Greetings from Good Old Europe! Great video, thanks a lot. I found your channel looking for information on Zoot Sims & Pablo, hoping to find another Zoot-fan, and I guess I found one!

Great picks on these prompts - thanks for sharing. That Night Train album was a remarkable session. What a recording. That trio was something else. I always keep an eye out for the AP Pablo reissues. I have Basie's 'Farmer's Market Barbecue' and 'The Timekeepers' - both are insanely great-sounding. Recently heard a digital recording from 1982 by Pablo of Basie's 'Warm Breeze' - my goodness is that one a hidden gem. That Kenny Drew OJC is one I am not familiar with - need to hunt that one out. Happy New Year!

Hello Jack, I'm totally with you about comparing the 2 Pepper's albums. All the Contemporary's from Craft sound TOP but I prefer the originals that I have.

New to the channel. I have to agree that the original Contemporary releases sound terrific. Art Pepper +11 is one of my desert island records. I've got a 1973 release that I believe was pressed from the original metal work and that sounds fantastic. As good as the Craft recording is, there is something very unique and special about the Contemporary pressings. All the Shelley Manne records sound great, as well as the André Previn recordings.

Thanks Jerry---contemporary was SO ahead of their time with sound!.... still a wealth of content available in the vaults!--lets hope we get more (though my bank account will be dwindling I guess!).Thanks for watching and for your comment!-Jg
