Finally someone with some sense and research-backed knowledge. Your videos are very well done. Most apprecaited. As a one half brahmin and a student of Vedas, I subscribe to many of your interpretations. I think you speak as it was meant, with enough rationality and neutrality. Kudos. Thank you. Do more.
Harshit Pant guru sishya parampara is one of the many ways to gain true knowledge. If it suits you, I am happy for your to learn. The greatest aspect of sanata dharma is that it recognises, and acknowledges that one size does not fit all. There is ample room for everyone's personal individual expression. Be it the way we learn or what we learn about or how we seek true knowledge. Take, Arjuna who was school through guru-sishya parampara in gurukuls. And he was a great warrior. On the other hand, eklavya gain the same knowledge and abilities through self learning. I hope this clarifies and breaks down the wall you have built in your mind about how to learn. I did also have the basic taught to me by a Brahmin. Brahmin meaning an educated person not an individual of a certain caste.
I want more of these. Please keep talking Mr.Devdutt Pattanaik. Only a person who is passionate and has a deep understanding of a subject can put these complex concepts into such simple words. Thank you. Again...Scroll..please make more of these videos.
Who are you? Where were you so long or maybe I should say, I was living in a cave not knowing you! Loved your series. This world really needs a person like you. So inspirational and knowledgeable videos. Thanks a lot for taking the time to make these videos. You should really consider doing more and more videos about our history.
The whole series was enlightening. I really liked that you guys broke it down and made them into different videos so that all the topics were highlighted and had it been a full video some things could've lost or neglected.
Wow....just wow and hats off to this only Human being on this whole universe who has immense knowledge on Hinduism, understands and interprets correctly and has and open thought ...
Such a taboo subject not easily discussed. Talking of sensuality and spirituality, the best book I have found is 'Karmasutra' by Staju Jacob. An exceptional book which explores the connection between karma and sensuality. It is a rare to find a book that discusses these two aspects of life without too much religious dogmas. It can also challenging for a layperson, particularly a Westerner or someone who hasn't read religious texts, to understand the complex laws of karma so this book simplifies it all. This 2016 book 'Karmasutra' By Staju Jacob (by the way it is not the kama sutra book 🙂 with pictures about how to do it... but a different book) provides a nuanced and comprehensive understanding of karma and its impact on consensual sex and sexuality, curses, occult, and the karmic system. Furthermore, it presents these ideas without relying on vague terminology from Eastern religions. It is a remarkable book. I think the author is of Indian origin...some guru of some sort maybe. but that is not important. Hope this book becomes widely available in all Indian languages.... 🙂
"The human mind is like a parachute, it works only when it is open." Hinduism educates it's followers to seek knowledge through experience, observation and accepting reality with the changing of times. It is a reality, that the world has humans with different sexual orientations. Persecution or punishment is an unwarranted behavior or practice. Hinduism, has the openness to accepts, that this behavior has existed in society before, exist currently and will continue existing in the future. Waking up to this fact, can build an inclusive society rather than a judgemental society. Sad to say, that we are a judgemental society.
I used to get triggered over the Americans being hopelessly Transphobic and refusing to acknowledge Transgender as the third gender, It angered and saddened me to see then mocking and making fun of the Trans people and Calling them 'not-real' but I guess now I don't care about what people so far away think because My culture teaches me to love and I'd do that
transgender is not the third gender...its choocing from two of the binary genders... non binary is when we do nort concide with any of the two binary gender so thats the gender
The third bracket or third gender the author mentions - he says different words are used for it - homosexual, transgender, intersex. Does he mean they are the same thing with different names? That they are interchangeable? Because they are not. And homosexual can still be within the confines of the two man and woman patriarchal gender category, they'r e not another gender. But is that how it is seen in Hinduism or how the author sees it? That wasn't very clear.
what he means is that beside the ' Man and Women' everybody else ..... he doesn't mean it's interchangeable or something but it's just the 3rd thing out of the box from the previous 2 .... I hope you get my point
Wonderful Artistic Presentation with factual wrong Information. I love the way Devdut writes his stories. It’s really easy to understand his talent for story telling. But what I don’t understand why Devdut removes important chronology in all his books & changes the narrative. Is by any chance Devdut Hinduphobia? Does anybody think Devdut’s might have other agenda? What can he gain by giving misinformation to his readers? If anybody has the knowledge please explain...
parth dave You can also write the book to show the people that he has distroted the history. Even Adi Shankaracharya's work was latter criticized by many scholars but they didn't said that he was wrong. Everyone has a way to interpret everything. And nobody is Anti Brahmin. If you could define bramhin then define it and then say he is anti brahmin.
Swapnil Shinde ...will look into it...kabhi devdutt ji k Twitter reply dekhiye ...you will understand what I mean when I say anti-brahmin...by anti-brahmin I mean the potrayal of brahmins in his book ...I too am a Brahmin..Brahmin has already been define in rigveda ...so please read that my friend..😊
parth dave I asked for your definition and not from RigVeda. If you can't give your definition then I think you didn't understood your Bramhinism. For me a brahmin can be anyone who understands the life and keeps on expanding his/her mental horizon with every new experience. But I think today brahmin is only confined to the cotton thread worn by the brahmin people who were in ancient vedic times were given the responsibility of helping people with divine knowledge and atten their important aim of moksha.
Swapnil Shinde ...Brahmin is someone who keeps himself clean both physically and mentally..gains knowledge ..spreads knowledge...guides the society..remains detached from worldly pleasures ...tries to attain salvation..most important he/she lives by principles of dharm , artha ,kaam ,moksha ... that's the rigveda definition and that's mine too..Brahmin hi nahi saare factions ab apne mann ki krte hai....yeh Brahmin Brahmin mat Karo...koi bhi baba aur pandit banta hai...arthat dharmaguru...ideal Brahmin , shudra ya shatriya nahi hai aaj koi..isko redefine nahi Kiya ja sakta ...jab formation Hui thi tabhi define ho chuki hai...rigveda mein aur chanakya has also shed light on it
parth dave I doubt that you are mentally clean. Your comment doesn't says that. And being clean doesn't guarantee that the person will be a brahmin. Hope you understand the true meaning of Brahmin. Coz there is a reference in biography of Adi Shankaracharya that he bowed down in front of a Chandal ( a shudra) as he gave him the insight on who is a pure soul and who is brahmin. Baki it's your decision whether you really want to understand the real meaning or not.
yallappa dambal where did he criticise Hinduism. Please come out.of Christian brain wash we went through. We were a liberal society please don't fall into Christian belief system.
Niddhi Apoorva As he . Just I explained my views. Nothing wrong baby .As citizen of this country n a Hindu i don't have write to criticise any religion. Ok ok u can sleep on it.

It would be better if you subscribe to a guru shishya Parampara of an establised Vedic school. Devdutt spreads a lot of disinformation.

I guess one word defines Hinduism- "universalism"
pluralism of thought
ye bharat ki sanskriti hai sanwad kare har topic par bina kisi vivad ke
Auditi Gupta Not "Universalism" , but "Diversity of Thoughts & Ideas".
