You're 100% right about the flex, lol I have had 4 poles together and stood on a 14 ft orchard ladder at a tree job, the climber never showed up. 🤣 talk about a workout. . Longest 12 minutes of my life! Fiskars does make a good home owner setup. I just wish the fiberglass holes in the extension part were reinforced... no problems as of yet, but maybe it doesn't need them. I think I have the 16 ft model. It was 64 or 84 dollars at homedepot, very good cutting teeth and pruning blade
It definitely sounds like you had a workout!!! Sounds like you have the 16', the easy way to tell is the 16' is the only one with the saw blade that has a hook tip so you don't pull the blade out of the kerf when sawing. Hey Tony another very informative video! After watching this 2 months ago I was at my local Costco Warehouse and they had the Fiskars 16' pole pruner for sale. I bought one & realized how long it actually is when it barely fit into my car! And that was without the blade attached!! LOL I am curious, my saw is made in China is yours made in Germany or Sweden?? My saw also hooks on different than yours did, it still has a wingnut but no tab holding it in place until the wingnut gets tightened. I am also a little disappointed with the rope just hanging down from the head , I would've thought they would have a loop on each section to thread the rope thru! What are your thoughts?? I also need to make some kind of a scabbard for the blade before I accidentally cut holes in everything that the blade comes in contact with!! LOL
Steve, to my knowledge all the Fiskars Pole saws are made in China. The Ax’s are the main products made in Finland. My pole saw is about 4 or 5 years old so Fiskars may have made some changes to the blade design. The rope is a tough issue, I’m not aware of any other company that has a better design other than just hanging from the head of the saw. After you’ve had a chance to use it drop me a comment on your thoughts. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
Tony i am new to your site.but i need to know if the 12 foot or 14 mostly the 12 foot one .have the curve on the tip woodzig blade.will it fit on the 12foot version.on Amazon it is not showing it with it.maybe you would know?. also wondering if you know about what year they changed over to the oval type pole instead of the rounded one.thanks for any help in this.thank you
Karl when I retired in 2019 only the 16’ saw came with the hook nose Woodzig blade. It would not fit the 12’ or 14’ but possibly you could modify it with some grinding and filing. I’m going to guess the redesign from round handle to oval was about 2016. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT

i had a fiscars pruning tool with maybe three foot handles and the head broke and the lifetime warranty didn't cover anything.... no customer service so no no to fiscars anymore.
I’m really sorry to hear that. Typically they are very fair and liberal about the lifetime guarantee. Did they ask you to take a picture and email it? I assume you were referring to pruning loppers. I appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT

Hi Tony. Are the saw blades interchangeable between the various Fiskars pole saws? That would be so nice! And, if not, is there a tooth configuration and size difference between the various models! I recently bought the X27, X25 and X15 axes. Very good axes. Tired of replacing wooden handles on my conventional axes, that is if I can find them and cost prohibitive to import here in Canada.from the States. Thanks for your videos. Subscribed. Say hello to Chris, your new best buddy! Norm 🍁🍻
Norm, Chris is still the “best former best friend I’ve ever had” 😂 The 16’ pole saw uses a 15” Woodzig saw blade specifically made for that saw and was not interchangeable with any other pole saw (that was 4 years ago). The product managers felt they wanted to offer the best blade on the most premium saw. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing . 👍TCT
Been looking at this mysterious jumble of a tool [that looks so complicated] for over 3 weeks, but could help with a "forever young" Japanese Maple that grows faster each year. Had no idea how you operated such a tool that seemed "helpful" for my situation. This is exactly the kind of video that helps those of us who have a desire to do something, but we're in need of educating. Your video removed the mystery of "how on earth you use such a contraption". I've been using a ladder and a branch looper that's maybe ..3' long. The right tool for the right job is always the best choice. Been looking at these Fiskars at Costco but could not decipher how they worked. Now I know..feed a person a fish 1 day & they eat one day..teach a person to fish...all the questions about this device have been answered. Thank you for removing the mystery on how these Fiskar Trimmers work.

That’s a great improvement on the Home D version!
Jeff it’s been some time since I’ve been to THD. So I’m not familiar with what they have. Fiskars normally is stocked in one of the three majors (Walmart, THD or Lowe’s)

@@TonysCoolTools Hi Tony ! Hoping your family s doing well in your neck of the woods ! Thanks !
The calm before the storm. Fiskars pole saw is nice. I probably prefer the Stihl gasoline powered version 🤣
You’re a man after my own heart, and wise beyond your years.
More power is the trick for sure. I have the Echo power pole saw and it too does a great job.
If you buy any gas powered pole saw make sure you invite family and friends to come over and try it. From experience I’ll tell you they will wipe you out!!!!!! You’ll be sore for days…

A saw and a ladder, an accident waiting to happen! Well sir, I cracked 3 ribs when it happened to me in 2020. Wish you had made this video sooner 😁.
I’m glad your ok, it could have been worst. Though many people use tools while on a ladder, chainsaw is not one of those. I’m glad the pole saw allows me to stay on the ground and cut!

i had a fiscars pruning tool with maybe three foot handles and the head broke and the lifetime warranty didn't cover anything.... no customer service so no no to fiscars anymore.
I’m really sorry to hear that. Typically they are very fair and liberal about the lifetime guarantee.
Did they ask you to take a picture and email it?
I assume you were referring to pruning loppers.

I have always hated the flex of the ploe saw I own.
Yup I hated my old pole saw as well.
The new oval handle version definitely flex’s less.

Expense vs. Investment.
Buy a higher end model.

Great product review, Tony. I really like the oval handle on that pole saw...it definitely is easier on the hands. I wish my LogRite pickaroon came with an oval handle. I still love my Echo pole saw. Keep up the great work! 🇺🇸🪓🪵🌲🪵🪓🪵🌲🪵🪓🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫
The oval handle definitely hakes a difference.
I agree I think the oval handle would make the LogRite more comfortable..
I too love my Echo pole saw as well, however it wears me out!

Norm 🍁🍻
Norm, Chris is still the “best former best friend I’ve ever had” 😂
The 16’ pole saw uses a 15” Woodzig saw blade specifically made for that saw and was not interchangeable with any other pole saw (that was 4 years ago).
The product managers felt they wanted to offer the best blade on the most premium saw.
