Just bought one from Northern Tool here in GA; $205 out the door. I've owned the sectional fiberglass PP900 for some time. Looking forward to the much lighter weight of the 800. Fyi, both components are made in Japan by ARS; the pole is their SC-EXP55, and the blade is their UV-40-1. The Stihl-branded versions are a screaming deal compared to the cost of the ARS-versions. Appreciate your video.
Great info! I have loved working with this saw and the fact you can get replacement blades is nice, but I’ve had mine for a couple years now and the teeth are still sharp on it. I believe mine was about the and price you paid. I thought it was a great deal to compared to the higher end saws that look the same.
Great review, and from a fellow Carolinian, too! I was unaware of this saw and really like the features you outlined. I wonder how the blade would do against large diameter bamboo?
Hey Chief 👋, do you have a measurement for it collapsed? Without blade, I’m looking to purchase but want to know if it will fit in my trailer tool cage, definitely gonna keep it locked Inside of something

I think it would do great on bamboo!

When all the extensions are collapsed with the blade attached it is 9’ exactly. If you remove the blade and handle it is 7’ 1”. Hope this helps!
