I literally used to get called into the “back room” after almost every meeting for the most bazaar things… “sister, we noticed you weren’t wearing any stockings, we noticed your skirt has a long split in it (was a long pencil skirt that had a split from my knee to the floor), we noticed your heels are really high (platform high heels), etc…

Not only can you not “Cheers” one another but they also don’t like anyone to “Toast” to anything either. Like toasting to the new bride and groom. Also to go along with that I used to be so confused as to why we couldn’t clink on the glasses at weddings encouraging the bride and groom to kiss. It was absolutely harmless and all in good fun. It didn’t make a lick of sense to me. None of what they “frown upon” makes any logical sense whatsoever. 😂

Right when you look to buy a vehicle it must be appropriate for FIELD SERVICE. My dad was such a SUCKER for that one. Every time he got a new vehicle he would buy a mini van and then he got stuck driving everyone around for field service. Putting all those miles on his vehicle…😂 Oh the memories….😆

I was told the reason they cant say "God bless you" is because a long time ago, there were some pagens who believed sneezing was demons being expelled from the body.
I was never a witness but my dad's family was so I studied for awhile.
One day I was in the supermarket and ran into a couple sisters and I was wearing a hoodie that said GOT JESUS.
The next day my study conductor showed up at my door, wanting to know why I would be wearing THAT hoodie.

Other things to add to your list of things JWs can’t join in with is The Harvest Festival, Dancing round the Maypole, Firework night also called Bonfire night( 5 th November.) Betting and Gambling even entering competitions to try and win a prize could be seen as ‘ seeking your own advantage’ Doing the thumbs up sign is not allowed. Oh another one is no flirtatious movements on the dance floor. Really I wondered why JWs are such happy and smiling people
with all these restrictions then I remembered that at the conventions they are ‘told ‘from the platform that they are a happy people serving a happy god .

I just have to say that my mother, although JW while I was disfellowshipped, she always kept in contact and visited us in Spain.... Like a "real christian". We even talked about the problems - and her comment was simply: "I am too old to change now". She died several months later from a heart operation due to refused blood-transfusion. I was devastated. One of my old JW friends just gave me (one day when I had financial trouble) 3500 without asking it back. So I guess it all depends on the individual - NOT the cult. This we all know.

After Dinah Carrol their was a actress named Teresa Graves (in the 70’s) she was the first black actress to star in her own action series, “Get Christy love”. She became a JW during the height of her career and gave it up. She died in destitute in a apartment fire. SAD.

I am 70 about to be 71 and yet still dealing with it as I never became a Jehovah Witness, but was naive to fall in love with one Unknowingly in that she was one but was disfellowship at the time we met at my mother's Thanksgiving Dinner Party in November 1984. Ending up with a daughter who shunned me along with her, Mom to this day.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you, Ivan! I had two sister - in laws and seven nieces and nephews raised in this cult so i know about the shunning. It's very painful! This stuff that happens in the W.T is stuff that is not in the bible. Their religion is not a relationship with God, it's just a bunch of do's and don'ts with them trying to make themselves righteous before God. Have a blessed day.
On the issue of blood, my mom passed away last September and the main reason was because she refused blood. Then in October or November they announced how it is a conscious matter between you and “Jehovah”.
I and my siblings were crushed.

No laser tag is so crazy. No water guns is just as dumb. They nitpick about silly things. I wore a ring around the base of the knot of my tie. We're talking a sterling silver ring, nothing that flashy, I was young and it looked cool. I couldn't make sense of a lot of things, but being confronted about that was strange. Then theres the sideburns, beard, hair too long or too short, etc. Just never seemed right to be so concerned about such little things. Depriving kids of fun is silly but depriving them with life saving blood...well... that's just messed up.
1. Thanksgiving! My mom says well, we aren’t celebrating, we have to eat and I’m off work 😂
2. Swimming attire. I always had a one piece but because of my shape, had to wear a shirt or not swim. My mom says they are men first then JW’s, to excuse their wandering eyes.

Actually at 19:53 I need to bring a little correction. The Watchtower said that in the "What Does the Bible Really Teach" book in chapter 16 it states that it is a matter of circumstance and conscience. A JW can accept Christmas gifts if the person is aware that they do not celebrate holidays. I was the book study conductor when we went over that part.

It was the apostle Paul ("Johnnie-come-lately") who said HE "do not permit a woman to teach"; ie, the pulpit is only designated to MEN (from a largely Patriarchal script). Did Jesus tell him that?? Was it INSPIRED? Paul actually had little-to-no respect for the "SACRED FEMININE" or women in general. Paul was not associated with Jesus while he was on earth, watching him, listening to his wisdom, gaining insight along with the 12 "apostles of the lamb". And his single experience on the "road to Damascus", on his way to actually PERSECUTE Christians, was not sufficient to equip him to make that statement. In one 'version' of scripture he actually admitted that it was his OWN OPINION, but he THOUGHT he also had God's agreement on the matter. Too many preachers and christians take everything in the Bible too literally, when The Revelation said everything was presented in "signs and symbols". Concerning Jesus, scripture says that "without a parable he would not speak to them" (in order to test the sincerity of their hearts along with their DESIRE to know truth), and he actually grieved that only very few came back for an explanation and deeper understanding. It is so psychologically tragic that those JWs who disagree with the TRUTH you speak are too spiritually blinded that they are totally unaware that it is the strength and tight stranglehold of watchtower's intense indoctrination that is speaking through them, and not their pre-JW mindset, because that has been overtaken by and fully absorbed into the cult. Sadly, this has all been done on a subliminal level, the level beneath the CONSCIOUS level of the mind where the ART of CRITICAL THINKING is taboo. It is NOT ALLOWED.

I had two sister-in-laws in this cult and the rest of my first husbands family would invite them and their family at some other time of the week to celebrate holiday's as long as nothing was said about the holiday. The gift giving was acceptable to my youngest sister-in-law as long as it wasn't on the holiday, the other sister-in law got up and left the family function if anyone tried that. And oh my the shunning! If one was out then the other would show up at the function early to let us know that she can't talk to the one who is shunned. It got to be funny after a while but I'm sure it wasn't to the ones who were shunned.

The control is beyond extreme. Also, there are major differences depending on the region. "Urban" i.e., Black congs have significantly more restrictions than "suburban" or less melanated congs. And since *in most instances* those congregations DONATE the most, the governing nobodies look the other way.

One of the elders wives got “caught” wearing a bikini at her own underground pool get together in her backyard. She had invited a bunch of JW wives and their kids over to swim at their pool. My mom had brought me and my sister over there. It was all the wives would talk about later on. So scandalous! And an elders wife TOO! *Gasp* 😂

This was pretty good. I meant to comment on the last video, but it's just that with some things that you say, it's a rather limited viewpoint. Like when it came to the music, you said that they're racist because rap music isn't allowed. I'm not saying they not racist, but you literally didn't say Heavy Metal.
They always said Heavy Metal and Rap. And then, of course, overtly romantic R & B, but also a whole LOT of rock groups. I was in Bethel in the early 2000s and there was a list of groups they gave to new Bethelites to make sure they weren't listening to these groups like Deftones, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Incubus, to name a few. Also, if you were in Europe, Rave music couldn't be listened to, either, since the scene was heavy into drugs.
With this video, another thing you can't do is work a job where you'd have to sell cigarettes.
With the blood thing, you can't have steak medium rare.
The whole nice things is, my experience, region dependant. In parts of New York and PA, there are halls that are well off and.people have NICE things. But in the inner city, ive seen that been discouraged because they dont want the friends who don't have it to feel bad.
But you guys are doing good! I would say whenever you do a list video like this that you maybe list the official scriptural reason as to why the witnesses believe it (even if it's bogus) and then talk about your viewpoint and break down why it's ridiculous.
