You're among the "sell a fridge to an Eskimo" clan, pun intended. I love Fiskars tools and the Pruning Stik ( great marketing nomenclature BTW ). It reaches easy , simple to use for us 3-4 score year set, does what it says. Good presentation! Downeast Maine has also had a near snowless winter butt without the warm. This Spring has been more Winter. We're long into our shoulder season firewood. Lifetime guarantee ain't shabby. JMNSHO

I really like that design. The brand I have is like most with the pull rope that gets tangled and the weak spring that doesn't return the cutting head to open. I have never had a bad experience with Fiskars products and I just might consider this one. James most of the major tool companies (Dewalt, Milwaukee) make cordless pruning tools. You didn't mention how thick the cider trees you want to cut. The Fiskar pruning stik will cut up to 1-1/4" but it's a nampula tool. Look up the following 2 companies for battery powered pruners .
Komok Pro Cordless pruning tools and
      Klezhi Pro cordless pruners.
      They are not cheap.

@@TonysCoolTools Thanks for taking the time to research these products and share them with all of us. The cedars that I’m referencing could be up to 2”-2-1/2”. I’m looking for something that I can stand upright and push a button and snip the cedar. When I was a younger man you could give some boys some loopers and they would cut these for pennies on the dollar, but now that’s impossible.

James at 2 to 2-1/2" I'm not heard or seen of a pruning tool that would cut something that large. That borders on a mini chainsaw. Stihl has some new battery powered "combo kits" that include a small chainsaw with extended handle so you don't have to bend as much. But you're probably better off looking at a less expensive version by Poulan, Ryobi. 👍TCT

    Does the chain need oil?

Though there is no mention of it in the instructions it definitely wouldn’t hurt to spray a lubricant at the end of the season.👍TCT

You did NOT show all of the things that the pruning stick can do!
You missed one of the most important "hidden" features of the tool. It can grasp sharp, prickly prunings and allow you to move them without touching them. I use this when pruning wild roses, black locust trees, and raspberry canes. I cut the prunings, then reach down with the pruner, as if I was going to cut the pruning, and pull slightly on the handle, closing the blade around the pruning. Then lifting it into my bin or truck trailer. No thorns in your hands that way. Just be careful that you don't try to lift super big pieces with it, and you will be fine. Because you can easily cut pieces down to manageable sizes.
Best of luck to you and the turtles!

James you are so right I did not show the important feature of being able to pick up those prickly rose stems or locust and berry canes. The pruning stik does a great job. Thanks for pointing that out. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍 TCT

I agree, best best is any farm and ranch store or on Amazon. You won’t be disappointed if you get it.
