LOL @ "it's not a science of rockets"... I'm gonna have to steal that one from you, man! Add it to my vernacular, like. Texas humor is the best humor! I recently had to attend a fancy ass formal dinner for a charity organization that I do work for, so in preparation for the event, I pulled out my best suit & shoes (unworn for over a year) from the closet. When I opened up the shoebox, to my absolute horror, the $1k+ Italian leather shoes were covered in mildew spots & mold! I got the mildew off with a stiff plastic brush, and then gave them a coat of Mink Oil, followed up with a brisk horse hair brushing. Those babies were looking chef's kiss perfect after that. Richter speaks the truth...take care of your leathers, peoples! 🙏 🙌
Thank you very much, you are very talented, you have very beautiful works, especially the cream-colored one with your full name on it the ornamentics are very nostalgic for me 🌲
AMAZING QUALITY!!! They all look great buddy. I'd have a really hard time picking a fave. I love the vertical RICHTER on the one and I love the deeper brown on the other. No matter which way ya go, that knife is gonna be riding in style!! Great video. Keep it up buddy
I love the Finish / Golden Mink Oil Grain Slip and the darker one on your OG R Slip. Personally the OG style is my #1 then #2 is the Grain style one with that shape on that particular slip. P.S. ....... That Lynch Leather Slip is gonna look really good Worn in, perfect for a Pocket Worn Case 😃👍

I've been wanting to watch this video. Thanks so much! I've been using Fiebing's Sheen (liquid) for quite a while now and of course Tokonole for burnishing the edges. That's worked great for me to put a nice shine on products. But, I'd like to try some of these suggestions as well. The horse hair brush I had not thought of before....BTW, I agree I think that darn cat put a nice look on that slip!! 😀Take care my friend!!
😂 i love how many people want to preach to me how mink oil isnt so great for treating my leather slips but your using it and people seem to really like your slips. I dont know, I am just treating my leather slips how my grandfather taught me how to car for my leather boots, sheaths and holsters.
Hi, I just found your great channel and have subscribed, thank you for a very informative and interesting video, you showed a lot of great products there and you explained how to use them very well. I love the style and patterns of your slips, I also make leather slips as a hobby, can you explain how achieved the saw cut pattern as it is fantastic. I will research the products you mentioned to see if I can purchase them here in the UK. Thank you again and I definitely work through your back catalog of videos in due course Take care Sam
Great information, the Bick’s product is great that it doesn’t darken it. Is there any difference in golden mink oil and regular? Your daughter picked out an awesome knife. Thanks for the video Richter.
Great video thoroughly enjoyed it! Entertaining and informative as always! I love the mink oil finish. What is the difference between using mink oil or saddle soap? Is the mink oil better?
Hey Michael I’m looking for a leather slip for a medium stockman (3.5 inches) and I would love to order one from you. Can you direct me on how your order process works?

Got it!

Thanks for the feedback. I’m not sure in the golden vs regular….she did pick out a cool little knife didn’t she??

Saddle soap is a cleaner and conditioner. The mink oil is my go to.
@@richterknives thank you my friend. Next time I will try the mink oil! Will the golden mink oil be OK on different colored dyed leathers?
Bought a case slimline trapper. 4 1/8 inch closed. Could you recommend where to purchase a slip “with” a pocket clip? Thanks
Lynch Leather makes an awesome clip slip.
@@richterknives Thank you!

richter_knives on Instagram. Just DM me
The only criticism I have is, I don't see your Maker Mark. You need a Maker Mark and also "Made in USA".
My stamp broke. I’m designing a new one now
How come you dont have a link to buy them? Cmon man i want them! Dont be a tease
Just DM me on Instagram. 👍
How about rubbing in Obenauf’s? It smells like honey.
Never heard of it.
Too bad that Kiwi brush is made in China. Why can't we make horsehair brushes in the US?
Agreed. I didn’t notice that. I usually pay attention to stuff like that
