Will you plz tell which nexus preset you use for violin and strings plz ❤️
Well done!

The idea is good, but when it comes to creating strings for scoring, it's better not to keep them on the grid, I mean, let the strings flow between each other, so it creates major tension and feels more real. Good job btw
How??
Do you mean have the previous strings overlap the next sometimes?
@@rukafuu It's called legato, when you play the next note before the previous note ends to make it flow more smoothly.
@@rukafuu *Facepalm*

I like it VERY much because it's the first time I have seen something different on FL studio rather than all the edm songs

I am marveled by people criticizing a score created in 17 minutes
Best comment here
honestly the chord progression used here with what was done, could of been done way faster than 17 minutes .. im marveled it took him 17 minutes to come up with this. Just saying
It's not a score it's an abomination
A "score" find a scene in any film that this music would fit in....
Anik Talukder this would be able to fit in a specific montage of a movie. It’s just thin and sounds cheaply done.
These are the kind of tutorials I want! Just watching someone as they actually compose a song.
Go watch Alex Moukala. I know he uses big libraries but you can follow along with other libraries. There are some decent free libraries like "Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover"

This is an edm track with strings. The staccato rhythm is completely trance music.
Dude! People are selling online albums of this kind of music, and you just showed us how to make our own! I'm stoked! Thank you!
Lol
I'm a beginner and I know basically nothing about composing. This video helped me with understanding basics of FL Studio
I just needed some tips about how to use these tools
Great work man
What a FANTASTIC way to show How EASILY a great idea Can be sketched.. This Is for people who doesn't have any Musical theory Background but yet are Composers at HEART.... This would encourage people to take a bigger leap and become better in their SKILLS....
Yeah...good luck with that.
how to make film score music
this guy: *pop chords*
that's what i was thinking lol
Finally! A tutorial that shows that you don't need big expensive libraries to make dope film music.
I loved seeing the process. Definitely taking a few pointers here and making some epics of my own.
Thanks a mil and keep it up!!
Dude it fucking sucks. If you tried to use this generic unrealistic cheap sounding turd as a film soundtrack everybody would laugh at you. People with absolutely no knowledge should stay away from things that can't understand yet, let alone trying to teach them, failing.

I know this is an old comment, but well said! This is just a teaching tool to help when you, so that when you get the "realistic non-cheap sounding stuff" you'll know what you're doing. Don't let these haters discourage and bring you down, because they haven't produced or made and epic film score that anyone knows about.
Well done for a 17 minute demo. Good job showing the use of the software. You've obviously been working with it for a while. For all the neg commenters below, you've got 17 minutes, On your mark, get set, GO!
I don't think that a lot of people are hating on him/her. Clearly, he/she hasn't made a lot of orchestral music and I actually applaud them for stepping out of their comfort zone and trying a way different genre. You can make something far better in 17 minutes but, I think this is a perfect way to go through it in an easily digestible way for people new to orchestral music.
Made this in 30 minutes. As most of my stuff. th-cam.com/video/1DF6i2JkG3M/w-d-xo.html

Letting the strings overlap from the grid, is actually better if you plan to make orchestral scores. Just a tip for the newbies 👍.
Honest question. What does "overlap from the grid" mean?
@@NatanaelJKatiandagho let the tail end of those notes in the piano roll overlap the next for a smooth transition/larger sound.
No other words. Just one straight word. Mind blowing. Pls make a video on the procedure to arrange a music for a tune. Like from intro, interlude and outro. Hopefully you will do this. Thank you very much
That final result, while a bit repetitive, is an epic sound.
The end result sounds very basic and without much life to it, it sounds very stale because you've used no humanization at all. Offset notes from the grid, work with different velocities, and so on. If you would've done those things it would've sound less stale and hopefully give it more realism. I probably would've picked a different instrument than Nexus though, probably some Kontakt libraries for a bit more control and a more realistic end result.
I feel even if he did humanize, most people would not notice in the end result. At least, starting and ending note position humanization from my experience, nobody without an ear for it will notice. Things like velocity humanization, however, are very different. Had he done that, I do believe it would have changed the feel of the entire track, so there I agree with you.
ARTFX I think the same
Nexus banks at too shitty for that stuff, I mean this was basically just 4 EDM chord thrown on a string sampler
You guys forgetting one thing... The brass section bro😓
Offcourse he just did the basics, you can’t write a score in 17 minutes. But I understand what you mean. An orchestra has to sound as realistic as possible
The end product was incredibly basic, but it definitely helped me with the components of an orchestral track. Many thanks, man.
Its just an idea so l'm not gonna judge down the professional little things.
But at the very beginner level :
1. You could've randomised the piano-notes velocity to impersonate human-touch emotions.
2. If people learn through this and start using nexus, they could really roll themselves to a completely different road. I'm a big fan of nexus, but those intricate sounds feel too electronic. Maybe some amount of nexus can be used and not more than one or two times.
Wish 'Kontakt' was there in this video.
3. It would've really been better if the people could actually learn how to make drums. So they could do something very original.
4. Those uplifters were not cinematic/film-scoring-sounding uplifters at all. Native Instrument's Rise and Hit, is the best I've ever seen yet. But the ones used in here, weren't even a bit close.
With all due respect, I guess you've realised all this and you'll keep it in consideration for your upcoming, better tutorials.
Thank You. :)
this is a good entry level composition to show beginners like myself what can be achieved fairly easily with a little practice and knowledge of the fl program...as for the remarks about native instruments packs..they are amazing....if,you have the money to buy them...well done and ive subbed :)

For those who are finding the presets on Nexus, it’s all in XP Dance Orchestra. Works in Nexus 2.2.
1:32 My favourite chords. Alan Walker used the same chords in Sad Sometimes, Sky and Alone 💙
This is honestly more like generic electronic music except the synths are replaced with strings. I'm no advanced composer but this is really REALLY basic. Sounds like Alan Walker. Hmm I really wonder why...

I KNOWW I WAS THINKING THE SAME
this is art. Good work
Jeyyy I am Hans Zimmer now👍
If you think you can be like Hans Zimmer then you need to learn more about 'classical'/orchestral/art music
Wait. You're saying he doesn't record an actual orchestra?
Imiy F. Yep his specialty is in orchestral synthesis, he does know how to write a music score but he uses synthesisers
That isn't true. While he does that often, there are literally videos of him bringing the score unto an entire orchestra, and working with them on doing it that way. Of course, he writes a draft synthetically as a sort of demo, but what you hear in the movies are often, if not almost always done with a full, live orchestra. Watch some of his life stuff sometimes.
emaonn cseplo I believe the entire gladiator soundtrack is made in a DAW. You are right. He scored most of the Lion King and that was a real orchestra.
All I need to know is how to do this and you gave me ideas so thanks and the ending sounds great

All these comments saying its basic or it doesn't sound realistic and all this. Its made in 17 minutes... give this person a break ffs. it's good.
15:40 the final result
I enjoyed the video. It takes training and/or practice to be able to arrange orchestra scores. Well done
Okay, I guess this could be useful for entry level composers who know basically nothing, but I really hope most people don't take these tips to heart. This is the most boring and stale way of composed and arranging a piece.
If you want to get good, listen to the greats, train your ear, and learn from them. Try to imitate if you want. That will be better practice than creating these generic 4-chord car commercial tunes, arranged as if its an EDM song with strings. There is not a single scene in any movie that would fit this.
That said, I do like the drums.
@Kore VFX
I'd happily want to answer all of your orchestration and / or composition questions, but it would have to be more specific.
"What I would differently" is a question you can answer in a 1000 different ways.
The main problem with this demonstration is that it is a totally overused and uninspired 4 chord progression that repeats constantly (which is something that rarely works in film or orchestral music). As well as the orchestration in this is uninspired, flat and generic; which is the biggest problem. Hans Zimmer's world famous compositions are often just 4-chord progressions as well, but they are orchestrated and produced on such a grand scale with lots of flourishes that make it an interesting piece.
This demonstration is just a 4 chord progression with the chords MIDI mapped to sounds that happen to be orchestral. And that isn't orchestral composition.
If you want to improve your film music composition I suggest carefully listening to great intricate film music to figure out what is happening, and what the instruments are doing.
I suggest John Williams' work or great orchestral program music like: (first that come to mind)
-Strauss - Alpine Symphony
-Holst - The Planets
-Debussy - La Mer, especially, but almost all of his orchestral music was program music.
-Rachmaninoff - Isle of the Dead.
-Dekas - Sorcerer's Apprentice
-Ravel - Pavane pour une infante défunte
-Saint-Saëns - Danse Macabre or Carnival of Animals.
You can listen to these with a score sheet that follows along. There are many videos like this on TH-cam will really help you figure out what the orchestra is doing.
I hope this helps a bit.
@Kore VFX
No worries, I was a bit too negative in my original comment too, but I just hoped that people don't watch this and think this is how you make high quality film music.
E-P-I-C Track 🎼 I need more like this BGM... Sounds epic👏
No brass? No winds? Not even realistic strings and percussions.. Where's the orchestra!? 😅😂
Better use Kontakt for that :)

I subbed immediately because I was expecting this to be about actual orchestral music. Then I saw Nexus and instantly unsubbed.
ThatGuy for that, search for DAGMA ;)
+Sh!ft Master
Any orchestral sounds you might find from Nexus are garbage. Static, unrealistic, cheap, tinny bullshit.
And it didn't help either that the music he made is an 8 bar loop of the most generic chord progression layered with a "piano" arpeggio.
ThatGuy hey check ouy my page all real classical orchestra composed by me no nexus lol
You can fix that using auto clips, is a little bit boring but works
Sh!ft Master You really have no experience in music production. Nexus is trash when used outside of EDM. The song was also trash, as well as the video because it didn't even explain shit.

very basic
KriZma Fl Studio here’s the attention you’ve ordered
Very basic indeed, I wouldn't call this orchestration
Agree
Akira Satoru. you must be talking about yourself. Anybody studying orchestral would tell a ton of thing that are missing. In that state it is just barely a mock up. The note on violin melody on bar 8 is not sounding good. The high end on wiolin actually introduce hiss which is bad, the overall arrangement is fair enough yet I don't like the bass being used like a snare roll it sounds weird to me but whatever. Plus the most important part is how the instruments are used. It sounds dead and robotic. It is written like eletronic music with natural sounding instruments. That said learning how to properly use the instruments is not really a walk in the parc.
Yep
Great work guys!! Loving it!
