      SeraphinaAizen1 Yeah, me too. Probably because it was in the Thinking Atheists list and not Aron's. I'm going to have to go through EVERYONES playlist now, just to be sure that I haven't missed anything else.

    No person will ever replace Hitch. AronRa isnt here to try to replace him but offers insights that are invaluable just the same. We need to support those that carry the torch as AronRa does. He is an extremely intelligent guy so listen up... you might learn something.

    I have listened to many recordings of myself with a headset mic , and never heard my own breathing. This wasn't my mic, and there was no sound check. They simply it on seconds before going on stage, and I had no idea that it was on too close. In fact I think I adjusted it even closer. Sorry about that everyone.

    Two points;
    1) The internet, the ability to freely discuss topics with people outside your familial and social circle is truly up there with one of the best inventions ever be made (so far)
    2) I wish that Aron, Matt and Seth (TTA) could be funded to come down to the next Aussie Atheist Convention. Last year was HUGE. And I think that they would get a as much of a kick out of the crowd as the audience would with them.
    Thanks for posting the vids TTA!

    i am an unabashed aronra fan.i have heard snippets of his story on another video of him speaking a year ago (or two),but this was a more in depth presentation.i appreciate his story so very much.he addresses here some things that bothered me for years while a xtian (and of course, afterwards) and the icing on this is that i do not feel so dumb for having been willingly clinging to beliefs in the past.thank you for this post!

    One of atheisms finest examples: Aaron Ra being logical, honest and speaking intelligently. Coming to conclusions and using his brain and finally arriving at reality after being indoctrinated into religion as a child. Religion is child abuse. It has held back humanities progress. Just imagine how far ahead we would be if there was no religion.

    Other than that weird part about the occult in the middle of his speech, I found the talk very enlightening. I always appreciate people when they say where their thinking was wrong before they improved upon it. It makes me question the definition of 'stupid' I once held. Stupid isn't being wrong about the obvious, it's being wrong about the obvious and refusing to learn the truth.

    @Flyborg You're right, people do separate from the masses and gather into like groups, and that is the point. I see the separation, and it is never a good idea, particularly here. These are great people, who fight for something extremely important, and community can be a very good thing. But, community also makes it easier to feel safe, and harder to see problems. They are doing and have done incredible work, but that doesn't make them immune to an outside perspective.

    I know what he's talking about when he said he was debating someone and they turned into a manaquine. This is normally when you come up with something they can't counter at all and they often pretend it is a complete lie, or pretends that it was never said.

    god i love these ppl!!! (teehee). i'm a recovering Orthodox Christian. i've been sober for 8 months. i asked the questions, i did the research, and after a year of searching, i found the answer. there is no "god" in the sense they claim there is. and found this to be true of not just christianity, but every other religion i could find. im sad that there is no afterlife, but if i no longer exist, i won't miss living now will i? XD at least that's the way i try to see it...

    I used to have arguments with my sister on evolution and I would try to explain to her that you don't have to give up your belief in god to accept evolution but she couldn't get away from a creationists view even though she wasn't a literalist. Fortunately she decided to go to college for anthropolgy and after her first month of the class she now accepts evolution and realizes that what I was talking about was true, I just explained it poorly and she thought she would have to give up belief.

    During the time when I was losing my faith, there was a pastor that said, believing in god wasn't enough to get to heaven. He said that demons believed in god, but demons are not saved, so why should we be saved simply by believing? We must be BORN AGAIN in order to be saved, or some BS like that :\
