It's really good fugde my grandma used to make it but this year I an going g to try to cook it by myself because I used to to do it with her but she is sick now because she has cancer and is going through chemotherapy but I cant belive I found the video to it lol just super happy ;)
just watched your video and made a batch of Fantasy Fudge. My son bought the ingredients, so we did it together. It looks like it turned out great! We put chopped walnuts on half and then I stirred them in with a knife. You made it look easy and it was. I hadn't made it in years. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I've made this multiple times and received many compliments. The last couple times I used half chocolate and half peanut butter chips. Turned out great too.
MY grandmother used to make this recipe anytime she made fudge. My mother makes it for Holiday gatherings now. Anytime I make it brings back great memories from my childhood
Thank you for this video, my gramma and I used to make this fudge together every Christmas but I have since taken over making the fudge myself and ever since jet-puffed started not printing the recipe on the packaging I haven’t been able to make it right. I kept trying to use online recipes that claimed to be the original but it always came out crumbly instead of creamy, but watching you make it makes me realize what I was doing wrong and I think my next batch will be much better.
My mom made this fudge and I do to. But last year I did the butter, sugar and milk just as you have it stated. But I use a glass bowl or metal and put all the rest of the ingredients into it ahead of time then when the liquid is ready I pour it over the stuff in the bowl and stir it all in one step. It works just fine and so much easier.
Ok I just made it. It's awesome. Thank you for your step by step instructions. Last time I tried to make fudge it was a disaster, used cocoa, but I only had 1% milk. Thinking that's where I messed up
Hello! I know this fudge video is from 2014 but I have to say this looks so good!! I'm pregnant and craving fudge. Your video was the first one I went to! Thank you for doing the video. I'm going to make this ASAP!!!
I will be making me some more of this fudge. I will be making the fudge exactly the way you made it in your video and I will continuously stirring it through the whole cooking process. I finally got around to reading that tiny print on the Kraft jars of Marshmallow Creme. Fortunately I have all of the ingredients. Your fudge looks so awesome.
Thank you. This fudge sure has that WOW factor because this fudge has that elusive buttery taste which I have been searching for, for years. I use to buy fudge at a couple of gift shops and a candy store with that buttery taste but I was never able to figure out how it was made. And this fudge is OH SO much better than what I bought in these 3 stores.
Love this fudge I use a mix of dark chocolate and milk chocolate and a 1 or 2 tablespoons of any peanut butter But I might make it exactly like this also👍😊😊
Omg..mouth watering...if I had marshmallow in the house now! ! I would make this...love fudge..thanks for the recipe..will definitely try this tomorrow...can't wait
Happy New Year. I have all of the ingredients to make this fudge and I have been looking for the right recipe and step by step instructions on how to do it and I just found it Thank you for making this video 🥰
Ok here right before Christmas 2022 and going to try this recipe out!! Looks so good!! ****Update! Ok did recipe to the T. So far so good! Now I wait! One question? Should I refrigerate or just let it sit out and cool? I hope I don't mess this up!!! 🤞😬
As I'm watching this, I'm scrolling down to see more videos and came along one that reads, "how to never get another cavity again". lolol 😆 Thanks for the upload. Making Christmas packages with goodies in them for friends and family.... A bit late commenting, but glad your video is still up! I tried making fudge, but believe it got too hot..was very hard and dry....will lower temp and keep an eye on thermometer...
Thanks for the wonderful demonstration fixing this very delicious looking fudge. I'm looking forward to making some. Does your fudge have a notable buttery taste too it?
I would like to follow up since I made this fudge this morning. I'm a fudge maker and have 2 different methods which always turn out great. But, I was never able to find that elusive buttery flavor either until I made this very good fudge this morning. And everything went perfect. But being an experience fudge maker I did stick to one of my old practices and that is not to stir the, in this case, sugar, butter and evaporated milk after it comes to a full boil. I didn't use a candy thermometer either. As soon as the mixture came to a full boil I turned on my timer for 5 minutes and let it boil that much longer over a medium heat, than remove pot from heat. However, as good as this fudge is, it is too sweet despite all of the butter and the semi-sweet chocolate morsels. So the next time I make it I will add 1/8 tsp salt to take some of that sweetness off.
Girl you are a blast! I'm about to make homemade fudge chocolate and peanut butter and I watched your peanut butter one and was like ok save I'm doing that one then searched for chocolate marshmallow fudge and yours was 4 th down didn't realize it was yours and I had a chuckle when I heard your voice and say it was duranda lol new it must be a keeper too had to subscribe
Melissa Cupit miss my mom's fudge this was how she made it after she passed I found the iffy recipe taped in a photobook Lol she always said it was a secret lol
Just made this stuff. Will update when it's cool. Already hardening. My candy thermometer was kinda hard to read, but I think I did well. 🤞🤞 Sending it to sister inlaws.
I’m going to try this again. I followed the directions to a T on the back of the Fluff jar. It said to add the first 5 ingredients to the pot which I did. Brought that up to soft ball stage and then took it off the heat. Added in the vanilla and chocolate chips. It seized up as soon as I put the chips in and started to stir. Became really hard and crumbly. Is this because I added all the chips in at once? Looks like the way you added yours was a tempering method. Thanks in advance. I will be trying this again a few days before Christmas! ❤️
wow this video was so helpful. made this on christmas and it was an epic fail lol. but this video was a lot more helpful. i didnt even use a thermometer and it turned out better than my Christmas fudge haha
Hi Deronda! I tried this recently after watching your video a few times and I was careful about following the exact amounts and instructions. When I poured it into the pan, there was melted butter in the bottom of the pan and then there was a layer of butter on top of the fudge! It looked greasy so I absorbed the butter with a paper towel. Please help, any ideas how this happened? How long did you stir after adding the chocolate, marshmallow and vanilla? Texture was somewhat creamy but not as soft as yours appears in the video. Thanks, I would like to try again if I can figure out how to make it just like yours!
I made it today, and mine had that greasy layer, too. I soaked it up with a paper towel, as well, once it was in the baking dish. Also, when I finished stirring all my ingredients in, and poured it into the dish, it came out in one big lump. Mine did not pour out. It's cooling now, so I'll see how it turns out once it's cooled down. I used the Baker's chocolate like it says on the marshmallow cream jar. Maybe next time I'll use the chocolate chips like she did. But I've always used the Baker's chocolate, and don't remember ever having any issues before. I used real butter, not margarine, and pure vanilla extract, too.
Hi- I’m trying to figure out what I did wrong when I made mine. Most recipes I’ve seen add the chocolate before the marshmallow, is there is reason you did the marshmallow first? Just wondering if it makes a difference.
I followed the directions but when I transferred from the pot to the foiled 9x9 it didn’t come out anything like that. It was much thicker. Do you know what I might have done wrong?
@@Foods101withDeronda My Grandma showed me how to make this. I prefer it without nuts too. I love how creamy it is, it is soo rich. She would also make a peanut butter fudge, and I'm not sure if it was the same way just adding peanut butter instead of chocolate chips, of if it was a different recipe entirely. I didn't like peanut butter back then, but I do now!
to mix the marshmallow fluff and the chocolate My mom and I use a electric hand blender. so much easier when you have bad hands. then mixing it in with a spoon.
Deronda, after the fudge cools in foil lined dish, did you lift the fudge with the foil out of the dish before cutting the fudge or while the fudge was still in foil lined dish?
+Colleen Nolan-Dahlstrom Hi Colleen, Once the fudge cools, I lift the fudge out of pan with foil attached. Pull the foil aways from the sides of fudge before cutting!! ENJOY!! -Deronda :)
Bunches of thanks...Carolina!! Test your candy thermometer to see if you're getting an accurate reading. To do this...add the end of you're thermometer to a pot of boiling water...if the reading on your thermometer is 212 degrees F. or 100 degrees C. you'll know you're getting a correct reading. If not, invest in a new candy thermometer! You're fudge will not stuck to the foil if cooked to the correct temperature of 234 degrees F.!! ENJOY!! -Deronda :)
Carolina Skiffer Turned out great, and tried an additional ingredient on the next batch! I added a 10oz bag of Reeses chocolate chip morsels at the same time as the semi-sweet chocolate and it turned out spectacular!!! Thanks for all of your video's!
Awesome & you're very welcome...Carolina!! That bag of Reese's would indeed be an yummy addition!! Happy to know it was spectacular!! Forever ENJOY!! -Deronda :)
If it turned out gooey or sticky you likely didn't cook it quite long enough. I cooked the full 5 minutes and the fudge was dry and hard. Cooked it for 3 minutes and it was sticky and gooey. You probably guessed right if you thought 4 minutes of stirring after coming to a boil worked perfectly. It did for me anyways. I think it's more of an art than following the directions perfectly. My best batch out of 30 years making fantasy fudge cooked for 3 minutes and 45 seconds after coming to a roiling boil. Using my old wooden spoon that was as close to perfect as I've ever come. Had pneumonia for Christmas this year so I'm just now feeling like I have the strength for the stirring that is so critical to make the best fudge possible. Just like momma used to make.
I followed the recipe to a T. When i turn the heat down to medium while still stirring and put my thermometer in theres brown stuffnin the mixture like its burnt even though i stir it the whole time and when I get almost done stirring in all my chocolate chips my mixture immediately gets very thick like cake batter....what am I doing wrong?!
the recipe on the jar is impossible for me to read because it's too tiny --- therefore, i went to TH-cam hoping someone would sow ingredients & demo this --- thank you so much, Deronda, Merry Christmas & hugs, SOS
I have made this fudge first time turned out. Couple months went by and I made another round and this time it has sugar crystals once my fudge was cooled. What did I do wrong? Please help!
I tried making this and it did not turn out right.I could not get it to firm up.A couple things I think I did wrong are I didn't have a candy thermometer and I used a whisk to blend the creme and choc. The finished product is very gooey and you can taste the sugar.I'm thinking I didn't cook it long enough and introduced air by using whisk. What do you think
+tillie landis Yes you didn't cook it long enough to reach proper temperature. Candy thermometer is especially important if making a double or triple batch!
Did the recipe use to call for a pound of chips before all the packages started shrinking? I just made it and it doesn’t look as chocolatey as I recall from my childhood.
Another comment said they tried and it worked, not sure if it was mini marshmallows or big ones. Seems the small ones would melt faster. I was thinking about adding mini marshmallow to it so they wold NOT melt, sort of add last instead of nuts.
My original kraft marshmallow Creme bottle 40s or 50s not sure calls for 6 oz can of evaporated milk, 1 cup parkay margarine + temps at 238°. It also says One cup of light cream may be substituted for the 6 ounce of evaporated milk. I believe these to be the original ingredients don't know why they were changed.
I tried this, I got this very thick end result unlike yours. I noticed this started after I put the last 1/3 of chocolate in. What could of caused this?
Foods101withDeronda Yes. I remember when I was first married and planned to make everything my husband & I were limited but loved about the holidays. I cannot count the trips to the store trying to make fudge. My mouth is watering. Can we substitute anything else for evaporated milk? Lol I don’t want to run to the store 😂

After you reach a rolling boil just set your timer for 4-5 minutes. It should be good!!

You're very welcome...Bonnie!! Forever ENJOY your FUDGE!! -Deronda :)

I tried this, I got this very thick end result unlike yours. I noticed this started after I put the last 1/3 of chocolate in. What could of caused this?
Hi Ratikal!! The faster you stir in your chocolate chips...the less likely you'll experience this problem!! ENJOY!! -Deronda :)

Yes. I remember when I was first married and planned to make everything my husband & I were limited but loved about the holidays. I cannot count the trips to the store trying to make fudge. My mouth is watering. Can we substitute anything else for evaporated milk? Lol I don’t want to run to the store 😂
I'm adding this to my fudge recipes. I have a marshmallow fudge one. May be the same may not...
Mine wasn't that thick... could I have I done something wrong?
I thought you weren’t supposed to stir a lot so you don’t create sugar crystals? How do I avoid making large crystals?
