-air.co.uk and www.aar-OnAir.com for all the AAR merchandise. Follow us on facebook.com/andyairgunreviews
A lot of 'goodies ' there, in fact I'm here now looking at some of them on-line with thoughts of buying one or two,..... that shooting stand tripod, for one, and the other, the cleaning bench to hold my rifles. Thanks Andy.
@@DanoSlingz Thanks Daniel,.but unfortunately, these are not available anywhere now in Canada,..seems like they've been taken off the market! I've tried to find one at just about every dealer.
Tried those JSB Hades in .177 form and they are truly useless for accuracy. Even when used on a Weihrauch HW97. Luckily they were a sample pack so didn't waste too much money. Now use H&N Barracuda Hunter Supreme. A good hunting pellet with the same accuracy as my Bisley Magnums and JSB Exact.
Hello :) Thank you for the video. I love your videos. I have a Hatsan Mod25 mini air gun. I'm not sure which oils should I use in barrel and outside of the gun for rust ressistance. I think maybe I should use seperate oils. Is is ok to use silicon oil for inside barrel ? But for outside? I don't know :( Do you have a tip for oiling these air guns? Thanks again.
Hi. I've only recently started target shooting and so I'm a bit new to all the accessories that are available. Would the maintenance centre/tray be able to cradle a smaller form rifle, in particular a Walther Rotex RM8 Carbine? I like the idea of the rifle being held securely while being worked on. PS. I've been watching some of your earlier posts and find them very informative. Thank you for all the time you put into them.
Just recieved a porta aim and i expected the centre coloumn to be at right angles to the ground or base or whatever it sits on but mine has a slope which means the one leg has to point in the diection of aim or the top rest is canted. does anyone know if this is normal or have got a faulty one
I'm Vietnamese and I don't speak English but I still watch it. because I'm passionate about airguns. Could you please add the Vietnamese translation? Thank you very much
I have a Nomad 11 PCP Compressor but it will not fill my PCP to 250 bars it has no leaks it will not reach 3500 which is 250 will only fill to 170.Have a MaxAir Evanix 25 Cal will not fill can u help me.
Hi I came across your videos in my suggested list i have thought about having a go with air rifles but i am not to sure we're to start any advise please if it helps I am in mid Wales
I need a gun rest, I don't even use a bag, best practice is freehand while sat or if you're in a wood standing, that way when you do rest the weapon you're accurate as a bullseye on a blue bottle at 75ft, I find it more accurate if I squeeze the trigger while sweeping from either left to right or vice versa 😉 or coming up, shot a hubcap once in the late 70s and the 22 pellet came fizzing back at me in a spiral hitting me on the right 💪 bicep as I shoot lefty with a long gun., it went in slo mo motion and really hurt/stung me the barsteward , I'd have blinded myself if it hit my eye 👀, that's why glasses 👓 are important
Thanks Andy, I've had the porta-aim for a few months but had been unscrewing collar to adjust height, so glad i saw this as lifting collar is much quicker!
just got the porta aim and it is perfect.....i never thought something so simple could make my shots so accurate....easily best buy of the year

Thanks Andy! You're the best, and my fave!
Being new to the game A gun case for my rifle & chronograph maybe one of those fancy stands to rest my gun on when I'm working on it

One of the best air gun channels
Great stuff
Thanks 😊👍

Like the mini tripod as can double it up for my photography so two purposes there & the Anemometers are pretty cheaper than I thought :)

Hey Andy, what kind of case did you get ? I can’t find a good one worth buying but this one looks good, what’s it called ?

Looking forward to 2020. Bought an ebay special compressor after watching your review, well pleased with it so far.
What about the pardnv007 or nv008 they are amazing.
Same case but with FX markings cost about half of the "Daystate" one. 😊
Yes. I paid £50 for the same case with no markings.
