It's all relative. I didn't think cockatiels were calm and gentle until I got a green cheek. I adore my green cheek, but my cockatiel is an ANGEL in comparison.
@Justin Thompson there are plenty of videos about it on TH-cam. But first of all be patient and don't force your budgie into anything. Show your bird that your not something to be scared of.

I really dislike how some humans feel entitled to take parrots and other non domesticated animals and put them in little boxes where they suffer. So thank you so much for teaching the proper way of caring for parrots where the relationship is symbiotic and you give your parrots better lifes in your home than they would have out in nature. You give them endless fun and love, which is amazing. I think that is the only ethical way of keeping pets. You have taught me a lot and I am planning on getting a conure in the future! You are so much more mature than literal middle aged adults who impulse buy birds because they are pretty.
I started really wanting a cockatiel when I was nine, so now I’m 13 and I have like 5 full notebooks of does and don’ts. I really want my future lil Lemon to be really happy!

@Stephanie Perez I have a Cockateil called Yuki to and I have never been able to tame her she will bite my hand if I try to give her food she is super aggressive, I got her from a pet store because I couldn't find a rescue nor a breeder so I had to stick with a pet store I love her for who she is but I want to try to change her super aggressive behaviour she bit my 7 year old cousin super hard one time and that made him be scared to get close to his own budgies I still love you Yuki 💖💖
Love your channel. I recently rescued 11 parakeets. 8 I put in a big flight cage, and 3 are in a smaller table top cage since they aren't doing so well. Today I am rescuing a cockatiel who has had a super rough life. You are a beautiful soul. I used my love for animals when I was a child, to become a veterinarian technician. I love your love for animals. Too many times I have seen many be cruel to birds forgetting that they are living and loving creatures just like dogs and cats.

My birds also like going into their chop bowl. Before I didn’t put lettuce in my birds bath, but ever since I have, they have enjoyed their baths even more. I also have budgies.🦜

I’m trying to convert our cockatiel to pellets and chop. We adopted him and he is a senior bird. He has been on a all seed diet. Also my parrotlet Stitch loves it when I watch your channel. He likes hearing the birds.
Yauqoot Masaud I’ve been slowly transitioning. He is an older cockatiel we’ve adopted. My young parrotlet on the other hand is much less picky. When he rejects something a lot of the time if I try again he likes it. I am very far from being an expert on feeding though.

Would you recommend a budgy or a cockatiel for me. I go to school 9am-3:15pm. I have a ceiling fan but I hardly turn it on. I can get a proper flight cage and done my part in research. um so i know you asked her but i think it would depend on the amount of patience you have. for a budgie they are very skittish and can be a bit harder to be tamed than a cockatiel. I personally like cockatiels more. I've had both but the one I preferred was my cockatiel which is what I currently have right now.

I got my 2 budgies and the cage from this guy who loves birds and he had tons of cages and birds. But he got us a girl and boy, so the next week we had to trade the girl in. They are currently will only eat some millet from us, and sometimes eat from our hands. Any suggestions?
i think you should stop on the millet and only use it as a treat and try the conversion pellets with a bit of chop then try the harrisons super fine pellets with chop. (sorry if it sounds complicated)
@RegaSoup I think you should take your time taming the budgies. Use the millet as a reward for stepping on to your hand, but take slow steps . You can hold the millet behind a perch so in order for the bird to get the treat, it will have to step on the perch. Once it’s gets used to the perch, then use your hand with the same process. It might take a few tries, but eventually it will step up.
This just showed up in my suggestions. I love all of your birds! Ducky reminds me of my cockatiel Casper. Casper was a pearl lutino cockatiel and sadly passed away from complications of her lutino cockatiel syndrome last month at 8 years old.

The only cage available on amazon for me had 1 inch bar spacing so we had to attach mesh on the outside and it works a ok now

Would you recommend a budgy or a cockatiel for me. I go to school 9am-3:15pm. I have a ceiling fan but I hardly turn it on. I can get a proper flight cage and done my part in research. And I’ll have her/him in my room. Do I need a mister in my room or not recommended. Please answer these question and give me any more info I need :) thank you very much.
um so i know you asked her but i think it would depend on the amount of patience you have. for a budgie they are very skittish and can be a bit harder to be tamed than a cockatiel. I personally like cockatiels more. I've had both but the one I preferred was my cockatiel which is what I currently have right now.

I got my 2 budgies and the cage from this guy who loves birds and he had tons of cages and birds. But he got us a girl and boy, so the next week we had to trade the girl in. They are currently will only eat some millet from us, and sometimes eat from our hands. Any suggestions?
i think you should stop on the millet and only use it as a treat and try the conversion pellets with a bit of chop then try the harrisons super fine pellets with chop. (sorry if it sounds complicated)
@RegaSoup I think you should take your time taming the budgies. Use the millet as a reward for stepping on to your hand, but take slow steps . You can hold the millet behind a perch so in order for the bird to get the treat, it will have to step on the perch. Once it’s gets used to the perch, then use your hand with the same process. It might take a few tries, but eventually it will step up.

This just showed up in my suggestions. I love all of your birds! Ducky reminds me of my cockatiel Casper. Casper was a pearl lutino cockatiel and sadly passed away from complications of her lutino cockatiel syndrome last month at 8 years old.
