    “A man shouting at cars!”😂😂Yes to karaoke at the pub, fantastic idea. I picked the US as well. Can’t live without soul, funk, country or jazz. Great response John. Love your channel. Cheers.

    I loved that image of Madonna supping John Smiths tinnies- really made me chuckle. So true about Inxs. I loved Suicide Blonde back in the day. Had the 7” of that - such a bassline on that record. Cheers John 👍

    I just ordered Chaos for the Fly based on your comments. Very cool Two Tone 7" records. What an interesting dinner party that would be. Everyone should have London Calling and if they don't they need to get it!

    Hi John. Great presentation style as always ... Nice selection of Two-Tone singles ... I picked Johnny Cash for my dinner party too. At the back of my mind I thought it was true that Madonna liked John Smiths. I googled it, and I'm reliably informed by the always accurate internet that her favourite cocktail is pomegranate martini; and she also drank a bottle of Miraval rose during a "wild night of partying" in 2022 (according to the Daily Mail) ... You showed my favourite record ('London Calling'), and I agree with you re the Pet Shop Boys ... I think Static Traveller might have mentioned Andre Previn before? Norman Maslov maybe?

    • @6inchpianist
      @6inchpianist  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Carl. Pomegranate Martini? I was sure that Madonna would be knocking back pints of bitter 😀. Pet Shop Boys very rarely get mentioned in the VC. I think they made some of the best pop records of the 80’s. Cheers! John

    Madonna is invited to my party too. I remember when Kravitz' Mama Said album came out. At the time there was something different about it that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Eventually I came to form the opinion that his style and sound was, at least in that time, built on nostalgia. Quite unapologetically so. He doesn't get the coverage he deserves does he, but then I often wonder if it is because much of his music could arguably be accused of plundering much of the great music from the 70s that he is so enthused about. Prince did that I know, but Prince was able to somehow turn it into his own musicale style. Few will hear Prince's music and not know that it is his, where as Lenny's music isn't quite so easily identifiable. IMHO. Happy New Year

    An excellent Tag response. My fave so far. Alot of big names and quality in there too. My fav was the killer collection of Two Tone 7s.. and the Prince boot LP. Couldnt have been easy to aquire all that. Same with the 90s LPs by Lenny and GNR rare OGs. Cheers man!

      Hey Jason. Those Lenny Kravitz OG’s aren’t too expensive. I certainly think that both Let Love Rule and Mama Said are still pretty affordable. Both great records too. The GnR albums were given to me by a mate. He turned up at my house with a big bag of 90’s rock a couple of years ago asking me if I wanted it. He didn’t have to ask twice! Cheers

    The G 'n' R release date put most people in the I can't afford both together situation. Don't think I've heard them since but I would much rather go back than those Bruce Springboard ones (Zzzzzzzzzzz). Interesting dinner party would Madge and Freddie take over and be on the table.......
    One of the best concerts ever I saw was Kravitz at Wembley arena (not an easy place to make lively) albeit there was alot of women gyrating. Kick INXS the white Lenny. Cheers John 😊

      Hi Martin. I’d love to have seen Lenny at his peak. He had a killer band too. I couldn’t afford the GnR at the time. The copies I showed were given to me by a mate who got rid of his record player. I think they both still sound good 👍

      @@6inchpianist I collect records with nude people on them, have about 300-400, maybe more. Men or Women, especially the Classical Music Covers, which are surprisingly numerous. As John Peel once said about his collection of porno items, when I die I will be remembered as a pervert! Talking of that dead sex abuser he probably persuaded me to buy a few Clash 45's aged 15. @@6inchpianist ''nice'' is not the word I'd use, anyone who listens to Queen is what I tend to call a malignant sociopathic narcissist, although the specialists might say a case of Misophonia or one of the conditions linked to an impoverised limbic system. I would add at least the Clash seemed to have some integrity and not see pop-punk as a means to enich themselves or remove the panties from young ladies, or both!
