As I commented last week, I’d leave a comment after watching this, thank you for all the insights this was genuinely very very helpful to know! I think it confirmed some of my concerned with going into healthcare and being a pa but also made me feel better about certain things. Very comprehensive and one thing that stuck out is the fact that medical professionals are seen as authority figures, as a patient I don’t like that bc I feel intimidated and scared of being dismissed and if I become a pa in the future I want to make patients feel comfortable and like I’m just another person but I guess that’s not what many patients actually expect??? Oh well😭

I decided not to apply to med school because my teacher said I was a bad candidate due to my poor social abilities. I've always regretted not applying and this video makes me realise that my autism may not have been as much of a handicap as I thought.

@kasiapolakowska8481 well it still is very difficult but if you really want to it is never too late to try med school! I had teachers say i should not apply to med school but i didn't listen to them. 😂

hello, great video! Im so glad you gave that point of view in a very kind way. I just got accepted in a med college (not the one I really wanted, but for now I'll be studying there) and last year my psyquiatrist told me to verify with a therapist if I have autism 1, which I also think I may have, unfortunately the test is expensive sooo I'll wait for me to get a salary on my own son2=91(/&\♤\ my comment got very long, in general thank you for sharing this, I feel much more confident to try it 😊☝️

    3:20 Just to clarify that.
Although he sent Kids to Spiegelgrund and as such was part of the euthanasia machinery, Hans Asperger was no Nazi.
He never joined the NSDAP, he just tried to carve out a career.
As it's a really complicated topic for a comment, i can really recommend the Book 'Aspergers Children' written by Edith Sheffer.

    • @radishraven9
      @radishraven9  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@ElektrischInkorrekt yeah i guess but it doesn't matter if he was technically a nazi or not. He worked with nazis and his descriptions of autism are outdated and not useful. The autistic community in general is moving away from using the terminology of Aspergers.

    • @ElektrischInkorrekt

      @@radishraven9 It's complicated.
As I am from this area, I did some research to that whole topic.
And I don't know, what I would have done in his situation.
Would you try to make the best out of your situations (e.g. the 'easy way') or would you try to say something against the system, even if that means that you could or will loose your job and you will probably get punishment for this within a labor camp or a concentration camp (yes also political enemys had to go there.).
And you don't know if you will ever get out of these camps within your lifetime.
That's why many Scientists and other people fleed to e.g. the USA.
It was a really complicated time, where you've been punished if you didn't fit into the system.

    Hi Ingrid,
    Thanks for the insight.
I don't like phone calls either, unless it's a call from a close family member or a close friend.
    That's was some swedish there.
    You are welcome.
I'm one of those loyal fans 😆 but there's much more to it !
Well when I got my high school diploma some people suggested to me to choose medicine but I didn't listen to them 😅 not because I don't like medicine ( I like almost all sciences: history, geography, and so on )but simply it's a works that requires carrying a big responsablity which is the well-being of patients. Nonetheless I'm glad that one if my friends is a doctor who helps people feeling better 😊

@@brocklytodd5317 ik and people judge me because of psychopathy, but bpd + avpd = quiet borderline is my primary disorder with some antisocial behaviors and tendencies... When people hear psychopath they immediately think of serial killers, there is a huge difference between primary and secondary psychopaths, for example secondary psychopaths are much more antisocial in a way that they would fight, but rarely it happens that they would kill someone, they have disregulated emotions, while primary dont have emotions at all, they are cold, callous and no remorse whatsoever... I'm talking about pure secondary psychopath, my dominant disorder is borderline and I'm not a bad person, but I get easily triggered, especially by narcissists.... Narcissists are far worse than secondary psychopaths, even primary in my opinion...

@PKV-wl3ec hi i think i might have misophonia, but i haven't researched it in detail. A lot of medicine is dealing with people, which unfortunately means dealing with coughs, cries and people noises in general. I also dislike the sound of people chewing.

@@radishraven9 I can definitely relate. But it seems like a somewhat emerging classification and I’m not sure if it’s something that can be ‘fixed’ unfortunately. I just try to avoid any triggers but that’s not always possible.
