Dwarka is abode of Lord Dwarkadhisha and his beloved wife Rukmini according to Puranas and Mahabharata. Skanda Purana says that Dwarka is most pious abode of Lord Krishna (Lord Vishnu). Rukmini lake and Gomati river had most pious waters and used to give moesha to person who used to bath within them. Lord Dwarkadhisha is lord of Dwarka and with his 16008 queens he forever lives there spiritually. Rukmini was reason of prosperity of Dwarka because she was Goddess Mahalakshmi.
