Awesome video as always. I have learned a lot from you to.. But I'm having major back surgery on Nov-18th. I'll be up till mid March.. But I'm purchasing a storm Intense and a code red so I will be ready for next season.. Again thank you...

josh burnette Yes I purchased my code Red. It's a wonderful ball. My Intense is a fun ball to throw. I get all kinds of goofy strikes 💣

josh burnette My code red hooks very hard. It's very strong. My Intense is very versatile for me. I can play inside and also start at the 4th arrow and throw down around 1arrow and hit really hard. These are 2 really great bowling balls . .

Lumberjack bowling at 140 using 14lb 🤣🤣🤣. I watched a couple videos .. agreed with most. Content is great, commentators are awful and inaccurate to put it modest

Oh they were plastic... no wonder then i can't hook the house balls with the amount of oil the lanes have...

I weight 130 pound and my arm strength is not strong enough. I bought a 10 pound ball. I wish I can move up to 12-13 someday.

      Eric:
Norm Duke is about your weight, and is one of the best bowlers in history! A good bowling coach should be able to teach you how to roll a bowling ball effectively without needing much strength. If after your push-off, you let gravity swing the ball backwards naturally and then let gravity swing your ball forward naturally through your release, you'll see that strength isn't really important, at least in the early stages of a career. Don't go to heavier balls until it's natural for you to do so. Developing strength through practice and through strength-building exercises is good, but strength is no substitute for solid instruction from a good coach.

Thx for the reply! But without enough strength, i tend to squeeze the ball and not clearing the thumb quick enough. Also what type of strength-building exercise would be helpful to a proper release?

Also I'm having problem finding the proper thumb fit. I thought it was too small because I callus on the side of my thumb. I opened it up a bit at pro shop yesterday now it's a bit loose. Now i'm not sure if it's not fitting right or my hand position was wrong. I was trying my best to keep my hand behind but because my arm is weak I can't do the cup thing. So at the bottom of the swing, I feel like i'm dropping the ball if i dont put pressure on the thumb

sorry if i asked too much. I dont have many people to talk to beside the pro shop guy and my bowling instructor at the university

Eric: Again, you don't need much arm strength if you're rolling the ball correctly (let gravity do the work, since your arm should be a relaxed pendulum early in your career at least). Some finger strength is needed to grip the ball the right amount. As an exercise, I cut a tennis ball in half and squeeze it repeatedly when I'm watching TV. If you've got an instructor and a pro shop guy, you're on the right track. Regular practice will do the trick! Good luck!
