Hilarious, but true. You have your elite families that are staunch followers, then you have the bros and sisters that are lighter in their beliefs. I've seen ones literally turn their heads and nose up at a single mother of 3 at the hall, trying to avoid greeting them. Poor young single mother was looking for love in all the wrong places. The Shunning, it was brought up "We practice expulsion, but it's up to each individual family member to decide whether to have contact with those who left the religious community" during the trial in Norway. Who's lying?.... or maybe that's new light to be revealed in 2024. lol
I think after the Norwegian attorney played the video (and Caleb and Sophia about being baptized young), about the daughter being baptized young (and it showed it) and being kicked out of the house contradicted the legal team for the JW's.
Ya’ll hit the nail on the head with this one!! I was considered somewhat of a ‘favorite’ bc my uncle was an elder in the hall. But I was publicly reproofed before I totally left bc I got pregnant but I might as well had been disfellowshipped based on how they treated me!!

I remember I was invited to the beach with some jw people as a bible study student and when they went to pray before they eat, I asked if I can say the prayer and they won't let me and it was weird. I thought they would of, and now I recognized they viewed me as someone lower in a relationship with Jehovah.

Yep that was exactly it. Especially since you weren’t baptized it was like you weren’t in a real “position” to pray over the food for everybody. Women can’t even pray over a group unless they have a head covering on….I’d like to know where they got that idea 😅
Also what I experienced is that a lot of times, people falling for this easily are people who are vulnerable or in a very bad situation and along comes a JW to the door with 'the right words/brochure' for their situation. My mom had that, every study she had, was a person with a lot of life and/or financial troubles, divorced, single moms that got kicked out, people that had lost somebody, people that needed help with papers, cleaning, that are in need of help by people like social workers and so on. But no, my mom took care and still does a her and the families expanse. My dad always called her Mother Teresa and familyfriends our houseThe Inn because everyone could come in and ask for help, no matter their circumstances or our circumstances...I know she does it out of the goodness of her heart, but it was not fun, especially because at one point she landed in the hospital because her body and mind were so overworked, she crashed. Madness
My parent’s went inactive decades ago. Right before we moved an elder talked to both my parent’s. He said that if they wanted to return at a new Kingdom Hall where were moving , they had meet with elder’s first . That the elder’s would need to check on their spirituality first . My parent’s took us to a couple of halls maybe once or twice . They never met with the elders and we got up fast to leave so they wouldn’t ask them who they were. Then we would maybe go to the memorial here or there some years . My mom would have me turn on the sprinklers if I was outside playing and saw JW’s heading down the street and to come inside . It was a very confusing childhood . 😂

I can attest to what you are saying about disfellowshipping. In my congregation there was one elder that was in control of the congregation, he was the congregation secretary. When a sister who studied with this elder's wife commited adultry and it was uncovered (she was married and the brother she had sex with was married too) she was only given a reproof. When I had sex with a widowed sister I was disfellowshipped by this elder, He was known to disfellowship people often, except his wife's former student. Now I'm done with this fraudulent religion.
As a 'bible study' I quickly learned the way friendships work in the congregation. I was 'lovingly' teamed up with a super zealous pioneering sister. And I was 'lovingly' advised not to visit certain brothers or sisters...

100% I’m 37 year old with a wife and 5 soon to be 6 kids and I left in 2012 after I found a lot out about what’s going on behind the scenes and I never went back. But we moved back to Newfoundland where we are from. We lived in Alberta for 13 years and made a good living lots of work and money but I decided to move home to better my kids around there family! Which my dad started the congregation where I grew up and just this year dad said to me I could easily come back with open arms even after not talking to me or my family for years since we moved home to be with them!! I’m home now on the rock Newfoundland but there is no work back here and I and my wife are treated like garbage my dad even ignores me in front of other brothers or sisters in the hall witch really hurt me but my parents are truly loving people and they are still there for us if needed but other then that we don’t see them and I moved my family all the way across Canada to be with family only to find out I don’t have a true family that I feel that don’t truly love us. It’s hard but I know it’s harder on my kids my oldest boy who’s 14 now quit his study with my dad last spring and my dad hasn’t reached out to him only once during Christmas he brought him out for pizza and to ask him if he’s ready to start studying!! My son took the stand of our family and asked my dad ( why would I ever want to be a part of any religion that when I become one I can no longer talk to my dad anymore? My dad had no answer for him and told him I’m the reason for his thoughts even though we don’t talk religion at our house lol I’m growing my family with a lot of faith and love and only god can read our hearts and that’s that. Thanks guys for the courage for speaking out for others that can’t. It’s so sad seeing families getting ripped apart by This religion and it has to stop!! I couldn’t have any privileges back a few years ago because of the hair on my face but now even my dad has a Santa Claus beard now lol because a man told him he’s 80 years old now and is proud of his beard but because A man didn’t say anything before he could never have one or anyone else or u were considered a bad person to be around.. so much to say and it never ends
I remember once trying to leave after the prayer and one "sister" mind you she was a big women so if she's blocking somewhere you have to say let her know so she could move. Anyway I was trying to leave an as I was trying to leave she stood in the door way and acted like I didn't exist. I said excuse me once she had the audacity to look at me and proceed to ignore me again like I was being rude. All I wanted to do is leave she was literally trying to force me to stay and watch her conversate. When I say I yelled Excuse me for the last time she moved out the way. She knew she was being a bitch smh another reason why I hate going. I can't wait to denounce myself.

I had not attended for over 8 years and they hunted me down to do a judicial hearing in my parents unfinished basement. I hadn't been attending as I was electrocuted and in a bad car accident riding with an elders daughter in law. I was df'd and my family hasn't talked to me in 20 years

Thanks so much for informing people about your story and experience. JWs at my door never want to just talk. It's hard to get to know them. I'm also struck by the way JWs distort the Bible. So many of these verses that you quote are taken out of context. 1 Corinth 5 deals with incest in the Church, not common issues. It's an extreme issue. JWs try to apply it to everything. Or 1 Corinth 15: 33. Paul's referring to people denying Jesus' resurrection, not common problems that people face. Jws are again, distorting the Bible for their own ends. Keep up the good work. I got called in the back room and I was honest about what i was doing and that i would continue. I had no thought that i wouldn't be disfellowshipped. I think they really tried not to disfellowship me, but again I believe in bejng honest and not being uncomfortable. You guys made me think about some things I had forgotten. SMH. I still have family in (PIMO I think) I hope they wake up soon.😞
Agree that the article did over simplify that practice, but I was impressed that it did accept the term 'shun' which I have not seen before. The organization assumes we are all bad at heart...so they expect us to be easily tainted....I think.

I wholeheartedly wish that this was the same way with my Ex-Wife and our eventual Daughter back in the day of our Marriage. You both so on POINT as we are all human and we do show favoritism to those we are close with, and that's in anything that Mankind develops be JWs or any Church or Organization, Schools, Clubs, Sports, what ever we endeavors as Human Beings.
I was so annoyed and angry with my neighbor who said good morning or hello to me after the incident, and I didn't respond, and then Biblically came to realize that I was wrong, as I tend to hold onto anger. That's a bad trait in me that I have to overcome.

I had been a JW for 5 years & on a Saturday it was time for field service. My ex wife was standing outside front of the hall awaiting a ride from some sisters. The sister saw my ex wife & drove intentionally right by my ex. I went to the Elder who was elderly & I spoke about him questioning the sisters. He told me I wouldn’t do that. Telling me it would be a mistake, & would be better to just leave & transfer to a different hall. 😡
We went to a different hall, we were welcomed with open arms & we attended for several weeks. It never felt like home to speak. We subsequently greatly reduced our attendance & stopped going. It was at this time I made the decision to return to the Military (Army) some Brothers came to our home & I told them I was done. (Some back ground) I had 17 years 4 months in the Army, however my ex said I would have to leave the Army & give it up. I was 38. Which I did🤬At the time 8 years later at 46 I wanted to return to the Military. My ex thought it was ridiculous & that I wouldn’t be able to return at such an age.
My ex was right although because I had prior service I was able to return at “47” on 2 waivers. Fast forward I became a Drill Sergeant again as a reservist. I had left as a SFC promotable (months from being a E-8). I returned as a E-6 & retired as a E-7. I retired was diagnosed at 52 with Multiple Sclerosis. I was able to obtain 100% permanent & total qualification with the money of over $3800.00, my pension of over $2700.00, my Social Security Disability of $1850, & finally gain more money from my side line business.
All in all my Military status & subsequent disability status enabled 2 of my 4 youngest adult children attended major Universities tuition free graduating one from Premed and the other for Exercise Science. My ex is still staying around as a JW. Fully indoctrinated & her daughter is now due to get married to another female. My son went on to add 120 pounds of Muscle. Well, that’s it. Your videos are right & timely. One can come out on the other side.

I was raised Catholic and Catholics profess their sins to the priest before they can take communion again, this is called “confession”…….once you confess your sins to the priest he gives you prayers…for example “You must say 4 Our fathers and 3 Hell Mary’s… you go into the congregation(this is done after church hours)…, you kneel down and say the prayers and that’s it…the next Sunday you go to church and all is normal again….When I love came a JW and it’s a whole new ball game when you “go to confession”…SMDH!!!!
I remember this process too growing up as Catholic before choosing to become JW. When I got privately reproofed when I immediately ran to the elders for help when I got into trouble, they left me to be observed of my progress for a whole freakin' year! My Catholic days had things way easier. But I'm no longer subscribed to any organized religion anymore tho. I'm even happier.

This is faulty reasoning. It goes to show that they rely on appearances (quality of imperfect men) rather than seeing through the heart of the person (Jehovah's perfect ability). Because elders are said to be divinely chosen, the results of their judicial cases has to prove its judgment to be of divine origin therefore perfect, or else this organization is just gonna show how man-made it is. What a downgrade.
