    Just purchased the mp 245 with the DG 115 mid shaft. I’m coming from ping g425 irons. But I hit these mizunos today for over an hour and they are absolutely amazing

      I tried the same setup. Amazing clubs and shafts. I could swing them all day. I tried the new P770’s with that shaft as well which also plays great

    You should do a video comparing the Dynamic Gold 115 with the Nippon Pro Modus 3 115.

    Very cool…what’s your swing speed with those? I didn’t see that there…I thought shafts that are geared for higher launch usually are marketed towards those with slower swing speeds that cannot get the ball up high to begin with…

      I am upper 80s with a 7 iron, driver around 107. I think these can work for a harder swing. They also have a tour version at 130 that would be more suited for a harder swing with low launch angles.

    I have a set of JPX hot metals and these are the exact shafts I’m looking at buying, they came with graphite regular shafts and I just don’t like them. The thing is, I have no way of trying these DG shafts, without paying 500 bucks for a simple iron fitting which is absurd and ridiculous I’d never do that just out of principle unless I was looking to get fit for my entire bag and buy all new clubs, but buying a set of shafts is already going to cost me several hundred dollars and then I have to get them built etc prob another 100, adding anything on top of that just seems absurd when I could just buy a brand new set of irons for 800 bucks. I guess what I’m asking is which of these 4 shafts do you think is the best for a mid handicapper with decent swing speed? Or which is the most can’t miss of the bunch? Thanks!

      I think the 100 Mid or DG 105 is probably the best option for the greatest number of rec golfers since they are lighter. The 115 and 120 might be a bit heavy unless you know you like more weight.
      If you need more launch, the mids gave that as you can see albeit with a little greater launch window vs the lower launching DG shaft.

    AJ can you possibly do a comparison with graphite iron shafts? Expensive vs a cheaper model. For example maybe the new Axiom by Fujikura ($105 each) and the Maltby Pro series ($22)? Like a high dollar shaft vs a more economical choice to save big money.

      @@EFG2 with what is going on with the economy I can’t figure out how the golf industry can survive with prices on shafts like the Axiom and the $700 Autoflex.
      $600 for a driver now. It’s crazy. But with that said I wish you only the best with your business. You sound like a good guy and you won’t rip people off. For example the video you did about pureing a shaft. I never got that or the spine-align. With the ability to move the shaft around now you would think that theory goes out the window. Keep up the great work!

    Hi AJ - I was using Mp 18 mmc with 5.5 LZ (single digit with low 80’s 7 iron speed) - went to Edwin Watts the other day and did a “fitting” on the new Mizuno 245 and found the DG Mid 115 to give very good feel, numbers, and dispersion. I have a quick transition and on the mizuno shaft optimizer a few years back the LZ 5.5 or 6.0 was a good shaft for me. Does it make sense to you that the DG mid 115 would also work well? Thanks AJ!

    • @EFG2
      @EFG2  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Pretty similar shaft in profile. Weight is also the same with the LZ 5.5 I believe.
      The DG Mid 115 fits numerous golfer really well I have found.

    Would have been nice to mention why the mid shafts lacked 10 yards of distance! in relation to their 120 counterparts. That is the most remarkable part of this experiment

    • @toneyo4794
      @toneyo4794 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      More spin and higher launch will shorten the ball flight. The faster the swing the gap will widen due to the increase of spin and launch. If you have a slower swing speed then the mid would help because you will get a better angle of descent with a bit more spin but because swing speed is lower your distance gap will be smaller.

  • @MrMatthew262
    @MrMatthew262 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not sure what to take from this because the height and landing angle was the same but ball speed way off. Do you think you were slowing down club speed because of a looser tip?

    • @EFG2
      @EFG2  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing was on purpose. Purely a result of how my body reacts to the feel of the shaft. The averages were very similar but the deviation was larger with the Mid.

    I have the 115 wedge flex in my wedges and the feel is perfect. Would it work in my irons? I’d like the replicate the feel of my wedges full swing in my irons. The wedges are stable but not too heavy and my irons 95g xp95 r300’s that fly too high and are light and whippy.

    How does the DG Mid compare to the Project LZ shafts? I currently played the LZ 6.0 soft stepped as my preference was between the 5.5 & 6.0 but decided for the 6.0 weight with the soft step to give it a little launch. Looking to purchase the Mizuno Pro 245 and knowing that it's a low spin head, I'm wondering if the DG 115 Mid would be a better shaft option over my gamer LZ 6.0 soft stepped.

      Can I please get an update on the decision you made? I’m currently between DG 115 Mid S300 and Project X 6.0 or 5.5 if needed. They both felt amazing to me.

      @@jaewoolee8379 I ended up purchasing the Mizuno Pro 245 with the Project X LZ 5.5 hard stepped. I never tried the DG Mid and didn't have the time to demo before the purchase so I opting for the LZ that I was familiar with. I also opted for the LZ 5.5 instead of my previous gamer 6.0 due to wanting something lighter but the hard stepping gets it closer to the 6.0.

    Is it true that the manufacturing tolerances are poor and all of these shafts have a wide variance in shaft weights? I’ve read that the weights are all over the place.

    • @EFG2
      @EFG2  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      True Temper states that the standard model Dynamic Gold for example can have 2g + - on weight. That means you can have 2 shafts that are 4g apart. That is probably about the most I usually see, 4-5g. Different brands can have different tolerances though.

    Why the 3.6 mph loss in ball speed for the 115 and 1.6 mph loss in the 100?

    • @EFG2
      @EFG2  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think since the 120 is my preferred shaft I already am used to it and swing it more comfortably. Lighter weight I struggle with consistency. The more active tip also gave me more variation in contact so not surprised to see the larger spread just like I saw with launch and spin numbers.
      Good catch, I had not even been paying attention to those numbers.

  • @atxrich

    I just went thru a fitting for the Mizuno Pro 245 irons. The DG 115 Mid is the stock shaft but I was able to test it against others including the DG 120.
    In my demo, I was getting pretty much identical launch numbers (19*-20*) with both shafts but roughly 400rpm more spin with the 115 Mid. 83-85mph 7-iron SS. The DG 120 dispersion was a bit more consistent, but I felt the 115 Mid a bit easier to load once I got into a groove. The MP 245 is a low spin head (for my delivery), so I went with the 115 Mid to give me that extra touch of spin.
    After roughly a week, I’ve really gotten into a groove with this shaft/head combo. I can easily control trajectory and shape shots with absolutely no issue.
    I’m also planning on pairing it with the Pro V1x to give me a bit more launch and spin.
    I know this isn’t a club review but the MP 245 is an amazing iron. Kudos to Mizuno for producing an amazing looking club head that feels amazing and performs for those needing that extra bit of help and firepower.
