Foreigners Reading Too Much Into Thai Border Run Rules?

It always amazes me that so many people look to get definitive answers to immigration matters via various expat groups on Facebook and other social media platforms rather than consulting a professional or even immigration themselves.
From what I have personally experienced while being in Thailand.
Immigration will start to question you after they see multiple visa entries of you leaving the country and coming back within a short timeframe.
I was told by immigration at the airport after my 4th border run that I needed a long term visa to stay. They were kind enough to allow me back in on a visa exemption that one last time.
I now have a retirement visa.

Every time Thai immigration sneezes, Facebook blows up with unfounded statements made by uninformed people.
My question may be stupid but here goes. Why are Thai Immigration down on people attempting to spend as much time as possible in the country via extensions and border runs? I do not financially qualify for a retirement visa, however I live quite comfortablely on my $50K baht monthly pension income. Further to that, to qualify for a retirement visa I need $800K baht in a bank account. However if I get married, and assumablely support two people, I only need $400K Baht in a bank acount or $40K Baht in monthly pension income. The math and/or logic doesnt seem to make sense. Please help me to understand.
Retirement visa can be 800k baht in the bank OR 65K baht a month pension, either or.
I think those not married are more into partying which can get quite expensive very quickly.
As the country relies so much on tourism, they need to try their best to keep riff raff out . How you read that is up to you , but there are a great deal of people that don’t have your stability or wisdom

@@mattfinch3895 MFA Go th which is the Thai Ministry of Foreign affairs under required documents for O visa states this word for word "8. The applicant’s original bank statement with a minimum deposit equivalent to
800,000 THB or Income Certificate with a minimum monthly income equivalent
to 65,000 THB."

This is good content for me . O have been coming to Thailand for over 30 years and now I’m heading for a long term visa , I’d like to advise my experience in case others maybe in my position.
As we are finalising our new home and the sad event of my father in law passing , I’ve done 10 trips there and back in 2 years .
Only 3 weeks ago I was asked “ do you have a visa “ at main immigration at the grey elephant . I brushed it aside because I was in my own line up aside my Thai wife and kids.

Your videos are based on your professional experience and thankfully everyday people can easily understand them they are so much better than a casual vloger waffling on about how they feel about things. I watched a couple of videos the last week saying it is common practice to leave your passport as security when hiring vehicles wondering your thoughts is it just to avoid leaving your hard earned baht as a deposit? And are there many other instances that a business may ask to hold your passport?
Never ever leave YOUR passport with a private company or business in southeast Asia.
Photo copy plus a deposit for damages works.

Question:
What if someone is a dual citizen, holding for example both an EU passport and a Canadian passport, and they alternate between passports for 90-day border runs over a period of one or two years? Does this method effectively keep them below the radar or result in less scrutiny, given that each passport will have fewer visa stamps and be well spaced out?
Biometrics are collected upon entry and departure so they'll still know who you are across passports. If anything, suddenly switching up passports after having an extensive entry history on another may draw more attention to you.
